Lovely cool room when temperatures hit the mid 30’s! Owners provided fans and there’s a good size fridge with fresh milk and water.

This is just a short walk from the Westbury centre, I went to Il Sapore for an excellent pizza. Effective instructions for access, and the room looked newly redecorated, very well designed (I liked the wardrobe and fridge combi unit), and unusually I quite liked the range of lighting options (I think 6 light switches for mood lighting). Nice to see a good coffee machine. The breakfast was all sorted ready for the morning, pint of milk in the fridge, fresh orange juice, pastries and jam etc. I'd not say the price was cheap, but the days of a decent £100 a night room seem to be past since Covid, so I'll live with the change to the room price environment (and just accept £100 a night is now confined to history, or booking Premier Inn a couple of weeks in advance...) . Parking wasn't abundant on the street but there were a couple of spaces close to the building - I ended up directly opposite the building, so excellent in practice. The village centre is excellent, a couple of late night supermarkets, Italian was very good (in fact an excellent pizza and the top priced wine by the glass, ~£12 for 250ml, was really very good), and there are a couple of highly rated Turkish restaurants, bank etc. Along from the top of the road is a pub and another (the White Horse) in the centre of the shops I think is also well rated for food. On the Wednesday night there was a good turnout of locals in the pubs - so they are doing something right, although I didn't test them out. The owner pinged over a few message to ensure everything was sorted, which was nice, without being intrusive. Even the entrance hall was rather nice - and a useful mirror to check you've not split your breakfast down your shirt...

Well, I still think of a good room being £100, but with rising costs, no doubt 50% tax and costly regulation ~£150 (or £141 in this case including breakfast) seem to be the new baseline. The room was a bit cosy, but there was a seat for watching the telly, a desk, good double bed - and in the cupboard a luggage stool. Bathroom looked like it the builder had only just left (in the sense of pristine, rather than my bathroom when the last plumber had done some recent work and left a right mess everywhere!). So really no issues whatsoever.
