Overpriced and sketchy

The staff was nice

The staff was nice, but the units were awful. Smelled bad and not clean. There is no restaurant or was not when we were staying at the height of the season. We booked last minute so it was really our only option, but we left as soon as we could.

Worst accomodation on Northland. Extremely disappointing for $288 per night. Do yourself a favour and stay elsewhere. We

Lack of general maintenance results in it being impossible to clean the room to a reasonable standard. Black mould on the curtain, smelly old carpet in a dingy room charged out at $288 per night. It took over 20 minutes to get some service in order to check in. The whole experience was so bad my family would stay in the room as “this place sux”. We ended up packing up and finding accommodation outside of Kaitaia, where everyone was happy and saved our holiday. Charging $288 per night for a room of this standard is dishonest, deceitful as best. Do yourself a favour and stay elsewhere. We won’t be back.

Location and beds

Shower nozzle, base frame and curtain were hopeless. Didn’t eat in the restaurant but there was no cutlery or crockery in the kitchenette for our takeaways while we watched tv. The unit was generally clean but the carpet was badly stained and the net curtaining was covered in mildew.

Really friendly helpful staff, room super clean and tidy and rally nice stay overall. Nice to see staff greet you and with a smile for a change.

It’s a bit dated but that’s far outweighed by the staff and cleanliness of the rooms.

No working smoke alarm it had been removed No lightbulb in bathroom It has kettle microwave 2 cups 2 glasses and 2 teaspoons No cutlery no plates no toaster Very dirty floors in corners and ranch slider rail Cobwebs You can see in picture where I wiped the floor with wet wipe

The Food was exceptional. This chef could be in any Auckland restaurant and would be very sought after. Wait staff were great. Room clean and tidy but very dated.

Decor is very dated. Inside and out, including the restaurant. Rooms need a makeover. Had everything we needed and was clean and tidy. It is such a waste as it's in a great location and has very little competition.

The staff are so lovely and friendly. The food in the restaurant for dinner was really good although we felt the menu was a little limited.

The motel is generally tired, dated and rundown which is such a shame. Cheap furnishings.

The hotel was great for me, it is not high end, but it is clean

The room is small and was easy to heat. On that the heater was also easy to use. the bed is comfy and the room does the job

The bed cover and the wall plugs couldn't hold my MAC charger.
