All around great pick for a few days or weeks in Rio!

Nice place, amazing staff

Nice atmosphere, mostly because of the host Julio. Besides that he was always helpfull and gave us perfect directions where to start in Santa Theresa for example.

The beds are quite hard. But thats personal

Nice hostel

Julio is great. We enjoyed the time there. The bed was cheap and everything was cleaned. The rooms have aircondition.

My stay at Opa Hostel truly felt like home!!

From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed with real care and warmth. Julio, the manager, is absolutely excellent — attentive, present, and genuinely invested in making sure every guest feels comfortable and looked after. Pedro at the front desk and guest relations is equally wonderful: incredibly kind, social, and always ready to help with a smile. What really makes this place special is the people. Every member of the team does their absolute best to host guests with love, attention, and care, creating an atmosphere that feels more like a family than a hostel. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience in Rio and would 100% stay here again!!

Overall it’s better than it could be. Hopefully the travelers just more considerate and clean!

The location is great, many restaurants and supermarkets around. The bus stops and the metro right next corner. The hostel is big and spacious, the room with 8 beds had enough of light, space and I am happy that the toilets and showers are separate from the room. Very close though so quite comfy. The toilet and the shower cabins were clean, the 2 sinks separated as well which makes it comfortable to use, like in the public toilets you know. The kitchen is a plus and having an access to filtered water too.

1. The staff was nice but during my check in the guy took forever to receive a basic payment and he tried to charge me for anything. Asked whether I need a blanket, I was like well if you have one yes, so he wanted to charge me 20 reales more, I was like okay no thanks (they provide a basic thing sheet otherwise), then while trying to pay I saw that the price was more again, so I was like whats this time?! He said for the towel! I never asked one even! After 30 min of checking me in he finally took me to the room. No help with my bag at all. Not even a simple question do you need a help?! Other stuff seem more engaging and able to speak English or Spanish the next day though. 2. The kitchen was quite dirty at the evenings, mornings the stuff clean it though. Would be good if they do it more often, considering how much you pay for the hostel. 3. The lockers under the beds are metal ones so they are super loud and not convenient at all! 4. The beds are hard, the pillows are okay though.

Love the vibes. I stayed there for a month or so.

The spaces are always clean which is amazing. The kitchen had a good stock of good pans and dishes. Needs a wine opener tho lol. Also they have a nice guest policy. It feels like it makes it more social and open. I loved all the volunteers half of the reason I stayed so long.

Mosquitos and no curtains on the bed. Also the bedroom AC smells like mold. How the price always changes on line. It gives me anxiety. But the price always drops the same day of booking to its normal price. But still I stayed there a long time and was having to show the staff almost every extension that the price dropped and not to overcharge me.

A recepção das pessoas que trabalham em pró do hostel é excelente . O ambiente é muito bom do hostel, As pessoas são muito prestativos, e estão sempre dispostos a ajudar! Recomendo muito!!

As camas poderia ter uma cortina só por questão de ter um pouco de privacidade.

TUDO! As fotos são fiéis e pessoalmente é ainda melhor. As roupas de cama são extremamente limpas e cheirosas, o quarto tem ar, os funcionários são muito gente boa e estão sempre disponíveis, o chuveiro é muito bom, banheiro limpo e organizado. Eu voltarei muitoooo

Ótimo hostel, voltaria!

O Júlio é incrível, e os funcionários são muito solícitos. A localização também é bem boa, perto de metrô e muitos restaurantes. Os banheiros estavam sempre limpos, assim como os espaços em comum. Tem grupo no WhatsApp pra saber o que está acontecendo na cidade e no hostel, acho isso muito bacana. Voltaria novamente e indicaria para meus amigos!

Os lockers abaixo das camas fazem muito barulho pra abrir e são pouco práticos.

No quarto em que fiquei (9), sofri com o calor, pois o ar não gelava. Teve dias que faltou água, as vezes o chuveiro nao esquentava. E alguns hóspedes deixavam o quarto uma zona. Mas ai a culpa já não é do hostel kkkk

Μια αξέχαστη διαμονή στο Ριο ντε Τζανειρο

Το κατάλυμα είναι καταπληκτικό. Η τοποθεσία βρίσκεται σε ιδανικό μέρος, πολύ κοντά σε καφετέριες, μαγαζιά, εμπορικό κέντρο και μετρό. Ένιωσα πολύ ασφαλής τόσο εντός όσο και εκτός του καταλύματος. Το προσωπικό είναι το καλύτερο, οι υπάλληλοι είναι πολύ φιλικοί, εξυπηρετικοί, με όρεξη να σε καθοδηγήσουν και να σε κατευθύνουν προς τα καταλληλότερα μέρη (ανάλογα με το τι ψάχνει ο καθένας στην πόλη του Ριο ντε Τζανειρο). Συστήνω το χοστελ αυτό ανεπιφύλακτα!

Staff super acolhedor, dispostos a ajudar em tudo. Lugares comuns espaçosos, cozinha, grupo no whatsapp informando sobre eventos, passeios, etc. Senso legal de comunidade em geral.

Quartos simples com 4 camas bem pequenos/claustrofóbicos, sem lugar pra se arrumar direito pra quem fica na beliche superior.

Localização! Você se sente em casa de tão livre que se encontra no hostel! Funcionários solicitos!

Pra quem é mais alto (1.80m), ficar na cama de cima pode ser mais complicado porque vc não consegue se sentar na cama! Mas é só um detalhe que em nada afeta a hospitalidade do local!

Maravilhosa!

Gostei de tudo! recepção, instalações, cama, banheiros. O hostel é um graça, sempre limpo, funcionarios simpaticos e muito atenciosos, destaque para Julio, um amor de pessoa. Super solicito e muito competente no que faz. O acesso ao hostel é muito bom, onibus, metrô, uber. Rua calma com muitos restaurantes e bares na redondeza. Mercado... muito próximo da praia de botafogo. Enfim, amei e super recomendo. Nota 10

Apenas o fato da janela e camas do quarto que fiquei não terem cortinas. Porém, resolvi com um tapa olhos. Sim, como sugestão, deixo a ideia de implantarem quartos femininos, pois, o hostel so dispõe de quartos mistos.

Bem localizada

Barulho, muito barulho. Na recepção tem um bar e a galera fica bebendo e falando super alto, incomodando os hóspedes que dormem cedo. Acho que deveria ter um pouco mais de noção quanto a isso

Ótimo, recomendo e é bem provavel que eu retorne.

A localização é exelente, muito próxima ao metrô. Eu fiquei em uma suite de 8 camas, o banheiro era grande e bem limpo. As camas tem colchão bem duro, mas particulamente gosto e acho confortável. Os quartos possuem armários em baixo da cama, mas você precisa levar seu próprio cadeado. O local todo é bem limpo e organizado. Ele é bem bonitinho e parece até ser novo ou bem conservado. Os atendentes foram super simpaticos.

A única coisa que achei negativa foi não terem um ferro de passar, mas isso não afetou minha experiência.
