Another great short stay, I will return on my next visit.

Been here a few times, always very friendly and helpful staff, the facilities excellent, the hotel clean and tidy, including the room, great value for money and an excellent location, always able to park and always a great experience and I will return on my next visit. Did not do breakfast this visit due to being in a rush to my meeting next morning.

Close to Southmead Hospital

We needed accommodation near to Southmead Hospital while my dad was being treated following a stroke. Filton Guest House came up on my booking.com search at an affordable price. The room was warm, spacious and comfortable with a small shower/basin/toilet room built into the corner. A kettle and tea/coffee was provided in the room and it have a TV and electric sockets. So we had everything we needed and were able to stay for 2 nights.

I was not able to contact the owner by phone (the number rang and eventually cut off) but I was able to email to arrange for a second night's stay. Not sure if this was a temporary problem or if the number on the business card was wrong.

It was cheaper than the nice expensive hotels. Although it ended up being £95 for a single bedroom with a window in the ceiling, shower no bath. This includes the extended hours up to 12pm.

There were 3 flights of stairs to the single bedroom, very hard with a suitcase. Very little space to open suitcase in single bedroom.

I liked the entrance hallway. Lovely welcome from the owner and explained what to do with the key when leave The room was a single room it was very cosy and warm so I will comment on the little room As tiny as it is it’s perfect It was perfect for a night or two stay The shower was good once it has heated up after 3 min running The towels were fluffy and white and again a radiator to hang your towel when getting out of the shower There are windows that open wide for air and a small open closet The tv had plenty of channels There was tea and coffee in the room and the bedding was white and felt and smelt clean There’s a small dressing table and mirror on the wall the carpet was clean and apart from the next door couple banging until 1am and again around 8eberhhting was great Please leave some soap in the shower!!!

The walls seemed thin I could here noise from the customers downstairs when passing it was loud There was no free breakfast Only for additional charge of £12 It was ok there’s a Tesco yards down the road The shower had NO soaps at all To take a shower on Arrival and settle in I was sad they had nothing there I had to use some hand soap on the sink I didn’t like that part The noise from next door was hell until 1am they were banging the door it’s a fire exit door leaving it slam and talking and banging my wall and again early so I had 5:6 hours sleep not good and no one downstairs was around to hear this or check We were placed together when there were many free rooms I wondered why couldn’t people get some space spread out

Worthwhile and suited my needs

Quiet, nice single bedroom, good shower, comfortable bed, everywhere clean, price, tv, kettle, safe, private, old style (nice) guest house. I’m grateful to find single rooms anywhere, for solo traveller budget.

The price is good because it’s some distance from city centre.

We had the most perfect stay.

Property was a converted old house, perfectly configured for a guest house. The room was really large the en-suite was really good size, the bed was really comfy with plenty of storage Staff were very friendly and accommodating, nothing was too much trouble.

One slight criticism was not much lighting by the front door

Did not feel at all welcome!

The Welcome was awful! On booking, I completed the section that says I am travelling for work and paying with a business credit card. On arrival the host insisted that i could only complete my payment with cash or debit card, I explained that i only have a company credit card that the booking was made with and was told then i would not be able to stay there and as it was less than 48 hours to check in, i would be charged full amount for cancellation!!! I finally got to the bottom of it that the host did not want to pay some kind of fee to booking.com and so she charged me an extra £4.50. Another guest who heard the conversation sympathised with me, that it was only that he was able to go to the cash machine, that he could stay, but that he was going to be charged a fee for drawing cash out on his credit card. All sounded like tax evasion to me. I suggested that if she didn't want to have to pay fees, that she should increase the room rate to cover it!

I arrived somewhat flustered due to my sat nav !! In fairness due to road works was slightly odd journey to hotel!!! However the greeting, support help and kindness of owner on my arrival was so understanding kind and helpful I quickly recovered and relaxed and had a very good nights sleep per🤗

We had room one, extremely loud, people passing by and landlord chatting with guest just next to room while we were trying to sleep, very annoying . Water in the shower warm, not hot enough. The beds were comfortable and room was spacious. Quick response on the phone (while you trying to find car park is important)

The guest house description was accurate and it did exactly what it said it did - and was exceptionally clean and well p

Location was good and the off road parking excellent as was the really outstanding breakfast

My room was on the third floor and there were no lifts. The owner asked if he could help me carry my bags - but I declined. There seemed a good fire alarm system but escape in the event of a fire would be extremely difficult. The addition of abseiling kit would be very strongly recommended as well as smoke hoods. To me this was a real concern. There seemed to be a lot of rules and regulations- it was good that it left nothing to chance. But it was a bit “in your face”. Finally the WiFi was poor and stopped working completely.

One of the few guest houses I have enjoyed staying in and would certainly revisit

Staff were very friendly on arrival and at breakfast. The property was clean and tidy with plenty of parking at the rear of the property (once I managed to find it)

My room was on the top floor so took a long time for hot water to come to come through the sink and shower (a lot of wasted water!)

The guest house was easy to find with parking at the rear but also on a direct bus route into Bristol. The room was clean, the bed was comfy with TV and kettle.

The room and bathroom were small and access was up steep stairs with a heavy fire door ( necessary, I understand) making entry into the room difficult when laden with luggage.
