Every aspect of my stay at the Merritt was superb.
Hosts were extremely hospitable and helpful in every way.
Fully recommend this to anyone wishing to stay in Paignton as the location was so convenient.

Breakfast was delicious, room was spotless and comfy. It was just a few minutes walk from the beach, station and main shopping area. Really couldn’t fault the place once we got inside. The welcome we received was fabulous and, unlike other places we’ve stayed where it’s just a business, we felt that they really really wanted us to have a great stay. Loved it. Would return at the drop of a hat … if there was better parking.
The only thing we didn’t like was the parking. Luckily we managed to have the last space, but goodness me it was tight. Really tight. We didn’t need to move the car while we were there so once we were parked it was fine, but I don’t think we’d chance it again. It’s a shame because we loved the rest of it.

The room number 1, with a view of the front garden, was beautiful, clean and tidy. The bed was exceptional, really comfortable when you have issues with your back. Can’t thank you enough for that.
It is a small room but expected for a single, I have seen the double room and it’s so beautiful, will be booking that next time.
