Filton Guest House

The room was clean and the en-suite was fine. The guest house is next to a main road and our room faced it, but it was very quiet with the windows closed. The building retains some of its original Victorian features, which was interesting.

We were there during the June heatwave. The room did not have air conditioning and it was very hot. If we opened the windows the noise from the main road was intrusive. Note that the guest house is near Southmead hospital, so there are frequent ambulances with sirens going down the main road. We were on the first floor; apparently, the heat was worse on the top floor. Note that I certainly would not expect air conditioning at the price charged by this guest house. Stifling rooms in a heatwave is a common problem with budget accommodation.

Convenient and clean and good value for money.

The breakfast option was poor, also the remote control for the tv didn’t work.

Lovely friendly host who met us upon arrival. Clean accommodation, with all the basics like tea provided. Clean bathroom. Cosy room which was quiet and ok for sleep. It was pretty much a good deal for the price. There is a bus outside on the main road, which is ideal to get into the city centre. Lovely old Victorian building with original features retained like stained glass windows, which I loved.

Carpet in room needs changing as it is tired and not clean. The fact you have to pay by debit card at the property, and cannot use a credit card might be an issue for some guests.

Bed was comfortable

Breakfast was a disgrace and rip off the shower doesn’t drain and the wardrobe is filthy
