Base Serviced Apartments - Sir Thomas Street

Lovely apartment in the city centre. Nice spacious bedrooms each with own bathroom

Way too noisy outside so couldn't leave windows open at night and only 1 fan between 3 bedrooms. Mattress very hard. Sofa's very uncomfortable. Long walk to get keys then again to get to the apartment while carrying luggage. One of the nights we stayed someone was banging on the door between 1am and 5am, shouting and ringing the buzzer. The bedrooms felt like they were shaking with the force they were banging the door. As we left in the morning the staff found the lock on the front door had been broken!We were celebrating an 80th birthday and didn't expect so much disturbance. It would have been good to have someone to contact that night to sort it out.

As a group wanting to hit the restaurants, pubs and bars the location was brilliant. Was also clean and spacious.

Due to the close proximity to the night life, it was noisy all through the night until the sun rise. Also was very hot as the windows only open slightly and being on the second floor during a hot summer made it difficult to sleep. Some fans/AC would really go a long way.

The location was very good, although, as warned, the road was very noisy. Both with traffic and people returning from the nearby Cavern area.

The entrance hall to the apartment was incredibly smelly. We were quite worried about what the apartment would be like as a consequence. However, the apartment itself was clean, spacious and comfortable. It was perhaps a little cold. The radiators were not on at all whilst we were there. There was plenty hot water though.
