Staff was amazing and very attentive. Breakfast was great with lots of choices. We were lucky our room was on the 1st. Floor.
. We were disappointed that the restaurant was closed Sunday and Monday as well as the whole town. An elevator would be nice to accommodate older guests.

The bar, restaurant and ability to create a meal on a Sunday evening with the restaurant closed.
One of the rooms apparently smelled of damp- unfortunately- Paul’s cousin didn’t tell him until they checked out.
Other than thss as t they were happy with the hotel.

Nice little boutique hotel, nice and cosy bar.
Parking was a little bit a challenge (very small space) and the restaurant was closed (which was not mentioned beforehand). Pumkin soup in the bar for Euro 15.- definitely overpriced.

Our room was very clean and comfortable with a decent amount of space for our suitcases. The communal lounge area with a fireplace, comfortable chairs, drinks and shared food was lovely. Very close to main part of Bayeux. Parking onsite.

Location. Short walk from the train. Once there the town of Bayeux was on your door step. Staff were fantastic, made us feel at home and very friendly. Bar tender, did not get his name gets a special mention great guy and very attentive. Room was as per the description, yes slightly small but adequate for our stay. Restaurant for dinner was superb, worthy of a star and so tasty. After dinner 12 year old Calvados in front of the open fire, nothing more needed but more time.
Nothing, breakfast was slightly average and not restocked even though we were well within the time frame.

Location, lovely front desk staff, nice breakfast and charming facilities.
My room, 15, felt cheap. Cheap vinyl flooring, chintzy furniture, although the bed was nice.

Wonderful property right in center of town. The room was spacious, clean and very comfortable and reserved parking made it super convenient. They were very friendly, treated us and our dog with kindness and professionalism. The lounge was warm and inviting with soft leather, a roaring fire, and great cocktails to end our night. Breakfast was great as well with lots of choices. Walking distance to all the sites as well. Highly recommend!!

Beautiful property with an excellent restaurant.

The staff was lovely. We loved the bar area with the fireplace. We came for D Day touring as well as touring Bayeux.
Our room was very small. The closest space was tight and limited drawers. One major complaint was the terrible odor in the water closet. If the door was left open, the odor permeated the room.

Felt like a five star boutique hotel. Breakfast had so many options, many of which were homemade. The bar is what really steals the show. Low, leather chairs, a fire in the fireplace, candles…

Very quaint and pleasant hotel. Nice location in Bayeux, the lounge are was very inviting and the staff is friendly.
There is no elevator, and while the staff did take our bags up...there are still 3 floors to climb. Also the rooms are rather small. The bed is comfortable but dont plan on spending time in the room. As cute as the place is, I might try a different hotel nect time....

Great location close to the cathedral, the tapestry museum and the high street. In a quiet location, very comfortable and clean. The reception staff were extremely helpful and breakfast was a good and varied range of food. Also has a lovely cosy bar for an evening drink.
Parking is a little tight, but the hotel were very accommodating with prebookable spaces.

It's a privilege to stay in a hotel that has history, charm and comfort. The breakfasts were cooked expertly, the four-footed "concierge" a delight and we had a wonderful time.

Great location
Good breakfast
Friendly staff
The room was very small, making it quite awkward to move around. The long length mirror was in such a position that you couldn't use it. The bathroom was also very small, with hardly any space on which to place toiletries etc

We didn't know that there were no elevators on this property. we were taken to a building adjacent to the property and told we were upgraded to a suite. I believe this is the room I paid for already for US $400 a night. There are no bell men. The woman at the front desk had to carry my luggage up the flight of stairs to where my room was. The air ducts in the bathroom were disgusting and filled with dust! They had complimentary water and croissants at the front desk but only in the afternoon, not during breakfast hours. I also had to pay 14 Euro to park at the property!
cleanliness, elevators. charge for parking

We enjoyed our stay at Le Lion D’Or. Lovely hotel in a perfect location at the end of the main shopping street in Bayeux.
Room was well furnished and comfortable, with a lovely big bed.
Staff were excellent - friendly yet always professional.
The restaurant is lovely, particularly the evening meal. We had the best beef entrecôte on two nights and would have had for the third if the restaurant had been open on Sunday evening! Not cheap but excellent quality and highly recommended.
Parking is limited and tight - you need to book in advance with the hotel.
Shame that the restaurant isn’t open on Sunday evening but understandable that the excellent kitchen staff need time off.
Our shower over the bath didn’t really match the high standard of the hotel. Just an observation not a complaint!

Great location. Loved being in downtown Bayeux, great proximity to the Normandy landing beaches. Got a picnic from hotel which was very nice.
Bed bugs found in room, in the bedding. Moved to a smaller room but did not get apology or compensation for lower category room. Was told when I checked out all the bedbugs were dead but there were at least 6 dead bugs in the sheets of my bed. Would not recommend.

Beautiful hotel in the heart of Bayeux. Staff was very friendly. Room was very clean and beds were comfortable. There is a restaurant at the hotel where you can purchase food. Bayeux is a beautiful town and we enjoyed it here very much.
As with most accommodations in the area, there is no air conditioning. We didn't need it during our stay in July, as the weather was still very cool. There was a nice breeze when you'd open the windows, but then bugs would fly in. Fans were provided if we needed them.

Staff were very welcoming, helpful and friendly which made our stay pleasurable.
Location was excellent to be in the middle of Bayeux.
All was good and no negatives.

V good hotel. Very close to town centre, tapestry and cathedral. Staff very good. Food (breakfast and dinner) extremely good. Good sized room with all facilities. Car parking v useful so close to town centre.
Surprisingly a few little niggles…wardrobe door difficult to close/open, hot water in shower took ages to come through, TV didn’t work for 1 of 2 days.

Gorgeous hotel right in the heart of everything. Everything was lovely and the staff were helpful, you can book a car park right in the courtyard of the hotel for a fee which we didn’t mind paying for the convenience.

This is our second stay here. Fabulous location. Great rooms.
Well decorated
Best breakfast in our whole stay in France

If it wasn't for the meal I would have given it 10/10
Last year we had an amazing meal.in the restaurant.. this year we were very disappointed.
Although well presented, very small portions, so if you're looking for a hearty meal this place isn't for you..
Staff were lovely and professional.

Lovely old coaching inn beautifully restored. Beautiful large room. Comfortable bed. Very good breakfast. Excellent dinner in restaurant.
On site parking by reservation.
The WiFi barely worked and could not be repaired till our last day due to public holiday. Then it was fine.
It was difficult to get service in the bar.
Restaurant service was slow (but meal was worth the wait)

Amazing location! Very clean.
Not enough parking (Booking.com doesn’t ask for reservations and we didn’t know about it). The lack of a/c was also a problem but we really appreciated the Dyson fan in the room!
