Real Rio homestay experience

Let's be completely fair here. This is a family home that rents out rooms on an official basis. Not a resort ot hotel. But it gave me a great opportunity to stay briefly in a real Rio residential area. Friendly and helpful host. Great location for the bus station and Galeao Airport.

I Would Live Here.

The room reached a level of comfort that every traveller dreams about. There was ample storage with an en suite bathroom and fully functional kitchen included. Speaking of which, the bed was the perfect, soft and firm. I slept very well and awoke even better. The internet was powerful! One of the strongest I've had the pleasure of using in all my days. The lady in charge was very sweet and welcoming despite our impenetrable language barrier. I didn't want to leave.

The neighbourhood felt a touch sketchy to me. They don't accept card payments. This is fine, but as per my previous point, withdrawing a sizeable amount of cash around these parts didn't feel like the safest move (but maybe I'm just paranoid). I couldn't get the hot water to work. It rained something fierce on my first night, causing the AC to stream liquid to the floor and the electricity to cut out multiple times. Part of me was excited. The desk was appreciated but not very ergonomic. You'd hurt yourself if you worked here for a lengthy period of time.

Algumas camas eram desconfortáveis; uma estava quebrada e outra era uma caixa de madeira. Um dos vasos sanitários não funcionava. Não havia utensílios para lavar a louça. A porta não fechava; permanecia aberta para o pátio externo e permitia o acesso aos quartos dos outros hóspedes.

C'est inadmissible de loger des gens dans un lieu crasseux comme ça ! Sans parler de l'accueil du propriétaire qui ne nous a pas donné la chambre louée qui devait avoir une cuisine, et encore il a fallu demander une autre chambre que celle qui voulait nous attribuer sans fenêtre et minuscule pour 3 personnes et avec du moisi sur les murs. Il faut dire qu'en arrivant ma fille était malade (tourista) et qu'elle a sali, mais j'ai aidé au nettoyage et on choisit pas d'être malade. Le propriétaire ne nous a donné aucune explications, et lorsque j'ai appelé dans la maison plusieurs fois pour poser des questions personne n'a répondu, pourtant la minute d'après quelqu'un ouvrait une porte pour faire rentrer le chat. D'ailleurs j'avais envoyé un message via booking avant notre arrivée qui est aussi resté sans réponse. Il n'y avait pas de papier toilette dans les toilettes, des chiens ont hurlé à la mort plusieurs fois, la crasse sur les portes sur les matelas et autres, les moisissure dans la salle bain, l'entrée un vrai dépotoir ! horrible ! C'était la fin de notre voyage, mes enfants n'ont pas voulu changer d'hébergement, mais j'ai été horrifié de dormir dans ce lieu. Je ne recommande surtout pas et je trouve inadmissible de tel hébergement sur booking ! C'est vraiment dommage car ce lieu a vraiment du potentiel, et j'aurais vraiment aimé échanger avec des Brésiliens qui dans 90 % des cas sont vraiment très sympas !

Excelente. Voltarei com certeza.

Pousada bem familiar. Sebastião sempre esteve à disposição. Os quartos são limpos e arejados, com ar condicionado bem gelado. O local é próximo ao Estádio do Maracanã, e de fácil acesso às praias de Copacabana, Ipanema e Leblon. Voltarei com certeza.
