Comfortable

A comfortable hotel, good location within walking distance of the metro and friendly staff.

The rooms are good, but a bit dated. There's a lot of mold, especially in the bathroom.

Chill hostel in Botafogo

Great hostel in Botafogo. Got welcomed by the staff who speak English very well, got tips for the touristic sights. Nice breakfast every morning in the outside space where people also work online. Good vibes and I met friendly backpackers.

It could use more maintenance, walls are very dirty, floor is broken at some parts. Bathroom could be cleaned more. The 4 people female dorm room has a high and steep stairs.

Cute and valuable stay in at a nice location in Rio

The staff was really nice and helpful, we were able to store our luggage. For the money it was valuable. We’ve been there during Christmas

The room was Little Bit Dark and humid. But the AC worked. It was little bit too small for our luggage but ok. The shared kitchen was ok but we didn’t use it.

An accomodation that grew on me

The rooms were well airconditioned. Staff was very friendly, spoke English well. The place felt homely after a while. Wifi was amazing. Breakfast was good but not much variety. It's incredibly close to the Metro, and close to great restaurants. It's safe at night, very good security and safety protocol for the area.

The windows were in bad shape in our room, with the glass barely holding onto the frame. Don't stay in a room close to the street, you'll struggle with the late night parties and early morning markets that happen. Be aware, this isn't a hotel, a lot of the facilities are bare-bone. Bring mosquito repelent, as the windows don't fully close, so there will be space for them to get in.

Quiet, safe, beautiful hostel and cute cats

The location was great and felt very safe. The hostel itself is so cute, and the private room we stayed in was perfect for us. Breakfast was delicious, and the staff was helpful and kind. The owner had so many great recommendations that we could barely remember them all. We especially loved the cats that live in the hostel.

The ONLY issue we had was that my friend got in very, very early in the morning, and we were not able to get in touch with hostel staff, so she spent the night in the airport to make sure she didn't show up to it being closed. However, totally our bad, because there is a 24-hour reception and you WILL be let in no matter what time of day you get there.

A place with potential

Botafogo area is quiet and halfway between all tourist spots. Helpful staff and very decent breakfast included.

The house has potential but it's not there yet. It needs refurbishment and fixing quite a few things, more attention to detail and a spring cleaning. Noisy works inside the house during my days there. Mosquitoes everywhere. Small bathrooms.

Really nice place to stay in a great location to see Rio!

The rooms are really comfortable, the bathrooms could be a bit cleaner but are alright, and the outdoor seating area where they serve breakfast is really nice.

Perfect stay in Botafogo. Lovely staff and cats.

The staff were great and welcoming, gave us lots of helpful recommendations. The facilities were great and clean. Loved the resident cats, very friendly. The private room was large and spacious, felt comfortable here. The free breakfast was an added bonus. Really enjoyed our stay.

Honestly nothing, sometimes the shower (pressure system) would be slow but you can just wait it out.

Totally recommend

The people there make this place feel like home :). I stayed for almost 3 weeks and I really felt part of the group (and missed them already) The location was great, the common areas two, always clean and nicely decorated, wlyou hace always water to drink ann coffee and tea too. The rooms are comfortable, but with some changes the experience can improved a lot.

The fridge was watering a lot, so the food that I saved felt constantly wet. Also the pans and pots were very old and it felt they were dirty. The room was practical, clean, and nicely decorated, but it could be improved adding some things to put the clothes, a mirror, a place to leave the phone at night (always close to the bed) and those little details and could make the experience more comfortable:).

Perfect to explore Rio

I like the breakfast, the location (10m by walk to the Botafogo subway station) and the staff (friendly and always available to help and support).

The neighbourhood is known as mosquitos area, so be prepared for some noise on your ear during the night.

My room was close to the street and that was horrible. A lot of noise, super warm and a lot of mosquitos. Almost did not sleep during the entire stay.

Staff waa nice. Location great. Beds comfortable. Bathrooms clean. Affordable stay.

It's advertised that it has laundry but in reality it doesn't. Some didn't respect the quiet time. There is no sign outside to know where is the hostel, it took me a bit to figure it out. Breakfast was mediocre.

The place is bit noisy. Showers and toilets really need an update. We found out they had included the breakfast due to the Christmas holiday, but only after 2 nights. It ended early, at 09.30.
