Please please do not stay here

The view

Everything. I don't write poor reviews usually but this was a different case altogether. I have never met such lazy staff. When you went to breakfast which was very poor food they hardly looked up from their phones. They were lounging on the chairs and not bothering with the guests at all. It was 138 broken steps down to our accommodation and extremely dangerous as the handrails most of which are missing are made of plastic plumbing pipe and painted brown. We had to hold onto twigs and branches hoping they wouldn't snap. The cleaners were always sitting on the steps on their phone. The shrubbery around is completely neglected. We had two loungers on our deck which you couldn't use as they were rock hard and no cushions available for them. They made an excuse that they were on order when I insisted on having some which I do not believe at all. The receptionist could not speak any European languages at all which is necessary when you have most of your clientele from these countries. I tried to communicate with her on Google translate and she still didn't get it. The bed was really uncomfortable. The shower didn't work unless you hand held it and never even got warm water out of it. I could go on and on but all I can say is please do not waste your money at this establishment it really is very bad and it isn't cheap either. I could understand if it was a hostel but the price you pay is ridiculous for what you get.

The property needs renovation and repairs. Everything is worn down and old. And there seems to be little interest in maintaining the hotel. The rooms are not charming, breakfast is not good.

Perfect hotel, highly recommended

This hotel is nothing short of AMAZING. The room, the view, the staff and the food... Wow wow wow. We were so sad to leave here and would 100% stay again when we come back to KO Tao. It's a short walk to the 360 degree bar, a number of beaches and the view point. Plus the free entry to Shark Bay is just next door. It's a short walk into town with lots of bars and restaurants to chose from.

Amazing Seaview, worth it just for it

Amazing view from our room. Good breakfast. Really worth it just for the room.

- Lot's of stairs, the way to go to shark bay is NOT SAFE at all, you have to be very careful, the sea is on top of the exit, stars are missing, slippery or in a very wrong angle and there is no safe way to go down or up. I got a minor injurie in my ankle from climbing some rocks in order to go back to the hotel (nothing serious) but a lady that was heavier twisted her ankle and was hospitalized. Is better to go around a use the bar entrance. - Unfortunately my phone felt in the sea, and I asked for a little bit of rice to put the phone inside - 100bath :) - We asked the staff for a ride back at check out (informing the day before the time as requested) and when we arrived that morning we were told we hadn't informed about the time and so the ride got delayed and I was worried because we had a boat back. - Nothing around, nearest 7eleven 15min walk with ups and down. We had dinner at their restaurant at 20h30 and at some point they were closing (21h I think) and we felt like we needed to leave and didnt enjoy our meal the same.

The staff is friendly and helpful. They arranged a transport to the pier and carried my luggage. The view from my apartment was incredible. Directly watching the sea and Shark bay.

The facility is clean and I didn't miss anything. However everything was working fine some maintenance needs to be done.

- terrace and rooms were not clean at all - the smell in the bathroom, especially the water was so disgusting that I was breathing through my mouth the whole time I was in there - can’t recommend the breakfast at all. There were ants everywhere and they didn’t refill anything

Great value for money for families in Koh Tao

It’s hard to find a good resort for families in Koh Tao and this place is not bad. The seaview family room was nice, toilets should definitely get an upgrade but the room itself is ok. The resort is full of stairs but that’s something we knew coming from hotels in samui and Phangan- if you want a view it usually comes with stairs :) I saw here some comments about the key deposit- it’s very common in Thailand to take a deposit upon check in and the deposit here is less then half then deposit in hotels in places in Thailand, plus- you get it back! Food wise breakfast is decent, classics like cornflakes, bread, jam, pancakes, omelets and fruits plus some Thai food and coffee which was desponding, no coffee machine and the powder coffee was not our taste. The way to the beach is super steep as expected but it’s a great snorkeling spot and it’s literally 3 minutes walk back up to the room. The resort is quite distant so if you want to get out to another restaurant it’s either walking, renting a bike or finding a taxi. The resort dose offer shuttles to the ferry which is convenient. The restaurant in the resort is quite slow if there are many orders but the food is great, the portions are HUGE for Thai standards and the prices are very reasonable! Overall- it’s pricey compare to what you would get for this price in Samui or Phangan and still- considering Koh Tao is very limited with family rooms that’s a good value for money. If you have older kids consider taking two rooms or the double family room which has the best view.

Location was a bit far for food and activities out of the resort, but snorkeling wise it’s a perfect spot!

I would not repeat my stay

The location and the restaurant food were good

The hotel is very outdated. Everything in the room was old, from the fridge to the mattress. Needs to be properly cleaned and the bathroom seamed very dirty. Also, although we had a nice terrace, it was of no use as everything was covered in tree branches and other things, as if it hadn’t been cleaned in a while.

The restaurant was good. The nearby beach bar was fun but many steps involved. Pretty hairy walk from the rooms. Best to go out front and around. Views from the rooms were lovely.

Fantastic place to see loads of pretty fish & turtles

Large bungalow overlooking the bay. Sliding door connecting a twin room with a king room, both with their own en-suites. Steep steps up to the restaurant, & down to the beach with its own bar. Beautiful fish (& we did see a huge turtle) in easy distance from the shore. Snorkels & life jackets available to borrow from the hotel. Also, free transfer to & from the port. Window & veranda to the front to view the bay. Breakfast was good, as was the evening meal. Loved our stay here - wish we had longer.

Best view in Koh Tao

The location is exceptional, we had the rooms with the closest access to the sea and sunrise were amazing. We loved how helpful the staff was and the additional service such as kayak, snokerl, etc. The rooms romantic sea view was nice although it misses a bit of renovation.

Be aware that its many steps to the best view rooms, in my case I had pain at one of my feet so wasn't easy to go up and down. Plus don't expect sandy beach at the bottom of the hotel it is only rocks and direct sea access. Needs renovation in the rooms and bathroom.

The bungalows all look out over shark bay. There is a track (very steep) down to the tiny part of the bay that is free. The bay gets very busy but it is perfectly situated for swimming with turtles and baby sharks

The bathroom really smelt bad and our bungalow was situated directly above the workers quarters and directly below the restaurant so it was often noisy. Advertised as ‘free access’ to shark bay but in reality- this place is simply situated above the already free bay. On check out- we were charged for a towel that ‘couldn’t be found’ but we did not take towels out of the room and did not steal one so they either did not look hard enough or it was misplaced by them.

Over priced for what it was

Close to Shark Bay and theres a beautiful view from the restaurant. The Thai option for breakfast was tasty (although they labelled it chicken, but it was pork - be careful if you don't eat pork!).

It's on the side of a massive hill so the only way to access the rooms is by very uneven steps. Other reviews have said it's "dated", which is very true. I'd say "run down" is more accurate. For the same price you can get a place that is much better value for money. The mosquito nets don't cover the bed (and you need them - lots of trees and there were mozzies EVERYWHERE!!!). Cats hang out on the balcony (fine if you like them). Not a lot of variety for breakfast and every batch of eggs was super rubbery.

Our family bungalow was really cute. The terrace with the amazing seaview was great. The stuff is gorgious. The little beach is lovely, but really small and it's hard to get into the water when it is low tide. There is s free shuttle to and from the pier.

A waterrefill place would be nice as the next supermarket is not really close if you have to walk.

Beautiful view in quiet location

The staff was really really nice, helpful and sweet. We had two bungalows one had a big issue with the ac of the neighbour bungalow and they did everything they could to solve the issue. The seaview bungalows are really nice with a beautiful view over the shark bay. Wouldn't recommend good seaview at the sea front. Good snorkeling with turtles in front of the hotel.

Great place to stay, excellent service and excellent room, and amenities, people are so kind, happy and grateful, the place is near the best 360° Point View and the top of the world in Ko Tao, for me the best of the best in Ko Tao. P.S.: There a lot of stairs and big steps to going down at the beach or up at the viewpoint be careful with your knees, you need a good condition for this places.

Superb

Balcony with beautiful view on the shark Bay. Very good place for snorkeling. The sea was a bit of trouble but it was so nice, we have seen a lot of fish, a lot of different species. When we arrived, we are upgraded because your room wasn't the best view. Chiang was very kind and listening.

The price for eating is expensive. That all, the rest of our trip was perfect.
