A beautiful resort with stunning views from the balcony, lovely pool and a great restaurant
I loved everything
6.0 / 10.0
The room itself which was part of a new complex that belongs to the hotel was good. The hotel itself is very very old but this suite was good.
The stuff are not very nice
Not very attentive
They must work on the service
One of the worst hotel staff ever experienced.
Breakfast is very very basic and poor.
The location of the hotel was bad - the way to the lobby contains a road that is highly corrupted and if you come with a motorcycle (which is probably the case) then it can be very dangerous.

It was quiet, peaceful and we absolutely loved it. We tried to book an extra night but fully booked :( we loved seeing coco the parrot at happy hour!
The only feedback I would give is that the restaurant was a little over priced.
4.0 / 10.0
The rooms we stayed in and the views were amazing.
The staff made us feel like they didn’t want us there.
Breakfast was wrong 3 times and staff were asking us to leave the room while room service staff was saying it was fine to stay while waiting for correct breakfast.
Pool bar staff was very slow and made us feel like we shouldn’t be ordering drinks or we was a hindrance to them.
Was told staff would take cases from our room up to reception for us, when we asked it was then like a chore for them.

Nice rooms, amazing pool with stunning views, clean tidy
extremely step slope to get hotel, and lots of steps within
7.0 / 10.0
Location and the sea views from our room and the pool. Generally the staff were very friendly and helpful.
The staff at reception could of been more friendly and helpful. They helped us book a ferry for our return to Samui. The ferry was cancelled the day before but the hotel did not tell us about it, despite being told by the ferry company 24 hours before. We had to catch a later ferry which resulted in us having to re-arrange our flight at great expense.

Amazing experience.

The location and water activity
They have rooms on cliffs and to reach in villas we have to climb lots of stairs as we are young we could manage but for elderly its next to impossible to stay comfortably, also they didn’t have any buggy facilities to reach reception area which is a basic facility all good resorts provide.

The hotel is located above Shark Bay and the Black Rocks. A beautiful place with an amazing hotel. The pool is relaxing and offers a nice view
There are many stairs. About 50 steps from the room to the pool, and a similar number to the reception. Getting down to the sea also requires dozens of steps. The mattress on the bed is uncomfortable and not suitable for a 5-star hotel
8.0 / 10.0
Excellent hotel, with stunning views.
A little far from the action, but a great place to get away from everything and relax. It’s a small island so doesn’t take long to get around. If you are traveling with people with knee or mobility problems it might not be the hotel for you as it’s set on a hill with several steep inclines

A beautiful establishment, built in the rocks of the cliff - so yes, while there are stairs to navigate...what do you expect with these breathtaking views? The restaurant food is actually pretty good for a hotel/resort that is isolated.

What I liked was the location and the view from the room
The people are simply not nice. There are so many stairs in the hotel that you think twice before leaving the room or coming back to it. The price is just not worth the place. This is really, really not a 5-star hotel

The view was amazing.
The facilities were good especially the Spa.
Access to the rooms
Too many steps

Loved the views and rooms
Info before we booked there’s so many stairs wouldn’t want to book a week as exhausting also no beach to walk into which was disappointing

Loved the accommodation and facilities
I had done some research prior to going so I was aware and prepared for all the steps however if anyone didn’t check before I fear they could be shocked.
The staff were good but certainly found tipping Helped 🥴

What a wonderfull location! Views are stunning. Villa with private pool is amazing!
Diving course is an absolute winner.

Much better than I was expecting. Read some iffy reviews but it’s thoroughly decent. Don’t expect the four seasons but it’s a decent 5*. Dive school more expensive than in town but fun group of instructors made it worthwhile. Food choice small but everything decent very good. Loads of turtles 50m from jetty. Lots of steps but not the end of the world. Staff very eager to please, polite, happy & efficient.
Towels could be bigger & fluffier. Increase shower hose length so handheld can be used easily as well as overhead but I’m being picky now. Really very decent all around. Maybe some snacks in minibar as diving makes me hungry!

It is located on a steep hill. The views are decent if you want a hill view. The bay below the hotel is good for snorkeling.
The service and staff attitude is horrible. They have staff that is not trained, just local women who do not understand basic communication. The hotel requires walking up and down very steep steps to and from the room. It is not easy even for young people. The rooms are dated and old. Old AC that you cannot control the temp. No fan. Toilet has no shower just an ancient tub that is difficult to enter. Just a dental kit provided. Nothing else. No iron, no shaving kit. It is a 2 star property. Mosquitoes are rampant. You get charged for using snorkels. Booked this hotel for diving but got no slots. Finally went to a local dive club. Food is below par and not much to offer. We ate out every meal.

Stunning rooms and facilities were excellent
Lots of steps to get up and down to rooms and restaurant

Just an outstanding apartment overlooking the sea, 10/10 idyllic. Restaurant has to be visited to understand the views as you eat. Pool is again cliff top excellence. Ate and drank at the bar with four of us and we struggled to get the bill up to 300GPB.... in a week so very cheap.
Honestly we went in May it is very quite because people worry about rain and weather -- we had fabulous weather. It is humid and make sure you put Mossie repellent on , but there is nothing more I would ask or did not like.

Absolutely beautiful hotel with beautiful views (I had the deluxe pavilion)
Should be renamed “The Glute Hotel” if you want a free work out every day this is the hotel for you, you will only ever forget in your room once, because you wont want to do it again with all the stairs

The villa is fantastic, with wonderful view and private pool, perfect for family stay. Beautiful territory. Very nice restaurant for breakfast and dinner. Staff is great, especially in the diving center. Really the best hotel on the island!
Nothing (but lots of steps can be challenging)
8.0 / 10.0
Great pool villa, lovely view over the sea albeit over the flat roof of another villa. Kitchen, bathroom, seating areas inside and out all good. Lovely pool at villa. Great general pool area and terrace too. Excellent restaurant. The SSI Diving club is very professional. Fun dives every day as well as training from start up to instructor.
Lots of steps but that is to be expected as Koh Tao is very hilly. There was building work, expanding the hotel, going on right in-front of our villa ( not the sea side) which made it noisy from 8am to 5pm and which we weren’t aware of before going. However, the hotel responded really well discounting our room rate and food/drinks. A refurbishment of some of the furniture is needed.

I stayed in Bungalow #5 and it was perfect – stunning view, super comfortable bed, spacious shower, and everything was spotless! The breakfast felt classy and the staff were truly amazing. There are quite a few stairs at the resort, so keep that in mind, but the whole resort has a really cool vibe. I also booked the private boat tour around the island – absolutely worth it! I loved it so much, I booked two more nights right after my stay.

People….take those stairs seriously. Anyone with physical issues or recovering, go elsewhere! We are sporty & healthy but were still struggling in the full heat & humidity. Minimum of 100x stairs from the room to the reception. We stayed halfway up. So, it could have been worse. Stairs are not even. The hotel gets a 11/10 for the view to the Ocean and to Freedom beach. But it’s almost impossible to walk up the road (that steep!) or with two persons on a scooter, to reach the hotel. Pool area is lovely. Enough loungers. Food & drink is expensive and comes mandatory with 17% on top. Food was ok and more focused on blend european food rather than beautiful thai food.
Coffee at breakfast a disgrace!!! An old machine with instant coffee only. Hot water for tea coming from a plastic reservoir. Unacceptable when you pay €150 a night for a room. Rooms were run down and same for some areas in the hotel. Views from the room were beautiful but couldn’t hide the bad state of the furniture and wallpaper. During our 4nights in this hotel there were a lot of israeli people (20-30yrs) on their war break. Which was very painful to overhear and difficult to ignore. They were loud and arrogant and didn’t care about other guests. We even watched fights broke out at Freedom beach between israeli guys and other foreigners because of their terrible behavior.

We had an exceptional stay at Jamahkiri Resort. The setting is stunning, with ocean views, peaceful surroundings, and amazing snorkeling right off the dock.
The staff truly made our experience special. A heartfelt thank you to Fifa, Nancy, and Onew, who were incredibly kind, helpful, and attentive throughout our stay. The restaurant team served delicious meals with care, and the housekeeping staff were friendly and kept our room spotless. We also really appreciated the dockside staff, who made snorkeling easy and safe.
We left feeling relaxed, cared for, and grateful. Highly recommend Jamahkiri to anyone looking for a peaceful escape with outstanding service.
Nothing - it exceeded all of our expectations!

the view was exceptional, the pool was very nice, the bed was super comfy,
breakfast was ok, but not the greatest value for money.
the stairs- so many stairs! very exhausting to get anywhere there,
and also the location wasn't central, and very far from restaurants and the main street. so you have to take a very expensive taxi every time.

The room was spacious, clean, comfortable, and beautiful. Snorkeling area was great. Staff were friendly.
Too many stairs.

View from the room, good location for snorkeling
Mess in communication - I informed the staff 3x about our departure but when I went to the reception the night before, they didn’t have a clue. There were 3 umbrellas on the beach, all of them were broken. They replaced one of them but the rest remained the same even I asked them to fix it. The location is not good for swimming and it is far from everything. Food in the restaurant was tasty but overpriced and they didn’t claim the final price but the price without VAT and service fee… I was very disappointed

The pool room was quite spacious and it’s nice to have a private pool that’s not so shallow. Having a dive centre at the resort was also super convenient. Snorkeling around the hotel was a bit murky but still got a good chance to spot a shark and one of the biggest turtles I’ve ever seen. The climb up from the room, which most people complain about, was rough. I counted over 200 steps! However, it’s good to help keep fit, gets you going in the morning and helps you earn your breakfast 😂
Food options at the resort weren’t great, breakfast was pretty basic but it was fine for anyone planning morning dives and needed a light stomach. Also limited shuttle times meant you need taxis if you want to stay in town beyond 6pm but they’re pretty easy to get at the Pier or from reception.

Nice area and diving centre was in the hotel.
Spa was under construction

The hotel was beautiful. It was really one of the best views I have ever had. I had one of the most basic rooms but the room was not basic. It was much better in person.the bathroom looked a bit old fashioned )
Yes ; you must we willing to take the stairs. Therefore I would not recommend this hotel for old people or if you have any disability that does not allow you to walk properly. I do not know if they have elevators. At least I did not see them. I was there in May and the hotel was empty . The beach to myself .the lady in the diving shop was extremely lovely.

Not too big, situated well
A "Hoel & Spa", but the Spa is closed... under Construction, but the working men are merely laying around, listening to their loud music and fumbling their mobile phones. The Gym is small... Breakfast rather small but nice, but the Coffee is lousy and just undrinkable. Restaurant and Bar are nice but prices too high. Small wonder that guests enjoy drinks only when happy hour...

Hotel was nice, as were the facilities provided. Nice restaurant, great view, great room service and nice pool.
The amount of steps from the room to the reception and restaurant. Also, Taxis were not permitted to drop guests off at the bottom of the very steep hill. Concierge expected me to take a taxi into town to buy a lighter as opposed to source one from within the hotel somewhere, or matches!
9.0 / 10.0
Lovely lovely place to stay. With a few caveats. We had a lovely stay in a pool villa. It was a splurge on the last few days of a 9 week tour. The room Was huge and perfect for the end of a holiday. Our own pool and view and being brave we am were able to jump in the private pool at midnight naked. Lovely thing to do. The staff are very attentive and eager to please. Breakfasts were great once you realised there is a menu to order your eggs or pancakes from. The evening and lunchtime meals were delicious.
Location is great for snorkelling on or off the beach. The prime reason we chose this hotel. We saw turtles and sharks and all manner of fish.
Downsides were the location of the hotel with regard to the cost of taxis to and from the Town and bars. The hotel offer drop off service to the pier which is great for an evening stroll to the town 15-20 mins. The taxi back however will be circa 400baht (£10). It is an island but in my opinion the high cost of taxis will kill the resorts a little further from the action.
Fortunately I’d say you don’t have to head into town too often. I am assuming backpackers and 21 year olds are looking at this hotel as a base so…… stay in house and enjoy a wonderful hotel with lovely rooms and staff and fantastic tasting food and service.
We actually ordered a meal in the restaurant but as my wife was I’ll we asked for it to be delivered to the room. No problem at all for the staff. And delivery was quick too.
