What a cool concept to convert the old castle to a modern hotel.

Fabulous hotel!

The studio room was spacious and warm with lovely underfloor heating in the bathroom, which had Rituals products in it. The bed was enormous and super comfy! The breakfast delivered in a basket was superb, complemented by Nespresso coffee made using the machine in our room. The staff were friendly and the surroundings of the hotel very attractive. We enjoyed our walk down to the marina and along the river. The location was perfect for MECC where we were booked for a concert. The restaurant next door, situated in the old stables but independent from the hotel, was also outstanding. We had a very high quality meal there for a reasonable price. We were very impressed and will definitely be coming back! Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Modern twist

This unique stylish hotel made for a quiet wonderful night stop the rooms are stylish modern and functional to every detail yet keeping the older charm , extremely quiet and a good nights sleep was had awoken with a morning breakfast basket which was very generous with warm bread and egg 🥚 ham cheeses spreads smoothie and ham yogurts. The staff at reception were welcoming and helpful The surrounding gardens at immaculate and I sat in the little walled garden for a while very relaxing it was very positive for my small dog as plenty of green space for her I will definitely return if in the area again The restaurant adjoining the hotel was amazing as well.

If you dream to live in a Castle, this is the place to stay.

We organised our daughter's wedding at the Kasteel de Hoogenweerth. Friends and family came by car and plane from different places and stayed overnight at the Kasteel. The team was exceptional and very professional. The Manager controlled himself every detail of the wedding celebration — even down to drying the bride’s joyful tears. 😊 We had a truly wonderful time, and the feedback we received about the venue, service, and ceremony has been overwhelmingly positive. We also truly appreciated a kind note and delicious sweets waiting for us in the King’s Room — such a thoughtful touch. We highly recommend the place. It allows you to dream living in a Kasteel for a while :-)

Pretty but has downfalls

The apartment was large and the grounds were quite nice

Unfortunately there were some issues. 1. Noise from a car near by till 11:45pm blaring music. 2. Some sort of animal was in the wall behind the headboard at 4:50am. 3. The breakfast basket was only avialable at 9am at the earliest and I had to depart at 8:30am, wish there was an earlier option. 4. The lighting in the living space was very minimal. 5. I could hear the people in the next room chatting in the morning. They were not loud, just thin walls. Overall, unfortunately for the price I was not satisfied.

Nice stay in a small castle, friendly staff, nice land for a walk, good spots for celebrations

We got an upgrade to the (I think) the best suit in the castle because of some problems with the airco in our booked room (not in the castle). The original room was nice and cozy, but definitely the upgrade was terrific and a 'there-is-no-way-back' and 'wow' situation. The breakfast basket brought to the room was delicious, with lots of fresh food. The staff was super nice. Good shower with very good water pressure and at the temperature you wish. Super good shower gels and lotions (Pune... I didn't know the brand). The terrain of the castle is super nice to go for a walk and explore a little bit the nature. And the little terrace by the water of the Maas river is a primal spot for a breakfast or an end-of-the-day drink. And the Sofa restaurant (independently from the castle) in the premises was superb.

Parking in front of the rooms can be complicated, either it's full with just a few spots or it's very tiny to maneuver. If the parking lot is full, it is likely that you have to go all the way back backwards, so you can park in the designated area for the Sofa restaurant, which is not far at all but it can be complicated for some 'non-skilled' drivers, as I could see happening during my stay.

Pleasant stay overnight

Nice property. Very pretty. We liked the space as there was a large bathroom with twin shower, 2 large bedrooms and living room. Nice snacks available inc drinks. Beds were comfortable Pleasant breakfast selection

We got there on a really hot day looking forward to a swimming pool but found an algae filled small pool with frogs in. Told by receptionist it would be clean by later that day or early tomorrow but that wasn’t true. There were plates but no cooking facilities so went out and bought an air fryer locally. Lots of noise from jet skis on the local river. No on hand help after about 5pm. Overall an expensive night stay.

location and property are very nice, very large rooms, free minibar. there is a restaurant walking distance, welcoming receptionist, airconditioned. lovely picknick basket for breakfast

the bathrooms facilities are so poor in the room we booked , no amenities, no shower cap, no large body mirror. lots of light *no proper shades. main problem is that from 17:00 on words there is no Reception , just phone number and they are not easy to reach. the property's pool was dirty and could not be in use (30 degrees in June....) and the tables around the pool were totally dirty (for the picknick breakfast), so all and all not what we expected from this kind of hotel level

The Kasteel parking lot is veeeery small and if (as in our case) it is already full, turning your car around would be impossible. We got recommended to park at the SOFA parking spot, though we would have liked to know that beforehand.

Luxe but not super comfortable stay

An interesting old property in a lovely location convenient to Maastricht. Amazing in-room breakfast.

So-called ‘romantic’ style suite puts bathroom and bedroom in same space, no options. No separate shower or way of curtaining off bathroom space, so any leakage or spray gets all over bed, suitcases etc. unless you are extremely careful. At least toilet is separate. Ground floor floor-to-ceiling windows looking onto the communal parking lot basically means you have to keep all curtains closed until you are comfortable with being seen. Coffee making facilities in bedroom but no tea making. Impossible to actually regulate heat with remote control provided. Basically, a lot of focus on ‘design’ features without thinking about what design might be most comfortable for guests.

Location is on outskirts of Maastricht beside Marina. Short drive to city centre. Rooms were quaint and comfortable

Hotel seemed under resourced and staff seemed distracted with a wedding over two days. Was not advised re food/ restaurant or breakfast arrangements upon checking in. No receptionist for most of morning on day 2. Bath in studio was leaking with towel surrounding pipework.

Exceptional

We absolutely loved our suite at the castle. It was so spacious and luxurious, the decor was fabulous , it was gave us a real Chateau experience. The mini-bar items were tasteful and complimentary, as we're the Espresso tea and coffee facilities. The grounds and whole setting are amazing.

Wow factor rooms in a lovely building with some of the best staff anywhere.

Stay relates to main suites in castle. If you want the wow factor this is it. Rooms are amazing, acres of room stylish, unusual features and a great sense of occasion when you arrive at the entrance hall. Staff are fantastic. They all really went the extra mile sorting out the restaurants, taxis and extending our cycle hire. They are the hotels greatest asset. Thank you. This was the last night on our 4 week European tour and really hit the brief for an exceptional stay in a lovely hotel. It could not have worked out better.

Gatehouse is unusual and quirky with some great features. Staff are amazing. Loved it.

Stay in the gatehouse. Room was much bigger than expected. Very dramatic with free standing bath and lots of quirky features. Staff are fantastic. Very helpful- organising bikes, hotel transfers, information etc. We could not have met nicer people.

Amazing property

The castle is very close to the city center by car, it’s a beautiful property with amazing gardens. The bathtub was really nice and the bed was comfortable. The staff is very nice.

The cleanliness was not the best, there were a lot of cobwebs (even though the ceilings are high, it’s nothing an extensible duster can’t fix). The pillows are very uncomfortable and the automatic light in the toilet was annoying. We could not set the temperature ourselves, the room was very hot.

we had a little problem in the hotel. since the reception was no longer manned, we chose the specified service number. A contact person reported who immediately dealt with our problem and took care of us all around. A very big compliment and many thanks it was a very nice stay
