    Really nice hotel at Cambridge North train station. You can easily get into the centre of Cambridge by train or bus and can also get to Ely easily by train. There is a large car park as part of the station which you can pay for by app (was £30 for 2 days). Hotel room was lovely and well equipped (kettle, Nespresso machine, iron, hairdryer, dressing gowns, mini fridge, air con). There is a restaurant and a pool though we did not use them (maybe next time). Staff were all nice and the price was good.

    On the outskirts of Cambridge but right on the train line and bus stop terminal right outside. Great facilities in hotel. Very comfortable room. Great breakfast 😋

    We stayed here last minute after being let down by another booking, and overall the experience was fine and as expected for a short stay. That said, there are a couple of points worth noting for future guests. First, the hotel lists a car park, but this is actually the train station car park next door, and it’s paid parking. Not a deal‑breaker, but something I feel should be made clearer. The location isn’t ideal for getting into central Cambridge. There is a bus stop right outside, but unless you time it perfectly, the wait can be long. Getting back was even trickier, and we ended up taking an Uber instead. My biggest frustration was the service, which felt flat and uninterested. I travel abroad frequently for work, and UK hotels often fall short compared to international standards—and this was another example. Our room had only USB‑A sockets, and most devices now use USB‑C. We’d forgotten our adapter, so we asked at reception. In many hotels, there’s usually a drawer of spare adapters they can lend to guests. Instead, the response here was a curt, “We only sell international plug adapters,” delivered as though we’d asked for something unreasonable. It wasn’t rude, just unhelpful and demonstrated a lack of service intuition. All in all, the hotel is adequate in a pinch, but small service touches and clearer information would make a big difference.
