Reopened in April 2018 after extensive refurbishment and surrounded by a quiet garden with a terrace outdoor chess and morris, this youth hostel in the center of Bern is just a 5-minute walk from the Swiss Parliament and the Aare River.

It’s incredible located, the staff it’s so nice and it’s very clean. Also with the price it was included the transport and the breakfast perfect deal.

The only thing I didn't like was the pillow, but I guess that's very personal. I didn't find them very comfortable.

Good location only 15 minutes from the main train station and on the outskirts of the busy touristy areas so a nice quiet area. Check in staff were lovely
The building felt very cold and uninviting both outside and inside. The bathrooms were in the main hallway corridor near the staircase so everyone can see you coming and going. The showers, while had hot water were very very basic. The bedrooms were simple and offered fresh bedding but did not have bathroom towels, you cannot hire from reception so BYO towel. Getting to the property is downhill, so if you’re travelling with a large suitcase be aware it’s a very steep hill down with stairs and ramps. There is a gondola nearby that can be used for €1.50 each way which was helpful
