Great host who went out of her way to assist, exceptionally well maintained facility with comfy bed and hot shower, very clean and fully equiped kitchen.

Shower head fixed to wall, I'm tall and found it a little awkward with no height adjustment, very minor thing in otherwise excellent room.

Excellent location for the drive to Cape Reinga. All the amenities you need for your trip. Kim was very friendly and helpful. Despite having been through a cyclone a few days before, the only noticeable effect was the pool. Kim and staff had done a great job cleaning up so you wouldn't even have known it had passed through. Thanks for a great stay.

Good enough for a couple nights' stay if you want an early start to Cape Reinga. Clean and quiet

The room was clean, the entire area well-kept. Decent wi-fi. The owner provided us with beach towels.

Weak water pressure, having to open and close the gate every time we came and went. No AC, with the ceiling fan stuck on one speed. Five channels on TV, despite the sign that promises Sky satellite channels. Not a huge deal, but we wanted to relax with a movie after a whole-day outing. The bed had a hard plastic part of an el. blanket right under my ribs. It should be removed in the summer, at least. Finally, we generally dislike carpets in bedrooms, but this seems to be a custom in NZ.

The rooms were spotlessly clean and we were received in an extremely friendly manner. A dress we forgot in the room was sent back to us within days, and communication was very easy.

Awanui gem.

This perfectly situated accommodation was ideally placed for my visit to friends in the locality. The rooms and facilities were tidy clean and spotless and there was nothing I could fault. Everything I could need in this modern accommodation had been very thoughtfully taken care off. The Manager Kim was an absolute gem. Nothing was to much trouble for this lovely lady and she was very kind helpful and considerate. There’s no way I would ever contemplate staying elsewhere next time I’m visiting the area…. It’s definitely a 10 out 10 rating from me.

Exploring the Far North

Kim is a fantastic host. Warm and friendly. She had some great tips which really helped us get the most of our day. The location of Norfolk Motel is fantastic for exploring the far North.

The units are well maintained, but slightly dated in terms of fixtures and fittings. Lack of hot/cold mixing taps might make it less comfortable during winter stays. Also an extractor fan in the kitchen would help with getting rid of cooking smoke faster.
