Beautiful accommodation ideally situated for exploring Bayeux.

Camelia was beautifully decorated and in the perfect location for wandering around Bayeux and accessing many restaurants and cafes. The pick up point for most tours was less than a 5 minute walk away. The train station is an easy 10 minute walk. The Tapestry Museum is a minute away however be aware it is currently closed and the famous Bayeux Tapestry has been moved to the UK. The Museum is currently undergoing renovations. Laurent was an excellent host and provided us with delicious breakfasts each morning and lots of tips on what to see/where to go.

Charming room in a delightful property. Highly recommend

Loved the location, the super cute upstairs room, great shower and comfortable bed. Access to the little courtyard for a drink was a bonus. We didn’t have breakfast but the dining area was lovely. It’s so close to the centre of Bayeux which makes it perfect. Free parking was available nearby.

We loved the property but in terms of being helpful to future guests there is a small staircase winding up to the room. My husband didn’t love carrying my very heavy case up there. The WiFi was a little patchy at times.

Magical town and a charming, comfortable, and peaceful place to stay.

Location is amazing. Right next to the famous tapestry museum, just a few blocks from the stunning 1,000 year old cathedral, and plenty of food options. Also the host, Laurent, is very helpful and nice. We had fresh flowers in our rooms and a nice breakfast each morning. Comfortable beds. Very clean.

Wonderful accommodation in Bayeux, a few steps away from the train station, and very close to central town. We loved our room, which was very comfortable, and also the breakfast. Laurent is a wonderful host, and we recommend this place to anyone looking for an enjoyable stay in Bayeux.

The location was perfect. We didn't tell our host that we needed breakfast earlier than he planned but he immediately agreed to make it earlier. Very comfortable and homey.

We had to carry our suitcases upstairs on a winding staircase although Lauren helped us.

Keep looking ! Don’t stay here!

The location was nice . Close to train and central Bayeux.

The proprietor was rude, his behavior made us all very uncomfortable. We all felt unwelcome. We traveled with another couple , they arrived before time. He took their luggage and told them not to return for 3 hours . The weather turned cold so they returned for a warm jacket . He never answered the door bell . They had no access to their luggage . Our flight was delayed into Paris . I notified the hotel . When we arrived it was dark and late , 11pm . We rang doorbell and called hotel. We could see a light on upstairs ( found out that was his room) finally our friends came down to the street to let us in it’s now 11:40. When he realized we had been let in he started to yell at us . He told us he cancelled our reservation. I told him we had already paid in full and showed him our receipt. He repeated how he does not allow the guest to arrive late . He was upset because he had to come down stairs to give us the key to the room. It was so strange. The next day he kept the key to our room and would only allow us access to the room if we paid him an additional 60 euros. It was a very bad experience. We are world travelers and have never experienced such blatant rude behavior. I will write a letter to booking.com. This man was inappropriate to work in a hospitality service. We never ate a bite of the food that is included in our fare. We were so grateful and happy to leave that miserable place . I understand now why we were the only 2 couples staying there. We can not recommend this place.

Warm welcome in a charming home

The host Laurent is very nice and was very helpful in ensuring that our stay was enjoyable, from looking for a restaurant open on Easter Sunday to recommending what to visit in Normandy, and cooking crêpes. The rooms were very well appointed and decorated. The beds are super comfortable and quiet; we slept soundly. Centrally located, the Bayeux Tapestry museum is across the street. The town and river walk are charming. Parking close by. I used the free parking map.

The location was perfect for us. Down the street there is a nice bakery and restaurant. We also did several tours and the pick up location is just a few minutes walk as well. The staff is nice and welcomed us at our desired time. The room was clean and comfortable. The fresh flowers were a nice touch.

A lovely town centre hotel. Well located for walks to the Memorial Museum, Cathedral and main shopping areas. Its a small hotel (2 rooms only) but its full of character. Breakfast was individually prepared and brought to the table by the proprietor.

From the moment, Laurent opened the door at Camelia we felt at home….indeed this is Laurents’ home. Laurent gave us the information for our stay, tips for exploring Bayeux & recommendations for dinner. Set in a beautiful building, the bedrooms were located up a timber spiral staircase. The room was beautifully decorated with an extremely comfortable bed and pristine linen. The bathroom was spacious and spotlessly clean. A fresh continental breakfast at €10 was set out in the little lounge room.

I cannot fault the property. Perhaps a face cloth and some milk for the tea would be a little extra touch. An earlier check-in time would be preferable for those who have travelled a long way.

A beautiful elegant property. Modern facilities, but all complementing the fact that it was an older building. The 3rd part of our 3 week holiday we were all a bit tired but such a good welcome and lovely bedroom soon revived us. Tea/coffee in room, Netflix on TV. Also very close to town centre. Excellent breakfast. All represents exceptional value for money.
