Very nice and clean hotel, could have been a bit more personal being a small boutique hotel.

It was a nice place to stay , clean and safe . Possibly a bit over priced for the room we had.

The patio and dining area is pretty, nice views and very nice pool area. The breakfast was very good and the staff at breakfast very nice.

Our room was disappointing for the price we paid , furniture stained and suite unattractive. They had not left any towels in the room and as we arrived late we couldn’t get any until the next day and after our flight we had really wanted to shower. We stayed 3 nights, room service came once - made the bed , didn’t change the towels. There is WiFi but didn’t work in our room- we had one of the suites in the garden not the main house

Great location for a relaxing start to our trip to Rio. The room was a good size with lots of room for us to decompress. The show and bathroom were very nice. The swimming pool and terrace area were fantastic and the service and hospitality of the staff were top notch.

The mattress was a little soft for my liking, but I have found that is quite common in LATAM. The fridge was quite noisy at night and we had to un plug it.

Not as great value compared to other places nearby that we stayed at. Not as much love and care has gone into the details here that you’d want at this price for the area e.g. water isn’t provided in the rooms as standard.

It’s such a shame, it could be beautiful but we left furious.

The hotel itself is a beautiful eclectic building. Rooms are nice. There is parking available in the street, it’s right in the middle of Santa Teresa but it’s sort of a gated street so they only let residents in, so you can find parking anytime on the street. You can literally take stairs to go to largo do curvelo.

Staff and treatment. Roaches in the restaurant yard. Someone literally tried to enter our room while we were there. They are very rude, especially in the restaurant. The waiter ignored us when the restaurant was completely empty and chatted with another staff, and just did a hand gesture meaning to wait. There is noise, lots. It wasn’t a problem for us but beware. They also tried to charge us twice.

Definitely a place I’d return to.

I had an amazing experience at Boutique Hotel Castelinho from the moment I arrived until the moment I left. The location in Santa Teresa is perfect, an iconic, bohemian, and incredibly charming part of Rio that adds so much to the stay. A special shout-out to the two Beatrizes at reception, who were consistently warm, helpful, and welcoming. The breakfast staff also deserves praise, everything was delicious and beautifully prepared. My room was modern, spotless, and very comfortable, with a style that fits perfectly with the atmosphere of the neighborhood. A stay that exceeded my expectations in every way.

Overall, it’s a lovely property and we would stay there again

The incredible view. The rooms are spacious and nicely decorated. The location is fabulous and the pool is a wonderful asset.

The breakfast could have been better. Fresh fruit was only offered in the form of a chopped fruit salad, the juice tasted watered down, and the eggs, when ordered, were usually undercooked.

A relaxing and enthralling stay in Rio.

The building and views from the property are exceptional. While I and 2 friends were there, one became ill and required medical attention. The staff could not have been more helpful. Beatrice particularly accompanied my friend and I to ER at the local hospital. She was pivotal in my friend getting prompt and predictable care. When it was really important, the staff shone through. The food and service were great.

One very small thing that the pool water stung my eyes. They said they’d fix it promptly.

The hotel had a beautiful view, a nice pool and was in a very fun area. The staff were very helpful and friendly.

We found it a little difficult getting around. It’s hard to get ubers to go to santa teresa and quite far from the tourist areas. It was also a bit difficult communicating with the staff as they didn’t speak much english.

Beyond beautiful views, but honestly, with some minor hurdles

Really great location with picture perfect views of Rio! The hotel’s courtyard, restaurant and pool area are beyond beautiful, even nicer than on pictures. Staff is very kind and food in restaurant (open Wed-Sun only) very tasty.

When we arrived we had couple of hurdles - our bed sheets were not clean, full of beach sand (they were changed for nice and fresh ones the next day). We also didn’t have warm water in shower, since the hot water valve was closed. We needed a lot of time to figure this out and could not get support since there is no staff at the hotel after 20h and they also do not respond to texts after this hour (this I would put forward as a biggest cons of the hotel). Also the hotel location is not at all quiet at the weekends - the location of the hotel itself is really in a quiet street - but you get a lot of noise during the weekend nights from the parties in the Santa Teresa neighbourhood below.

Goed hotel op een mooie locatie.

Goede bedden, ruime kamers, goed ontbijt ( met fantastisch uitzicht.

In vergelijk met ons vorige bezoek vond ik het personeel wat minder hartelijk. Prijstechnisch vind ik het hotel aan de hoge kant. Wat ik heel vervelend vind is dat als je later aankomt met het vliegtuig dat je bij het later inchecken meteen extra geld moet betalen. Zeker vervelend als ik mijn zoon (woonachtig in Rio) in de middag heb laten inchecken. Hij kreeg alleen de sleutel niet mee. Om die te krijgen zou ik evengoed moeten betalen.

O Castelinho é aquele hotel que nos faz querer voltar sempre, pois cada detalhe nele é especial. Esta foi a minha segunda estadia, e em 2026 eu volto! Os quartos são arejados, com roupas de cama limpas e macias e camas largas e confortáveis. A televisão é uma smart TV, equipada com uma variedade de aplicativos e TV a cabo. O café da manhã é maravilhoso! Desta vez, recebemos uma comanda para escolher nossas opções. Tudo era fresco e delicioso, a geleia de maracujá, feita por eles, é uma verdadeira iguaria! Quanto à vista é impecável. A piscina é ampla e cercada por uma área verde deslumbrante, perfeita para relaxar. E não posso deixar de mencionar a equipe, que é sensacional! A Amanda é uma pérola, uma profissional incrível. Ela foi gentil e atenciosa, e nos surpreendeu com uma entrada deliciosa no novo restaurante do hotel. Isso mesmo, para melhorar ainda mais a experiência, agora eles têm um restaurante! Tivemos uma entrada perfeita: falafel de berinjela, dos deuses! O chef me prometeu um cardápio vegetariano para minha próxima visita, e já estou ansiosa por isso! 🌱😍

Minhas poucas pontuações são em relação ao chuveiro que tem um tempo de aquecimento considerável, desperdiçando bastante água. Não sei se eles tem um esquema de reutilização, mas é algo que precisa ser revisto. Além disso, a recente mudança no portão de entrada. O novo portão, embora maior, é bastante pesado em comparação ao modelo anterior, que era menor e mais prático de manusear.

Zdjęcia w pełni odzwierciedlają rzeczywistość. A nawet bym powiedział że fotografie basenu powinny być zmienione bo w rzeczywistości jest ładniej. Hotel jest butikowy i bardzo kameralny, cisza, spokój i ogólna atmosfera sprzyjająca relaksowi. Nawet bym powiedział że adults only, co jest bardzo na plus. Jednocześnie nie jest to ciasna przestrzeń - wielopoziomowy z panoramicznym widokiem na Rio z tarasu i z restauracji. Otoczenie zieleni. Jednocześnie blisko do atrakcji starego miasta. Personel bardzo pomocny i elastyczny, w ciągłym kontakcie przez Whatsapp. Można się czuć jak gość specjalny VIP. Brawo za profesjonalizm.

1. In einer internationalen Stadt wie Rio würde ich erwarten, dass das Personal an der Rezeption sich auf Englisch verständigen kann. Die Kommunikation via diverser Übersetzer Apps ist dann doch ein weinig anstrengend. 2. Außer einer Kleiderstange gab es keinerlei weitere Möglichkeit, seine Garderobe unterzubringen, sodass man aus dem Koffer leben muss.

Merkwürdiges Eggs Benedict: Als der Chefkoch scheinbar nicht anwesend war, hat man uns gleichwohl das gleiche Menü angeboten. Als dann die Eggs Benedict kamen, waren sie ungeniessbar. Besser wäre es gewesen, von Anfang an offen zu kommunizieren und die Eggs Benedict gar nicht anzubieten. Auch die Fruchtsäfte waren etwas geschmackslos. Sonst: Etwas teuer, daher Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis nicht optimal.

Prachtig hotel

Het hotel is prachtig en het personeel is super vriendelijk. Het ontbijt is geweldig en we genoten van het uitzicht. We liepen in de avond via een goed verlichte weg naar beneden waar meerdere leuke bars en restaurants liggen (5 minuten lopen). We liepen ook gewoon terug naar het hotel en voelden ons nooit onveilig. We hebben 1x geluncht in het hotel en dat was heerlijk. Het ontbijt werd voor ons persoonlijk op een ochtend een keer eerder klaargemaakt, omdat we een vroege excursie hadden geboekt.
