Loved the building and the room, really dissatisfied with breakfast

Enjoyed everything except breakfast which was of poor quality and poorly set up

The quality of the food and the tea and coffee were unacceptable for a hotel of this class. Tea tasted of stale water. I was told that the water came out of a machine and not freshly boiled. The pastries were truly inedible -- poor excuse for a croissant and a pain au chocolat. I was also disappointed that all the food was buffet style, again unexpected for a hotel of this class.

Location, location, location. There are very few places like the University Arms in Cambridge so it is a stand out.

We organised 2 rooms and even confirmed everything when we checked in- but the front desk staff put our other party in the wrong room.

Absolutely fantastic, a must stay in Cambridge!

Clean, well decorated, staff were very efficient and helpful. Room was spacious with a nice clean bathroom and comfortable bed. The bar downstairs is fantastic! The location is perfect for the city centre. Breakfast was very good.

The tv wouldn’t connect to the Bluetooth in our phones - a very small gripe! Oh and my macaroni cheese from room service was appalling but I got a refund and an apology.

The room we had was excellent. though the water temperature was not hot enough.

Accepting that this was the Friday before Christmas the hotel was rammed. The bar crowded, all sitting areas full, with no area reserved for residents. I was even denied entrance to the dining hall though very early because I had not reserved a table. (Overcome with some verbal demonstration). The food was decidedly average and the service almost comical. The self service breakfast food offering was so poor and our whole experience extremely disappointing for a hotel of this standing. The one exception being the concierge who could not have been more helpful!

Lovely hotel, clean, comfortable and stylish.

The bar was chaos, , not enough staff and inexperienced. We spoke to people who said they experienced the same last time they stayed. We waited 20 mins to order and 20 mins for the drinks to arrive. It’s a shame as everything else was wonderful.

Nice location and attractive public spaces

Very nice breakfast. Convenient parking on site (not cheap but not horrific). Nice decor in hotel. Pleasant common areas. Great location. Friendly staff.

Our room was a bit shabby (though the bathrooms are very nice and large). Feels like they need to refresh. A light wasn't working. Stains on the carpet. Nothing that can't be fixed but for the price, the rooms need to be more plush. There are much cheaper options in or near Cambridge that can more than compete on rooms.

Mixed feelings

Location

Impossible to get a proper invoice with my name and company name on it (either from the hotel or from Booking). 3 trips to the reception office, several emails exchanged with the hotel (and absolutely no response to my requests from Booking customer service).
