Comfortable stay, not the best location for city access but it’s fine for a short stay.

Staff seemed quite friendly, comfortable bed, shower (when there was hot water) was good.

Felt more like a B&B than a hotel, staff were nice but maybe slightly inexperienced, didn’t have hot water after my second night and it wasn’t mentioned/brought to attention - for me the location was a little further out than I’d have liked but obviously that’s no fault of their own.

I loved the shower, what a great clock, it gives you the temperature and how much water you have taken for your shower.

The girls are sweet but incapable to make any decisions, the hotel really needs management to oversee and make it a better place to stay.

Comfortable, clean room in a perfect location for my needs. Would recommend.

Smooth check-in. Room really nice and just what was needed for a restful night. Breakfast not taken so cannot comment.

3 non major room issues reported to Reception on Check Out and all duly noted. Maybe a more thorough attention to pre stay room prep. Not enough to stop another stay.

Would only return if had same room, was very quiet

The room was lovely and so was the bathroom. We were in the annexe part of the hotel but the main hotel had a smell of sewage as we walked through. Heating doesn’t come on until 5pm so room was cold but a blow heater was provided. Location was good

The breakfast was brilliant, beatifully presented and in a lovely room. Very well organised, plently of options. Quick attentive and friendly service

The room I stayed in was an odd shape with strange window positions but it was in an old stone outbuilding so it was probably the best job that could be done. Very comfortable, with extra heater, duvet blanket, plus all the usual stuff. Lovely new bathroom.

Friendly staff, great location to where we were going for a party. Breakfast was lovely and good selection of cereals too. The room was lovely, great lighting and size.

Only filter coffee or tea available which was fine but I would have liked a few more coffee options.

Comfortable and within easy reach of the areas we needed to visit.

Breakfast was good and delivered promptly, evening meal, when we had one was also good, room was comfortable and warm. Staff were attentive and professional throughout our stay. It was really good to have off road parking.

Some noise due to rush hour traffic, you could think about adding interior glazing to reduce that.

If Old Buildings Could Talk, What Stories They'd Tell.

Occasion was an away match at nearby Clifton Rugby Club. Henbury Lodge fitted the bill as we could leave the car and walk 20 mins to the ground. Upon arrival - way before normal check-in time, we were met with a friendly welcome and allowed access to our room early - a nice relax after a long car journey. The room was large, clean and comfortable. In the evening the magnificent Blaise Inn was less than 2 minutes' walk, with beer, food and staff excellent. Breakfast in the hotel was very good indeed, and set us up for the day and the journey home. All in all a lovely atmospheric old building providing congenial accommodation. Would we return? - if our teams play again next season then would certainly like to.

Well I suppose we could have won the match.... Can't have everything.

I would recommend the Henbury Lodge

The room was much bigger than I expected, with nice views over the garden. It was very clean and the bed was very comfotable. I had the breakfast and it was very good.

It was a shame the restaurant wasn't open, the menu looked good and the prices reasonable.

Easy to find. Warm welcome from receptionist and very helpful. Fabulous location for being near city but far enough out for quiet location. Great room, clean and comfy. Quaint hotel.

Staff was lovely

First impression, dirty reception. Then receptionist told us no dinner service tonight. Very disappointing. Was in Bristol to drop eldest daughter off at University, booked a hotel nearby for the convenience of popping back to her later on. Not a clever move! You live and you learn. Still had to leave to get dinner. Great staff! Shame I assumed we could have dinner and drinks after arriving…

Charming and hospitable lodging, and excellent customer service.

We arrived quite late but still received a warm welcome at reception, and were given useful information about our stay. The bedroom was comfortable and spacious, and the facilities were very satisfactory. Breakfast was lovely and we enjoyed the peace and quiet of the location.

There wasn't much room left in the car park when we arrived, and entering the driveway from the main road was a little awkward (we understood this was just a feature of the property).

Very close to a very busy crossroads. Traffic noise exceptional - only single-glazed windows; hence no sleep. The place looks very tired - needs a good clean and decent decor.

Good location, well appointed, fantastically helpful staff, bike friendly, good breakfast, good bar. And ceiling fan! Beautiful gardens well maintained and good pubs nearby

It was twice as much to stay on the Saturday than it was on the Sunday night and the restaurant is not open at weekends. Other than that it was a lovely stay

Reasonably priced hotel for Bristol with easy access from the motorways

Very comfortable stay in a relatively reasonably priced hotel for Bristol conveniently located outside the city centre. This was a repeat visit and the hotel did not disappoint. I would visit again.

I was a little disappointed that some of the fittings in the room I stayed in were beginning to wear. However I expect this shows how popular the hotel has been.

As above. The staff tried hard but unable to fix traffic noise

The traffic noise was unbearable. We noted other people complained. We were moved but then too hot and had to open the windows and had to put up with the noise. These rooms were still being sold despite complaints . That felt like cheating to us as they clearly know! We were at a wedding and it was totally spoiled by having no sleep
