Perfect little hide away resort!
Very hilly and plenty of steps won’t be no good for elderly or disabled.

Never seen a more beautiful location of a resort. Very beautifully adapted to nature.
Amazing snorkling. Tasty food. Nice staff. Good gym. Yoga class with Amy and sunset work out classes with Dave were great!
A bit neglected care. They could definitely do a bit more maintenance of the property.

The location is stunning! You can snorkel, paadle boat, walk around the property, take videos and photographs, watch the sunset. I encourage anybody that visits this hotel make use of the activities that are prepared for the guests without any additional cost, you have Muay Thai, cold bath, DJ in the pool bar, Hppy hour, yoga, painting activities for the kids, also they have a mini mart and a scuba diving little shop if you want to get away from the busy (now) town.
All employees at the hotel are kind, humble, haooy always to help. I think they receive training because they know how important a custmer is! I recommend to get a room in front of the sea, since on the oter side it can get windy. I enjoyed waking up with the sound of the waves crashing in the beach. Bring sand shoes or you can get them on the mini market. The coral breaks in the beach so you can avoid getting scratch by it. The food and restaurant is amazing, can't get tired of eating in their restaurant, the cocktails are a must! I recommend the expresso martini and the Long Island Ice tea! we had the best time of our lives up there at the infinity pool! We left the property to another, and we totally regreted it! We can't wait to come back and feel the warmth of the beach and its people! Thank you!
Some debris from construction on the landscape made it look like it was trash, so we were a bit disappointed with it. Also, the debris was in front of the pool, not good for a memorable picture. My partner recommends having a little hut and contain those construction debris away from sight, especially from the tourists. Also, there were some noisy constructions and dust that came directly to us in the pool. I was at some point coughing and feeling sick, not something that you are looking for in a peaceful holiday. They were for one or two days. Not every day, so the rest was perfect.

Easy access to snorkeling and kayaking every day. Very relaxing, cool vibe to the resort. Affordable massages on site. Happy hour drinks daily. Breakfast buffet is excellent.
Taxis are pricey on the island, so getting anywhere is an expense. The resort is large and hilly so getting from the room to the restaurant is a hike. Restaurant food is average.

Amazing secluded resort on a cliffside offering amazing views. Some highlights:
* Really spacious rooms with views of the sea
* Extremely friendly staff
* A full schedule of activities, a gym, a dive center, a 24h store as well as a muay tai studio all on premise
* Beautiful beach and infinity pool with pool bar offering stunning views
* Free transport to and from the city
* While the food was great, if you like fine dining the on premise restaurant does not offer this (although it has great and tasty affordable thai food)

We booked the honeymoon room and the view and space was amazing.
Lots of steps

Now for the real highlight — the snorkeling. From both beaches, the coral access is amazing. You can snorkel with small reef sharks and turtles. Just be careful of the titan triggerfish; there are quite a few. It was truly beautiful and unforgettable.
Except for the experience at reception, the rest of the staff were genuinely kind, and we are grateful to them for our wonderful snorkeling memories.
We had a good stay overall, but there were a few important issues. Upon arrival, we were given a different room than the one we had originally booked, and no one informed us about the change. The receptionist was not very friendly — she rolled her eyes and said something in Thai to her colleague, who then explained that our room was under renovation and they moved us to an ocean-view room instead. While the room itself was beautiful, we came mainly for snorkeling, and this room was very far from the beach access.
The hotel has a lot of stairs, and it’s not suitable for anyone with mobility issues. Even getting into the truck that takes you from the port is difficult — you need to jump in, hold your luggage, and brace yourself for the extremely steep road.
The room, however, was stunning. The bathroom felt almost outdoors when you opened the shutters, and it was huge. The bed was very comfortable. The pool and pool bar were fantastic, and we enjoyed the happy hour a lot.
The hotel is far from town, and unless you want to repeat difficult trip, you have to eat at the hotel restaurant. Unfortunately, the food wasn’t very good and was quite expensive. We ended up spending a lot of money over just three days. Services like massages were also very expensive for Thai standards.

The location is absolutely stunning and the staff are amazing. Easy to get hold of reception via the room phone or WhatsApp and they’re responsive. The shuttle service to the hotel and to the pier is very convenient. The beach/bays either side of the resort is great for snorkelling (the hotel even has complimentary snorkel masks in the room).

Everything here is magic…. Jumping out from the bed and snorkelling under your terrace watching an amazing coral reef full of fishes (we even saw baby sharks and a huge turtle!), food is great (breakfast has an extensive variety of options and diners watching the sunset on the beach with an excellent pad Thai!!)…about the room is generous on space and clean, housekeeping is great and the hotel is peaceful and quiet, perfect for charging batteries before going back to work!!….the Staff is sooo nice and polite, always helpful and smiley….we love all the corners of this place….highly recommended!!

The location is breathtaking. The hotel gave us a free upgrade and the room was absolutely gorgeous. One of the best hotels I've stayed at.
Maybe the shuttle frequency to the pier can be increased. We did spend a lot on taxi unnecessarily
Food is not the best. Lot of area for improvement.

The location was very good with a beautiful beach and good snorkelling. View fantastic and food very good.

Wonderful place to stay and used all the hotel amenities - we stayed for a full week. The pool was great with its happy hour and view (the staff at the bar is excellent), the private beach has everything you need, the Bay, the restaurant were all lovely & clean. It was a charming get-away where you really feel like you can relax and still do things! The views were absolutely stunning, every day we could not believe our eyes. The snorkeling was great.
We rented a scooter from the hotel, 160cc was fine for a couple - we had adventures every other day to explore the island and other beaches. They provide snorkeling goggles which was great to use. Everytime we came back we loved arriving back to our calm peace even if the route was a little unsteady at times. I wish we stayed longer & upgraded for a sea view! 10/10 reco and would come back
The place is not that well lit at night on the property and especially on the road leading up to it. Whenever we rode home by scooter after sunset, we barely had lights outside of the scooter one for almost 15m. Its possible to manage but with a good driver and being focused and responsible.
We wish the breakfast ended later, latest time was 9:30am.
There is a lot of stairs / steep moments and it can be difficult for some. We liked getting the natural work out in but it should be checked in detail if you have mobility issues.
The resort IS far away and remote from everything (guess its the point) - 100% recommend getting a scooter if you are staying more than 2,5 days for independence to go in and out and explore the rest of the island + find alternative food options.

A little piece of paradise – perfect for nature lovers and Muay Thai enthusiasts!
We had a truly unforgettable stay at Sai Daeng Resort. The location is absolutely stunning — a hidden gem nestled in nature with breathtaking sea views and direct access to crystal-clear waters. It’s a snorkeling paradise, perfect for exploring vibrant coral reefs just off the beach. We were lucky enough to spot harmless baby reef sharks and an incredible variety of colorful fish — right from the shore!
The staff is exceptional — incredibly kind, courteous, and always available to help with a warm smile. The entire resort is beautifully maintained and impeccably clean, with thoughtful touches that make it feel both luxurious and welcoming.
The food is excellent — fresh, well-prepared, and with enough variety to satisfy any craving. Of course, prices are a bit higher than your average Thai street food, but totally reasonable and expected in a resort of this level.
A very special mention goes to Kru Def, the Muay Thai instructor, who offered private sessions tailored to our needs. He’s a great teacher — professional, passionate, and patient. Training with him was one of the highlights of our stay!
We’d recommend Sai Daeng Resort to anyone looking for natural beauty, relaxation, and a touch of adventure. We’re already dreaming of coming back!

We loved the facilities, the stunning views, the spacious and clean rooms, and the friendliness of the staff. The breakfast offered a great variety, and the hotel had an exclusive feel with activities like yoga and live music by the pool. They even provide snorkeling gear, which was a nice bonus.
We appreciated the peace and quiet of being slightly away from the city center, but although a shuttle service is offered, the schedule is limited and infrequent, so at times we had to rely on taxis, which can be quite expensive

It is quiet and stunningly beautiful resort, set on a peninsular so you have ocean on both sides. Snorkelling is wonderful, yoga and Mai Thai with outstanding trainers. Truly the best teaching I’ve ever had!
We loved it. Maybe another restaurant woukd enhance the stay but we loved the food.

The location is just so beautiful and all of the staff are so lovely, such a lovely, happy team. One of the most beautiful places we have been too and the food was exceptional especially the Thai curries ❤️ We only stayed for one night that was the only downside, could have stayed forever :)

Of the 3 islands,we loved Koh Tao. And Sai Daeng was the perfect venue to enjoy it. Located on a peninsula, no matter which direction the wind blew, there was always a calm side to snorkel!
We loved it all!

- The hotel has the most beautiful beach in Koh Tao with amazing coral reef.
- The view from the room is very beautiful
- The stuff was very nice and welcoming all the time
- The gym and the Pool are great
Over all we had a great time and I recommend this hotel is you can drive a scooter and not afraid from stiff roads.
- The location is far away from the center of the island and you will need a scooter to easily move around. but also with a scooter, the ride is not easy with stiff roads all the way to the hotel.
- I this it could have give more value for what we payed and improve: the breakfast, the price of the food and drinks, the stuff could be more professional.

A beautiful hotel with stunning views from the pool and a lovely, well-maintained beach. The staff is warm and welcoming, making the stay even more enjoyable. The complimentary shuttle service to the town center runs several times a day, which is very convenient. Plus, there are great free amenities like snorkeling gear, paddleboards, and kayaks; perfect for enjoying the crystal-clear water.

I can’t say enough about how incredible our stay was! This resort offers an experience that goes far beyond a typical beach vacation. Even as someone who doesn’t usually do yoga, I found myself eagerly attending classes every day for a full week — the instructor Amy and the beach views and setting made it impossible to resist. The yoga sessions were truly world-class: inspiring, accessible, and set against a stunning tropical backdrop.
The breakfast each morning was absolutely amazing, with fresh, healthy options that energized the start of every day. Beyond that, the resort offers a range of unique activities that you rarely find all in one place — from rejuvenating ice baths to exhilarating Muay Thai training, plus DJ happy hours that perfectly blended relaxation and fun.
The location is unbeatable, with easy access to multiple beautiful beaches, each offering fantastic world-class snorkeling — my favorite! The resort provides kayaks and all the water equipment you need, making it effortless to explore the island’s breathtaking coastlines.
The grounds themselves are a paradise — beautifully manicured trees, vibrant flowers, and lush greenery everywhere you look. There’s a fantastic swim-up bar where you can lounge and socialize, and a convenient shuttle into town if you want to explore further. The on-site spa offered some of the a variety massages, and the restaurants are great — offering a variety of delicious, fresh dishes.
What truly sets this place apart, though, is the vibe. People from all over the world come here, creating an amazing, welcoming community. Koh Tao itself is a very special island, and this resort captures its magic perfectly.
We can’t recommend this place highly enough and are already looking forward to coming back!

Staff are amazing and friendly, the hotel is beautiful, pool is great, the view is inceridible, and the hotel provides all-around attractions for free, such as muai tai, kayaks, snorkeling, etc
There is an issue with the rooms.
Those are not sealed enough, so you can easily find bugs anywhere and have hear noises as there is on going bugs party in your room.

Not used to slow service .

The service provided from pick up to arrival and facilities are seamless. They even have an itinerary of yoga, muay thai, & kayaking available on the house. View is amazing, and convenient with a dive centre on site, and a mini mart. You may also rent a bike, or take the shuttle available.
Service is amazing.
Breakfast is good, contrary to some comments about it.. however the restaurant menu dishes needs to be improved. The pizza, pasta, salad menus were not restaurant quality at all and not worth the price.
While it is ok for us to walk the hilly route and stairs (as what is expected when you book a hotel with top views) just caution that it might be challenging if there are elderly visitors with you. Going to the restaurant for breakfast or dinner might be challenging.

Stunning location. If you like being close to the beach and a bit of snorkeling, both are easily accessible on each side of this amazing peninsula!. Uncle Soon and Sylvia were the best of hosts. Every room had a beautiful ocean views and beds were the most comfortable we've experieced in a while. Breakfast was included and was the best meal of the day. Highly recommended!
Walking up and down the steep steps can be tricky for the handicapped or older folks.

A really stunning location. Rooms are lovely. A few reviews mentioned breakfast we found it fine. It's a typical Thai hotel breakfast. Our aircon broke and we were upgraded. The location is simply stunning. Snorkeling decent. Sadly no baby sharks.
People have mentioned the stairs. They weren't too bad at all. Certainly wouldn't put me off. However the food in the restaurant really needs improvement. It was shocking.. The pizza inedible. Thai dishes were either very spicy (for context I lived in Thailand for 5years and am. Used to spice) or bland or oily. Also the insects. We had several cockroavhes and thousands of ants. Rooms should have a spray supplied to deal with them. I didn't sleep too well as I was worried cockroavhes would crawl on us after finding 2 on the bed.
2.0 / 10.0
When we arrived at the hotel, the staff spoke very poor English. The room we booked had a sea view... unfortunately we got a room with a huge tree in front of it so you couldn't see anything of the sea. the room was dirty!! there was hair everywhere, brown spots on the ground (mud) The glasses and coffee cups in the breakfast room are dirty! the pool beds are falling apart a bit depending on how old they are. The towels you shower with are the same towels used at the pool... Really dirty In short, a really bad hotel and I would never come back here.

beautiful setting over looking the beach and ocean. Great snorkelling from the beach. Relaxing and peaceful. Lovely staff nothing too much trouble for them. It is hilly and where we were a lot of steps.

The resort is out of the way and a total escape from the world. The beach is perfect, clean and sun washed all day. You can paddled a few feet out and see reef sharks, all sorts of tropical fish and some people saw turtles. The resort itself built on a little limb of the island it’s like an island all of its own!
The room was beautiful we had A7 a stand-alone single floor suite. It was breathtaking. Peaceful on another level! It was just bliss!
The pool was beautiful too, the perfect evening spot, wish it stayed open a bit later, closes at 7pm. The pool bar team were both fantastic great bar men, fun and great drinks!
Just the most beautiful place! Definitely for the fit and adventurous type it’s not light work getting around an incredibly hilly area! Not for the faint of heart.
Would have loved loungers on our balcony, such a big balcony with tiny little chairs. Also the tea and coffee in room facilities were non existent no coffee machine or any tea. Our TV didn’t tune at all and absolutely no smart TV - fine for us as we had other means of entertainment.
The lighting was a bit patchy at times in the night around the resort I tripped a few times and scraped my knees.
The resort upkeep is minimal, don’t get me wrong you don’t need much more it’s bliss but there are very tired areas! It’s needs a good injection of money and this place would be a 10/10 world class resort! There’s an old now out of use water slide just lying around and broken things just left in guest areas. A but scruffier thank you like to see.
The restaurant was not good, breakfast is bearable but the actual menu was not for us. We love Thai food so ordered from that initially but things weren’t done well or were unbearably spicy, then we tried more western dishes that were very poor!
10.0 / 10.0
Stunning views, very comfortable beds and staff were amazing. Shuttle bus provided which is helpful.
You are on a hill and need to either taxi or motorbike to get off the resort. However can get a motorbike from reception.
8.0 / 10.0
Beautiful location, surrounded by the best beaches in Koh Tao. Staff is very friendly, view was incredible, possible to rent scooters and snorkeling equipment directly at the resort, free shuttle from and to the ferry and the absolute most comfortable bed i've ever slept on!
Unfortunately breakfast was horrible! Very bland and unappetizing, we only went twice and ended up going out for breakfast for the rest of our stay. The resort has lots and lots of stairs but that's a given, being that it's build on such hilly scenery. The location is also quite far out from the rest of the island but easily reachable by scooter, though the road down is quite steep so be careful.
