We stayed five nights here and really enjoyed the time here!
The staff was very friendly, attentive and always helpful.
The infinity pool has the very best view we ever encountered in a pool during our travels. Enjoying the sunset while swimming there was something special!
The room was tidy and clean. The hotel is located on top of a hill above the village, so the walk to the next restaurants and cafés is about 500 m, including a steep road though - the great view has its price ;).
The hotel offers free transfers to Sairee (the main town of the island) multiple times a day and they worked perfectly.
The sunrise yoga classes were great too, again with an amazing view.
Overall, the hotel is a great place for those who look for a quiet and calm place to relax and replenish.
The options for breakfast might be a bit limited.
A few of the walls in the room could use a fresh coat of paint.

Place was absolutely magical, and although i enjoyed a month of travelling Thailand and its many Islands, national parks and sights, I could have easily stayed here the whole time. Its fairly remote in terms of Ko Tao, however, you can walk anywhere with enough perseverence, I did. You can also rent a bike for 200 baht a day or make use of the free shuttle offered by the hotel. The breakfast is incredible, pool is magical and its peaceful. There are two beaches literally a 5 minute walk away for excellent snorkelling. Book it now
Nothing, it was perfect

It has a lovely view. They provide shuttles to and from the hotel at no cost.
Extremely outdated. Extremely. Maybe when it was built it was a luxury resort, but now days it’s pretty bad. From brown tiles in the bathroom, to aging wooden furniture, it isn’t worth the price, at the price it costs you would expect someone much better. Also, the breakfast is sad, don’t bother with it, just go out to eat. Also, there were ants.

The resort isn’t huge like many resorts, and keeps a cosy atmosphere throughout. The decor is wonderful - you feel like you’re in a treehouse. The buffet breakfast was fab, with many options, and the infinity pool was incredible. Housekeeping were brilliant and left a treat for me for my birthday.
We stayed in the off/rainy season so it wasn’t busy at all and prices were very reasonable. Would recommend.

It was a really beautiful resort! Staff was mostly nice and there is a free shuttle service scheduled multiple times a day.
It is quite remote, that can be an advantage or disadvantage. Also we had to switch rooms because there was some kind of stench coming from our bathroom sink that did not go away after several days.

Nice view from pool
First room given was covered in mould and I was changed to a nicer room which was clean.
Staff at reception were hit and miss. Some days v polite, other days don’t even look at you when asking a question.
Not informed cash was required to rent a bike. Hotel manager brought me to an ATM en route to ferryand watched over until I handed money over.
Could use a major facelift but was probably value for money.

This place is on a hill. It has beautiful views. Nice pool and friendly staff. They do provide some transportation to pier and main village/beach on a schedule. You can walk to the beach that is nearby and they provide continuous transportation to that beach. WhatsApp is good way to communicate with staff.
We knew this but it is 20 minutes away from the main town. Also, this resort is heavy on the stairs so not handicap/stroller friendly.

Loved every second of our stay.
- Very lovely staff
- Super clean upon arrival, perfect daily house keeping
- Superb pool with spectacular view
- Breakfast excellent
- Great location on top of a hill, walk uphill was a good exercise. Good restaurants within 10 min walking, and Shark Bay (excellent snorkelling site) is also a 10 min walk.
This was by far our favourite hotel during our Thailand trip, would not hesitate to book again!
We loved everything but maybe a few suggestions:
- Maybe a wiper in the bathroom, the floor was pretty wet after showering.
- A small tub of water at the entrance would be nice to rinse off the sand of feet after a beach trip
- More frequent shuttle service to the centre of Koh Tao

Large comfortable quiet room, friendly staff and only few minutes by motor bike from restaurants etc.
Beautifull fews from Pool and restaurant.
The hotel is in desperate neeed of an upgrade. You can see that its glory days are long gone.

Beautiful resort , the staff are lovely and really looked after us kept the room clean everyday and was there to help us with laundry, taxi services etc! Nice rooms, spacious!
Ants but the staff got rid of them appropriately, and it’s expected all across the island pretty much!

Loved the view and room was a good size for family. The staff were all very friendly and helpful
The breakfast could have included more variety of fruit choices.
Being situated on top of a hill, you do need to use transport but the hotel provides a shuttle bus. You just need to let reception know each time you need it.
2.0 / 10.0
The view from the swimming pool was amazing and the shuttle bus to the pier/beach was helpful.
I have never left a negative review before but the way we were treated by the staff in this hotel was shocking. Firstly, we were staying at another hotel in Sairee so messaged to ask if we could please be picked up in the morning during their shuttle service. We got a very blunt reply saying they only picked up the from the pier. I replied saying it says on your website you do a pickup from Sairee beach, and they just sent me the timetable, nothing else. So when I replied saying yes can we please get the shuttle then, where is the garage (we had tried to Google maps it), the response I got was “You can search on the google map”. So incredibly unhelpful. They never confirmed so we just turned up hopeful they would come.
Secondly and more worrying, at the hotel we got served raw chicken satay for dinner which we both ate a part of. The chicken wasn’t just slightly pink, it was still clear and rubbery, completely uncooked. The staff didn’t seem very surprised or apologetic. They took it off the bill but argued with us when we said it’s very dangerous to serve raw chicken. We asked for the manager and when doing so had 3 of the staff members stood crowding us while one of the waiters shouted at us that raw chicken isn’t dangerous. It was a very uncomfortable and intimidating situation for 2 young female guests. The manager came and threatened us with the tourist police because she thought we were refusing to pay for the meal. I explained to her that we had never said we wouldn’t pay for the food, but we were shocked in how we were being treated like we were in the wrong. She eventually agreed to take our drinks off (2 bottles of water and a beer) and said she was sorry that her staff had “bad at English”. Their English was very good and I felt sorry for how she was speaking about them in front of them. In the morning, the staff just stared at us, it felt very hostile and when we checked out, there was no mention of any of it.

This place is like heaven on earth. You just disconnect completely from the rest of the world, while being here. The view and infinity pool are something you'll never forget. Always service minded and friendly staff. This was our 10th stay at this marvelous place - and we'll be back ❤️😃

The view was insane, the pool was great and the location was good - not central but close to amazing beaches and good restaurants.
The hotel is a little old and there were ants everywhere

The Paradise Koh Tao Resort
An absolute 5 out of 5
I was saying to my daughter how, for me, a 5 star hotel is not just about the quality of the room or building or the food or even the staff. It’s about the overall experience. Value for money, comfort, fun.
We were met at the pier with our cases carried for us to a songthaews.
We were met at the grand hotel by Koko who explained that there was a power cut. No electricity but he was smiling and so sincere it was not a problem for us.
We were walked to our room by Koko and a colleague. They carried our cases.
The room was just being finished with cleaning and we went into the massive room with a double and single bed. No AC because of power cut. It was funny with Koko explaining to us how it worked without being able to show us.
My daughter and I then went to the pool which was absolutely amazing. We had the whole pool to ourselves for the afternoon. An elderly Thai couple came and we took some pictures for them. Then a German (or South African) couple. The pool and area was big enough that we weren’t in each others way. Able to relax, peace and have fun.
We then ordered some ice cream and when the electricity came on we then ordered lunch; an omelette, a coconut chicken soup and red curry. It was absolutely delicious! (About 600BAHT).
My daughter then showered and I had a bath on the balcony! Yes, a bath on the balcony, Bubbles bowing down the street. it was amazing!
We then went down to the lobby and were driven free of charge into Koh Tao.
We had a wonderful time in Koh Tao which is really alive again since covid.
We then paid 500B for a cab back.
We slept in the beautiful air conditioned room.
The following morning we had breakfast (250B each) and were served again by Su (who was always helpful and smiling). There were other staff members (Myanmar) we didn’t get their names but thank you to them as well. Everyone was smiling, friendly, trying their best and running around for us.
That we couldn’t stay longer.

The view is amazing.
The room was big and bright.
The staff was generally nice, especially Koko.
The hotel is not well maintained. The biggest problems being health hazards, which I think they should fix asap.
1. We had mold in our bathroom ceiling. The bad kind. They cleaned it twice, yet it came back!
2. The water in the faucet. Sometimes it was as brown as black tea. Other times it had a very strong smell of chlorine.
My son got really sick (high feavor), I don't know if it is related...
Food was mediocre at best
Unfortunately, woyld not return.

The hotel is on a hill and has an incredible view over Shark Bay towards the south. You can even see Koh Phangan in the distance. The room was amazing, spacious and bright with lots of windows. The beds were comfortable, the air conditioning was working great and the curtains actually kept the light out very well! We got three free fresh bottles of water in our minibar every day and the cleaning ladies did a great job!
Generally, the staff were all very friendly, although with varying english skills. However, it was never a problem to communicate. The hotel offers a free shuttle service for the beach and everything else in the vicinity and charges only 100 TBH per person for a trip to Sairee beach, which is considerably cheaper than other taxi services.
While the hotel is relatively remote and you won't find a lot of people here, it more than makes up for it with its peaceful atmosphere and a much more pleasant climate compared to Sairee Beach. Since its surrounded by jungle, it never gets too hot and also there is constantly a mild breeze coming from the sea.
The breakfast was a little bit underwhelming. The buffet consisted of 2 types of toast, strawberry jam, warm butter, yogurt, fruits (always pineapple, watermelon and dragon fruit) and pancakes which remarkably were simultaneously dry and oily. For drinks there was only water, orange juice, coffee or black tea.
Additionally you could choose between three types of breakfast, american (eggs, bacon and ham), continental (yogurt with toast and jam) and thai breakfast (rice soup with chicken or pork).
Additionally we found that food and drinks at the hotel restaurant were rather poor value compared what you would get elsewhere. Meaning that it is relatively expensive, the portions are rather small and it doesn't taste quite as good, especially if you are looking for western food. The thai food was pretty good although still more expensive. But I guess you also pay for the ambience because the view from the restaurant is absolutely gorgeous.
On our last night in the room, the wind was blowing pretty heavily outside, which caused the plants in front of the window (which we had until then enjoyed for their beauty) to scratch against the glass, which kept us up all night.

The infinity pool and the views throughout the whole hotel are absolutely breathtaking! There is a free shuttle down to the nearby beaches and where there’s restaurants/bars & the hotel can take you further if you pay a bit (cheaper than a taxi if before 9pm). Only a 10 min drive to the busy strip of bars and restaurants. The staff are so so accommodating and can’t do enough for you! Thank you to Som on reception - she is so lovely and kind! We are planning to come back next year as we loved it so much!

Clean, good shower, comfortable bed, very private setting on a hill with stellar views and infinity pool.
The buffet breakfast is tasty and has good selection in a nice setting.Staff are very attentive and friendly.
This resort also has a beach location with a pool for guests to use while the building is under renovations.
You will need a scooter to conveniently move around the island from this resort.

The Koh Tao Resort is the most beautiful hotel that we were allowed to visit in all of Thailand. It stands on a mountain and is a wonderful viewpoint of the island. (Don't worry, you will be picked up from the port and driven back). Due to its location, you can see both sunrise and sunset from the hotel terrace or the infinity pool. The rooms are larger than average, very clean and mosquito free. Don't miss to book a room with a bathtub on the balcony! The breakfast is rich (American + Thai). (Almost even) Better than this hotel is the warm, friendly staff, Som in particular makes the stay perfect and makes everyone smile and feel comfortable the moment you arrive. For us, who have stayed in 100s of hotels, the Koh Tao Resort is right at the top, outstanding value for money. P.s. Be sure to get a fruit shake from the bar - delicious!
Nothing. Maybe be aware, that Sairee Beach is too far to walk, but the taxis are cheap, or with a motorbike it's a 10 minutes ride, and otherwise there are tons of restaurants and minimarkets 5min walk from the hotel.
