A nice stay

Location View, ducks/swans/boat Staff Shower Lounge Manager allowed us to switch cabins from the bank side to face the river.

Bathroom sink. Unable to wash your face because the glass shelf was in the way. No hot water to sink Noise coming from other cabins and children running on top deck. Double bed wooden base on one side squeaks when laying on it so moved to single bed to sleep. Banging shower door.(Needs securing at bottom level). Not enough hooks to hang up things. The TRV on the radiator may not be working properly, and the radiator is not fully secure to the wall. Top lights are damaged and perhaps LED lights would be softer as the lights were quite bright and push button solar light fitted next to the bed could be an idea so one can read a book.

COLD

The location is close to the city center and all of the walking routes. The price is really good for the city and seems to be fair. The boat is pretty cute and the rooms were quiet.

The place closes its doors at 11pm, so you would have to wait to enter after that time. Also it is INCREDIBLY cold in the room. I stayed in December, and while the corridors were nice and warm, the rooms just don't get any heat. (I do expect it on the boat, and it explains the price haha)

Convenient but not great

Location is amazing, just at a small walking distance of the city center. Parking very close by & nice experience to stay at a boat

The rooms are very small. Some did have a sink, others didn’t (for the same price). In some rooms, the beds really aren’t made for two people. Towels are way too small. (I recommend taking your own) Quite expensive for what you get in return.

Auto check-in and checkout is not great

Stayed in family room and there was ample space. Nice decor. Nice amenities and supplies.

Self check-in didn't work clearly, plus the electronic door has a flat battery, so we had to wait outside for a long time before someone came. When checking out, the computer said I had to pay another fee. When I went to speak to reception they said I'd already paid. Fortunately I hadn't tapped my card. But I nearly did. I was not the only guest who struggled with this

A great romantic quaint Botel, in a beautiful location in Maastricht

Botel offers you a romantic quaint place to stay, but as a boat transformed into a hotel, the bathroom service is adequate but not great. I don't know if Botel has more upmarket rooms on offer, but it is very much a basic boat cabin facilities, not at a level of a hotel. Having said this, for one night only that we were staying in Maastricht, it was perfect. The staff was very helpful and kind, the breakfast was very good, the beds were comfortable. I have not been anywhere else in Maastricht to be able to compare it price/quality/services on offer, but for one night, for us, it was just right.

I don't know. I can only assume that to make it better it would have to have a refit in order to make the rooms bigger to accommodate for a better ensuite, but then Botel would loose customers capacity, making it very pricey. Not easy.

Quaint

The staff were amazing! Could not fault Great idea and unique experience staying on a boat

Beds were uncomfortable. Walls were so thin you could hear entire conversations from each room. They’re were people walking around through the night that would wake you up from the walls being thin. The towels were tiny. The door to the Beth room was non existent - what’s the point in having one? Overall this is fine however, severely overpriced for what you receive, especially for other hotels or hostels with similar or lower prices. I think that’s probably left the worst impression!

Disappointing botel stay.

This botel is really not value for money. The photographs are misleading as advertised. Our double room was really cramped and warm. The passage and overhead main area is very noisy in the evening when trying to sleep. The breakfast is also a let down for the prices being paid.

Good sleep in unique setting

Unique setting on quiet river, comfortable bed and good shower.

Some unpleasant smells downstairs, no shelves or hooks for hanging things, very little floor space for belongings.

Great location and perfect to explore the city.

Great location and wonderful staff. We got a fantastic cabin upstairs, making for a perfect one-night stay to visit the wonderful city of Maastricht. We enjoyed a few beers on the upper deck and simply soaked in the moment.

Great location near town centre , on boat parking for Motorcycles

I visited on a motorbike tour , I liked that you could drive the bike down a ramp onto the boat for security. You also have to drive it back up , might be tricky in wet conditions. The deck areas of the boat are very nice , breakfast was nice and you can order beer , coffee etc .

The cabins are really small , especially if you have a lot of motorbike gear . I had a room with two beds , one was used to store kit . If this bed was occupied it would be tight .

Quirky excellence

What a quirky way to spend a holiday—in a hotel! It's worth it for the experience alone. Still, the staff was very friendly (especially the Irish guy, big thumbs up), the rooms were small but comfy, and the view of the river was great. It has a terrace, a bar, bathrooms in the rooms and public ones, just a very cool experience overall.

If you have a bathroom in your room the plumbing may smell but we exchanged rooms for one with a public restroom and it was all great. No problems otherwise.

A Special Place

Perfectly located, nice views, lovely restaurant and breakfast. Nice staff.

I didn't realize the room didn't have a bathroom shower. The shared bathroom was very basic. Towels provided were only hand towels. Window was broken so couldn't close. I tripped at the entrance to the boat between the harbor and the boat as the gap to the water water very hard to see. May need a mind your step indicator.

Very good price for value for accommodation, quiet location, helpful staff.

Since we have got the room in the below desk, there was only one tiny window and the room was not spacy. The bunk bed miss a ladder, and there is just a small chair which is not sufficient for older guests. The breakfast is not a value for money, so we decide not to order it.

cleanliness, arrived at 1300 and the toilet paper in the shared bathroom stayed in the bin until the next day, poor ventilation (no fans etc), boat is inclined, at 2300 the nigt shift person ordered everyone to bed. if you wanted to enjoy a smoke or see the nigt sky you had to be in tour swealtering cabin or of the boat

Good for quick 1 night stay

Location of the boat, reception staff.

No facilities or any activities on boat, small room and very tight bed. A very small round window on the top of the wall. (Many things still missing as a table in the room, mini fridge, spot lights, insects killer, etc..).
