Wont go back, far too expensive for a 1* hotel room standard...

Breakfast and friendly staff.

1. Room needs fully updated 2. Hairdryer not working. 3. Bed linen need updating. 4. Shower case/screen filthy at the bottom. 5. Corridor and stairs carpet needed hoovered. 6. Cost a lot of money for rooms at a 1* level.

Convenient location. Great to have secure off-road parking even though it is additional cost.

The location was very convenient for my work at Bristol University, which was just a short walk away. The single room was comfortable and good value, providing just what I needed for the brief visit, all clean with nice toiletries. The staff were very friendly and helpful, both on reception and those serving food. Having Racks bar and restaurant on site down in the cellars was the best thing of all. After a long and tiring day, I was so glad that I didn't have to leave the building to get a really good evening meal in a convivial atmosphere. Coming down to breakfast in the same place was a bonus too. Altogether, I would thoroughly recommend a stay at the Clifton!

Room was exceptional - bed was very comfortable and warm (even a little too comfortable as I didn' want to get up) Staff were brilliant throughout the stay - always helpful and friendly and engaging in conversation

Lovely stay

The hotel was beautiful, great location close to Clifton Village and not a far walk to the city centre. The staff were lovely and friendly. Our room was also really nice, clean with a very comfy bed and nice bedding. Would definitely come back

Clean, comfortable, affordable, well-located, but not a great shower

Brilliant location with good value for money. Perfect for a long weekend away.

The shower wasn’t the best — there was very variable water pressure and there were times when it was set to the max but still only dripping instead of giving a proper shower. Sometimes it was fine and other times it was really difficult to use, and if I had been there longer or it had been more consistently a problem I would probably have asked for a different room.

Hotel is in a great location, friendly staff and added bonus of car parking (payable) or on street parking, quite hard to find at times in Bristol. Bars, restaurants & shops all in walking distance.

Decor is a bit tired in places, our curtains didn’t fully draw together but didn’t affect our stay.

Wonderful place to stay in Clifton!

Staff were fantastic! All so friendly and laid back - lovely balance of attentive but hands off. Especially young lady with glasses and redish hair from Reception and blonde young lady serving breakfast. Location is gorgeous right in the heart of Clifton, a short walk from both the city centre and the suspension bridge/Clifton village. Lovely quiet road and our preference for a quiet room was met perfectly! Breakfast was wonderful and everywhere was clean.

Good value hotel.

The receptionist very helpful as she moved me to a quieter room. It was noisy that night but I knew this in advance so it was fine.

The bed was very lumpy (room 33) and the floor was wet - i think the shower was leaking. Also the window was open with a casing over it. I would have liked to close the window as it was noisy.

Good location, clean and the beds and bedding were excellent, I got a good nights sleep.

The room was clean the bed was comfortable,there was a larger than normal selection of tea coffee and biscuits and even fruit , and although I didn’t use the mini bar it was reasonably priced

There wasn’t really anything not to like , but if was going to say anything the bathroom was very small but was able to do everything ok

It's a little old and tired. The parking in the area is AWFUL ! Good if you can get in the small garage but if not it's horrible, it's expensive and good luck finding a place.

Very friendly staff very accommodating Really loved the restaurant , the decor and the atmosphere were great and our dinner and breakfast were superb

Nice hotel in a quiet location. The room was cosy and clean (apart from the carpet which to be honest could be replaced with a different kind of flooring). There was tea, coffee and fruit in the room which was very nice. Bathroom super clean, great shower. Wonderful staff (Flo at reception).

Very spacious double room with a comfortable bed and good bathroom. Friendly staff, pleasant reception.

No sockets near bed for charging, room was not cleaned during my stay, noisy heating when it came on in the very early morning. Ground floor room over a noisy bar so no good if you wanted an early night.

Room was ‘tired’ and although it had been cleaned and bed linen, towels etc. were fresh, I felt it hadn’t had a deep clean for a long time.
