Great location, large room, excellent staff.

Good sized room and, having requested a quiet room with a bath, I was glad to have both. Very comfortable, firm bed. Lovely bedlinen, and four pillows on the double bed, all soft and very comfortable. Hotel at great location on Harbourside with parking next door if needed, with a door from car park into hotel. Pleasant, very warm, lounge area with soft sofas and chairs and music, and a bar (Gin and tonic £9), with the 'River Grille' downstairs for an excellent breakfast (gluten free bread available on request), and lunch or dinner if required. Staff were exemplary, very smartly dressed, polite, unobtrusive yet friendly, and with excellent training. Two of them remembered my name which either demonstrated high levels of professionalism - or I looked strangely memorable.

The room (5th floor) was very cold. I requested a portable heater and one was brought immediately. It was required whenever I was in the room, and I brought a much-needed hot water bottle for the nights. The bathroom was very small and would have benefitted from a sliding door.

The extra touches dressing gowns and slippers nice coffee in the room and provision of water. Like the fact they recycle ♻️ with mini bins separating recycling rubbish

The noise of the traffic outside, kept waking us up! We were at tge front of the hotel and u wouldn't want to stay there again for that reason. I went home feeling more tired than ever. 112 pounds for no sleep!

Nice hotel spoiled by a noisy bedroom.

hotel was in a great location. public areas were very comfortable .everything was clean and tidy.

Bedroom was extremely noisy due to being close to the pubs and clubs. The double glazing was next to useless and although my room was on the 4th floor I could hear peoples conversations as they walked past the hotel so with loud music and people shouting I didn't get to sleep until the early hours of the morning. I did mention the noise to reception and was advised that next time that I stay to ask for an inside room which apparently are quieter .

Great weekend escape!

Perfect location, everything within a short walk but just far enough away from the noisy bits. The room was spotless, the linens very comfy, and the staff at reception, the bar and the domestics were pleasant, helpful, and made the experience all the better.

The location of The Bristol is ideal for seeing the sights of Bristol. We loved that it was so close to the water. The car park next door with adjoining floors to the hotel was v easy. Space was a bit tight for our Volvo though.

Excellent location but average quality.

Room was comfortable but very small. It overlooked the canal which was lovely. The restaurant staff are very friendly and accommodating.

The bar and restaurant were extremely noisy. Seems to be the kind of place groups of friends meet, drink and are oblivious to other customers who want a quiet drink. Although the website says it has parking facilities these are actually a commercial car park next door. The hotel has an arrangement and parking costs £18 per night. Afternoons tea is very overpriced. Well presented but very basic.

Perfect location and great stay

The location couldn’t be any better, the staff were all wonderful, the bar and restaurant are stunning places to be, we could’ve sat there for hours. We were able to get room service late, and the room was comfy and clean.

The only thing is because of the location, there is some street noise - this can’t be helped though, you’re either on the road one side or the river on the other, so no complaints!

Tiring, exhausting, wearing

Hotel location, comfortable bed, clean rooms, good breakfast, friendly helpful staff, upmarket public spaces.

On arrival we were offered an upgrade to room 621 on the West elevation facing the river & bars. On our return from the theatre the loud noise (in particular the bass) from the bars made it impossible to sleep and at 01.30am on Sunday morning I called reception. They confirmed the loud noise from the bars was a ongoing problem and they were currently in discussions with the Local Authority in order to resolve. We were offered a change of room, which we accepted, repacked and moved to room 206 on the other side of the hotel away from the river & bars. Having had limited sleep we awoke tied and frustrated.
