The location was perfect and I like the fact that there was good speakers built into the room

The beds were comfortable however there were a lot of hairs in the bedsheets and the room was quite small for 6 people

⭐ 1-Star Review – Very Disappointing and Distressing Stay We stayed at 101 Bold Street Apartments for my cousin’s 30th birthday, booking two apartments — one for 10 people and one for 7 people. Unfortunately, from arrival to departure, the experience was extremely disappointing and upsetting. When we arrived, we were met by a man who showed us to the apartments. Immediately, it was clear that the apartments were misadvertised, as they did not match the photos shown on the booking site. Upon entering the apartments, cleanliness was a serious issue. There was pubic hair left on the toilets, sinks were in an unacceptable condition, and there were no cleaning essentials provided at all, such as disinfectant spray, to clean the toilets or surfaces ourselves. There was dirt ingrained under the beds and around the bed frames near the mattresses. The bedsheets appeared as though they had already been slept in by previous guests. On top of this, the apartments had an unpleasant smell throughout our entire stay. There were also not enough towels provided for the number of guests. When we arrived, there was even a towel hanging over a door drying, which was completely unacceptable and clearly suggested it had not been properly washed. Additionally, there was not enough toilet roll provided, and we were forced to go out and buy our own on the first day. When we raised these issues, the man dealing with us was abrupt, rude, and unhelpful. At checkout, his behaviour became intimidating. I mentioned the possibility of a tip considering the poor cleanliness, to which he responded aggressively: “I don’t need any of your tips. Look at my bank account and look at yours.” This was completely inappropriate and unprofessional. We paid a £650 deposit, which was only returned today, and £60 was missing. We booked this apartment through Booking.com expecting a standard stay, but our experience wasn’t quite what we anticipated. When we arrived, it took around 20 minutes for someone to come and check us in, which was a bit inconvenient after travelling. However, I understand that things don’t always go as planned. We were then told there was a £400 security deposit for our one night stay (later reduced to £250 after the staff member checked with his manager). This wasn’t very clearly stated on the listing, and we were also informed that if paid in cash, it would be returned by bank transfer within 2-3 days, which felt a little unusual, as these things are normally done using a deposit hold system. They did message me to state this beforehand, but again I expected this to be done using a hold system, rather than making a full payment to begin with. Once we were there, we realised that these apartments are mainly used for parties, something we weren’t aware of beforehand, which I think should also be mentioned on the listing. There was very loud music coming from nearby rooms, and it was clear that a quiet night’s sleep wouldn’t have been possible. We decided not to stay in the end, but I wanted to share this so others know what to expect. I’m not trying to slate the staff members or the apartments, but simply inform others who may be interested in booking. If you’re looking for a lively, party-style stay with friends, this place might suit you! If you’re after somewhere a bit quieter, straightforward and just a place to sleep for the night, it may not be the right fit.
