Always a great stay. Staff are welcoming, rooms are so comfortable, clean and stylish with the most ridiculously big showers you've ever seen, could probably fit 10 people if you were that way inclined... Food is excellent, breakfast particularly. Breakfast

The receptionist was very helpful and check-in was easy. We were in the Beringer room which is large with a great bathroom. Unfortunately the air-con/heating unit was broken and not heating the room. However there was an oil radiator in the room. We also couldn't call reception directly due to the lack of a phone, so had to call the main number from a mobile. Breakfast was good, but we arrived late so didn't see the full array pastries on offer. The hotel needs a little work in some areas, having said that I would still recommend this hotel.

Lovely building, the old sugar house in the city centre. Bedrooms are large. Restaurant is spacious, French cuisine, very tasty and not cheap! (as you would expect).

The location was great and the room decor was cool, but the building is older and so there’s not really any soundproofing between floors or from the hallway/outside. The earplugs the hotel graciously provided couldn’t quite bridge that gap.

Room was lovely with nice bathroom but staff weren’t overly friendly. Had our dog with us and on previous visits to this and other Hotel du Vin we have been provided with a dog bed in the room but on this visit a bed wasn’t provided even though we advised in advance that he would be with us which was disappointing.

The room was absolute beautiful and I loved the little touches. The feature walls, double bath and shower were stunning. The bed was comfortable and I liked the separate sofas area. I loved the dim lighting, it added to the ambience and the tvs were huge. Its probably the best room I have ever stayed in. It was cold in the room and I had spoken to reception to turn the heating on but it was still cold. None of the radiators worked but the room was large and I assumed it will take some time to heat up. By that time, I got in to bed and warmed up. Becarful of the hot taps, they were very very hot!

From the moment we arrived the staff was amazing , we checked in early as going to a festival. Amazing staff , good quality room as they always are. Came back in evening had a drink in the bar, friendly staff and great service, breakfast the next morning was really nice , all fresher cooked and great selection

The bathroom needs more thinking: couldn't get to the shampoo/conditioner whilst having bath (had to get out of the bath tub naked and walk around to get some shampoo and repeat!). The bathroom floor got easily flooded due to the water overflow from the bath tub or shower splash - a major risk for slipping. The bathroom doors had too much glass - another major risk of injuries when going to toilet half-asleep. Final point: my original room didn't have a desk - a major issue for business travellers!

Lovely stay. Staff couldn’t have been nicer. We were treated like VIPs - even our dog got his own bowls, bed and goodie bag. The hotel is in a beautiful old building but with great modern comforts (air-con especially welcome during the recent heatwave). The Classic room we stayed in was huge as was the bathroom. All in all a great stay. Thank you!

Very comfortable king-size bed, pillows, and linens. Roll top bath and shower in a huge bathroom. Great toiletries and other amenities such as bottles of spring water. The food was very good, especially the breakfast. Everything was perfect and everyone was friendly. Even my nine year old was raving about it!

Very convenient location, very spacious bedroom. The bathroom of our Deluxe room was amazing (bath and shower). Nicely decorated, lots of charm to stay in this historic building. Beautiful breakfast room. The breakfast suited our needs but some could miss the cold cuts.

We stayed for four nights, our first time in Bristol. The hotel was a choice we would happily make again. The location was very good, being central and easily accessed (we travelled there by train; I imagine a car would be an encumbrance. The room was spacious and clean and the staff were very helpful. We ate one evening meal in the hotel bistro, which was good and reasonably priced. Our breakfasts were excellent - especially to be commended was that they were able to provide very good choice and care for the one of us who has Coeliac disease.
