Would stay again without looking anywhere else

Even if we wanted to be mega fussy, it would be difficult to find any complaints. Reception staff v good at arrival and departure. Room was quite small, but not a problem for us. Bathroom good with plenty of hot water. Breakfast cooked to order and excellent. Everywhere v clean. Will certainly use if in Bristol again. May not be ideal for clients coming by car, but not applicabke to us.

Used to be great now a bit jaded and faded.

Good location. Marta receptionist was lovely, kind and helpful. 3 bed room was what we needed. Breakfast was freshly cooked, generous and tasty. Hot chocolate sachets in the room appreciated by the kids. And the honesty snack bar.

It feels as though the owners have sort of given up a bit, it used to be super stylish and now it’s in need of significant maintenance and love. There were damp patches with paint peeling off the ceiling in 3 places in our room and really badly in the shower. The remote control was filthy. My bed was really rickety an creaked badly. The mattress protector on my daughter’s bed was stained. The sheets barely covered the beds and the mattresses were comfortable but you can feel the springs with your hands. The bathroom was once the height of style but now looks tired with grouting peeling my away and cheap toiletries. Downstairs the lounge furniture hasn’t changed in 15 years it feels. It isn’t bad value for money but I really did expect it to be a lot smarter. As I say it feels like the hotel have sort of given up because guests don’t treat things nicely or steal things or something…Also given the lack of parking, a service to help get bags in would be appreciated especially as I was travelling alone with two kids. We are now in a much cheaper less stylish hotel overall but it’s spotless a the fittings are new so it shows what to can do.

Loved it, will choose again.

This is a lovely property, right in the heart of the centre. Easy to walk to the waterside, Park Street. We loved it. They have a deal with a nearby car park, although weren’t able to process the small concession when we were there. This was only a few £ though.

Great place under poor management/maintenance/cleaning.

Location is great and roll was quiet despite the location. The bathroom was nice yet the shower head support was broken.

Bed was damp and the room smelled funny. We were given an upgrade to some caravans that were on the roof... So you need to get under the rain too get to them... But these are cold and the noisy from the party area is just too much... Si we ended up taken from the caravan the freed bed clothes and the towels and use them on our original room... All of this as we arrive at 1am. Not happy with that specially because it was obvious they make the bed meanwhile the mattress was still damp. The mattress itself was on its last days of life, very soft.

Excellent location for O2 Academy, but incredibly positioned for a trip to Bristol centre. not far from car park. Staff attitude was superb and friendly. The Room was what we needed. Breakfast was excellent and plentiful.

Nice guesthouse with family-run feel

Nice little hidden-in-plain-sight place opposite St Nick's market. Central and very close to bars, restaurants and clubs. Friendly staff were happy to help with luggage storage and the breakfast was delicious.

The proximity to bars and clubs and no sound proofing meant that we had a disturbed night's sleep. The room was also extremely warm, and opening the windows would have made the noise situation worse!

Roof Top Airstream Caravans

Quirky roof top airstream caravans were definitely a change from the usual rooms. But be prepared for a squeeze with very little space! And if it rains, it's rather noisy. But the roof top location is great.

Hadn't realised how small the caravans would be. The bathroom was very tight and the sink drained very, very slowly.

Hotel is lovely and if it wasn’t for the loud music we would have had the best sleep as the beds were super comfy.

The room was a good size and the beds were very comfy. We loved the feathered pillows and duvets. I liked that the room had three single beds as me and my children hate having to share a double bed in other hotels.

Being above night clubs was so loud. I should have researched the location better. It’s perfect if you want a night out but we were a family needing to visit the children’s hospital.

Perfect stay in a perfect location in Bristol.

Room was perfect for a one night stay. It was a bit hot so we had to have the window open which was a bit noisy at night but it didn't bother us as we live in London.

Breakfast could have been better. What was on offer was good but the food wasn't cooked in a way I would expect when cooked individually.

Comfortable and good value and excellent customer service.

This is the second stay for me and it did not disappoint. Comfortable rooms in an excellent location with great service thrown in. Didn't have time for breakfast this time but from what I recall and from what I saw as I was checking out it looked fabulous. I love the sound of the city at night and the noise of the beautiful St Nicholas markets waking up the next morning but it's just background noise and didn't prevent me from getting an excellent nights sleep. Perfect for a quick business trip or a city break.

Brookes Guest House Bristol.

Great location 10 minute walk from train st and another 10 minute walk to Bristol Beacon where we were going. Very friendly and helpful staff and the guest house and room were very clean tidy and comfortable. Breaky was available but we never had it. Over all this was a very pleasant and cosy place to stay.

The room was clean, and I liked the room decor, which was different to most hotels. I liked their hot drinks selection (tea, coffee and hot chocolate).

It would've been nice to have a foldable chair or stand in the room, to place your luggage on.

Quirky, noisy, central

Quirky, central, lovely fresh breakfast

Really noisy and toilet smelled of urine really bad, it needed a good steam clean … spayed some perfume and got over it, it was more about the experience for us in the airstream

Sorry but without basic TV we will not be returning, even though everything else was good

It's the only UK hotel we've ever stayed in where the television does not receive BBC or ITV unless you have a technology degree. Twice the receptionists came up to sort it for us which they did with some difficulty but without a permanent fix, so BBC was lost every time the TV turned off. We wasted far too much time trying to sort it, and it was stressful when we simply wanted to relax.

Great place, would definitely stay again!

Lovely and clean, staff at front desk were happy and polite, really liked the fact after hours the main gates out front were locked - gave an extra level of security, we stayed in the caravans on the roof - so quirky and fun!

No lights up on the roof so very dark when we got home
