A ‘Gem’ in Bayeux!

The location of this property is excellent, ten minutes walk into the town centre ideal to visit the Bayeux Tapestry, plenty of restaurants, bars and a small but well stocked supermarket.Twenty minutes to the train station. A great parking space that is only two minutes from the property, free of charge. Martine is an excellent host, very welcoming, helpful and very cheerful. The property is ideal for a couple and there is room to leave your bags / cases under the stairs if you do not want to carry them upstairs. La Pomme de unit is immaculate and the space is compact but very well designed and to a high standard. Having a table and chairs outside was lovely to have a morning coffee as Martine’s garden is beautiful. The property has charm and a lovely atmosphere, it is very quiet. There are lovely country walks nearby if you do not want to go into the town. This property is a real ‘gem’ and we would certainly highly recommend a stay here, we cannot wait to return!

Quaint and charming accommodation in Bayeux

The little cottage is gorgeous and set in a lovely manicured garden in the picturesque town of Bayeux. A short walk to the old town, including the beautiful cathedral and of course the famous tapestry. And Martine the host was so welcoming and friendly. We had a really delightful stay.

Charming cottage in a historic town

La Pomme de Nuit was actually a side house of the owners, so it was private, large and split-level with the bed upstairs. It was a 4-postered bed, so that was another treat to sleep in. The owner was kind enough to let us place our bags first while she tidied up, so we were able to arrive early and start our sightseeing on D-Day straightaway. Her breakfast was an excellent Continental spread, which she kindly delivered to us at 7am as we had an early train.

The accommodation was a bit of a walk from the train station, but it was worth the effort :)

We loved this B&B - from the moment we were warmly greeted by our host, Martine! Our cottage was charming , the breakfasts were delicious (the breads/pastries were amazing), and the location was great. Nothing but good!!

Warm and friendly reception from Martine. Very clean and cosy self contained cottage. Walking distance to centre of Bayeaux. Fresh breakfast.

Toilet downstairs meant that needing a pee in the night was a bit scary as loft steps were a little steep. Best to leave toilet light on for guidance. Scratchy towels.

Very warm welcome in Bayeux

We needed a room as we passed through Normandy and this was perfect for one night. The B&B was very clean and had many nice touches such as coffee, tea, glassware, kettle, small fridge. The best part of our stay was meeting Mme Pichonnier, our host. So kind, sweet and welcoming. She brought a delicious breakfast the next morning too. Great experience.

Great breakfast, friendly host! The stairs leading to the bedroom is not for everyone, it's quite steep. Not a problem for us but it could be for some. Good location, good starting point to tour the area. Recommended!

The proprietor was lively, despite our lack of French and her lack of English. The small building in use as a B&B was perfect for 2 people and nicely decorated. The stairs (really a ladder) were a little scary, and a couple of steps were wobbly. Our landlady brought us a beautiful continental breakfast in the morning. Definitely recommend!

GPS repeatedly took us to an address on a different street. Fortunately, a kind gentleman recognized our dilemma and gave us better directions.

Very good location: close to the city center and free parking space in the surrounding streets (or on the steep driveway). Friendly host and good, basic breakfast included. There's no kitchen but a water cooker, small fridge and microwave is present.

No complaints but a small couch/soft chair downstairs would have been more convenient compared to the fairly hard chairs.

Very friendly and helpful host. It was fun talking with her and practicing our French. The location was great. Only a 5 minute walk into the center of town. Bayeux is lovely. The tapestry is must see. Short drive to the Normandy beaches. Incredible experience visiting the WWII sites. Very nice breakfast brought to us each morning. Fun building with character. Very private.

The parking is a little tricky on a very steep driveway. The bedroom and the bathroom are on different floors so it was somewhat difficult navigating steep stairs at night. The tiled floor was a little cold, but we were there in cool weather. But maybe a small rug would be helpful.
