Comfortable bed and good location
Tiny bathroom sink but not a big deal

Nice location and the room was warm, clean, and well provided.
We left without paying for Breakfast - it was THAT bad.
Really hard to park cars without incurring serious cost, but that’s okay as Cambridge is a cycle-friendly city.
Breakfast was a comically bad experience, with a young lad behind the bar dealing with the worst ever Chef I’ve ever experienced … we waited over an hour for fridge-cold meagre servings straight from the fridge, pretending to be what we ordered.

Room was fine, bed comfortable, location good, pub atmosphere good, warm friendly staff
Food was not great, breakfast was poor - badly cooked and cold, staff stretched and very inexperienced but they did their best

Quaint old rooms with vintage furniture, beams and creaking floorboards
Slight ambient noise from the pub below - really not a big issue though.

Lovely place, staff were all pleasant. Great atmosphere in the pub. Rooms were comfy and had everything you would want. Easy to find and a nice leisurely walk into Cambridge. Handy to have a coop opposite too for grabbing a few snacks for the room.
Room was really warm when we arrived but no issue really as we just cracked the window. There was a fan too so if we’d needed to then we could have used it but the window did the trick 👍🏻

Excellent location bright next to river and park if you have a dog.
Parking right in front of pub.
Sainsburys 1 min across the road.
The food is amazing even though there are restaurants nearby I woukd suggest staying in the pub for dinner, excellent eggs royale fir breakfast, I imagine the cooked would be just as tasty.
The bedroom was quiet no noise from pub, no noise from street or other rooms. TV and Nespresso machine thst makes Coffee and hot water fir tea. Nice touch newspaper on bed as you arrive.
Free wifi and good TV channel choices.
The staff were all friendly, this is not said as a cliche for the review, they were really helpful and friendly.
Close walk to all campuses and city centre, without the cost of city prices.

We had two really cozy and well-equipped rooms. Although the rooms are above the pub, it was very quiet, and the pub food was as expected. It's also a good location for sightseeing.

This is the second time we have stayed here and would definitely rebook. Staff very friendly and helpful, the pub downstairs has a great bar and there is a restaurant and outdoor area.
You have to be prepared to look around for parking although the staff helped us out with recommendations.

We stayed for one night and were allowed to check in already around midday, which was very convenient. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful – a special "thank you" to Niko, who supported us with everything from local recommendations to booking taxis. We truly felt at home. The Sunday roast in the evening was a real highlight – absolutely delicious, compliments to the chef! The atmosphere throughout the hotel was warm and welcoming, which made our short stay very enjoyable. We will definitely return on our next trip to Cambridge.

Room No. 5 would be improved with an extra light to assist those of us over 50 with declining eyesight to read.
Perhaps a mini fridge could be provided in room to keep milk for tea & coffee & water cold.

Convenient location to downtown Cambridge.
Decor a bit tired and could do with cleaning/updating stairs and doors to rooms.

Bed was comfy and bathroom was lovely. The products in the bathroom, which included shampoo, conditioner and shower gel, were a lovely touch. They were colourful as well, which looked aesthetically pleasing to the eye.
Staff were friendly.
Proximity to the centre of town is good. Co-op right opposite.
Parking ended up great, as we parked right outside.
We did not have breakfast at The Waterman, so I cannot comment on this.
The room was tired. For example, I felt that the carpet walking up the stairs needed addressing, perhaps cleaning. There was paint peeling off the back wall, which made the room look uncared for. There was black mould/dirt around the window frames and I noted this on the venetian blind in the bathroom also. Although it looked like the blind had been cleaned, it was marked, which made it look shabby.
There were 2 small bottles of semi-skimmed milk left in the room, to put in coffee/tea etc. However, they were not in a fridge and it was a very hot day. I therefore put them in a sink of cold water.
I feel that £167 for the room was quite a lot. We were on the main road, which is not a problem, as I knew this when I booked. However, all these small details have to be taken into account when costing the room. The fan was great, but we did have to have the window open slightly, to produce more air flow. It is important to note that noise from the road goes on to well into the early hours of the morning, so if you want peace and quiet, requests not to be placed at the front of the pub would have to be requested.
I am a holiday home owner, so know the work that goes into the upkeep of a property when renting out to guests. The points I have raised are not to bad mouth the establishment, but to provide some constructive criticism.

Very clean, small but cozy. All necessary things were fresh and available. Very good traditional or healthy breakfast in the pub. Next to the park, river and sightseeing. Very good for a short stay.

It is in a good location with a short walk to many points of interest… the staff were warm and welcoming… there is a good choice of local ales along with many popular largers and ciders .. the breakfast was very nice so I should imagine that the lunch and evening meals would be of a good standard.
The only negative was the room was a little on the small side and very warm as if you opened the window the traffic noise was a bit of a nuisance apart from that clean and tidy.
