What an amazing 2 night weekend

We stayed in the junior suite with private sauna and hottub. In one word: fantastic! We read some of the negative reviews on this site and quite frankly we have no idea what everyone is so negative about. We absolutely loved our 2 nights with Ehranger Hof. The room was spotless and very comfortable. Booking.com doesn't do the place justice. The junior suite does have an air conditioner and even a little refrigerator for some cold drinks etc (not an overpriced minibar!). This was not mentioned on the website BTW. The girl at the reception was so friendly and helpful which made our stay feel a little like home. In the morning we had a great breakfast before heading into Trier for the day. After walking around Trier all day we really looked forward to our evening in the very spacious hotel room together. I've never experienced the desire to cut my day sightseeing short to have some extra time in our hotel room. Go figure...

The only thing I can think of which was on the negative side was the experience of booking through booking.com. This website is so confusing and incomplete. But that's not the hotel's fault of course. Next time we'll book by phone. We definitely will be staying at the Ehranger Hof in the future!

payment frustration

The room and the beds were good and relatively cool despite the hot weather.

They claimed we did not pay our room beforehand on two visits a fortnight apart. Table was blocking fire extinguisher in the hallway. Very bad WiFi. Parking is on the sidewalk or on the street a short walk away. The front desk employee mentioned that "their" parking at the other side of the road was not available now because of building activities. The parking lot is in front of the local train station. I am not sure how that can be the hotel parking. They said we had not paid while after checking twice this is something in Booking.com payment according to them. To us it looked like a payment scam. I believe the explanation one time but have trouble believing that on a second visit. Since there was a child present we made no fuzz on both occassions and insisted them to check. It was sorted out on both occassions but a waste of time and frustration. Then there was a fire extinguisher in the hallway with our room blocked by a tabel. I mentiond that on our first visit. They said they should take care of it. Two weeks later it was still there. In the hallway there was something that looked very much like a WiFi accesspoint with too long an ethernet cable coiled up to it and one open RJ45, which should not be accessible to the public. The owner phoned me in German about a bit more Dutch direct version of this review on booking .com and threated with legal action. He restated the problems with booking.com and that they were looking into this. He stated that the table was no problem according to a friend with the local fire department, but that thet removed the table now. He stated that the device in the hallway was not an accesspoint. I have the phone call on file for further reference, which I am allowed to have as a Dutch citizen. I emailed the Trier fire department with the photo and will update this review when I receive an answer. I updated this review given the extra information.

There is nothing to Like about this property. No staff at all and Owner is very rude and aggressive.

I had the worst experience of my Hotel Stay experiences here despite Travelling and staying in 42 countries which can be checked against my record in Booking.com as well. The picture of this property are very deceiving and room is nothing close to what have been shown to us at the time of the booking. There is no mention of Check-in Time during the booking process and it’s Universal Rule that Check-In begins at 15:00. We reached the property at 15:15 and owner/Manager refused to check-In until 16:00 and he was very aggressive and tone of voice is no where near to polite over the phone. The building was locked and it’s not a hotel rather an Apartment building with no reception or any other employees. Only 1 card was issued and we have been refused by the owner to get the other card and have to pay additionally which is very ridiculous. You have to wait outside in smouldering heat and have to waste your precious time just because this business has very less employees. The room that have been given to us lack the cleaning and it was not properly managed in terms of cleanliness during out stay. It has been portrayed on Booking.com that This hotel has Sauna as well but it’s totally wrong and it’s only for 1 Room. The room that we had received doesn’t have the Wooden floor as well as shown in pictures. We stayed here for 3 nights and regretted our decision from the start for staying here. Nobody cleaned the room till 15:00-16:00 next day and bathroom was not clean at all and was like this till our last day in this hotel. On our 3rd day no one came to clean at all and without our consent, no disturb coupon had been placed on our door. We asked the Owner/Manager that we would like to Check-Out at 11:30 AM on our last date which is today and he refused again to compensate us. We Checked-Out today around 8:30 AM then and have to change out whole Travel Plan just because owner didn’t compensate the late Check-Out.

Für eine Nacht ausreichend

Frühstück war seht gut und ausreichend, musste extra hinzugebucht werden. Mit dem Online-Check-In habe ich mich etwas schwer getan. Bushaltestelle und Bahnhof in unmittelbarer Nähe. Restaurant im Hotel , essen war sehr gut.

Wir hatten ein Zimmer zur Hauptstraße hin, bei offenem Fenster war es sehr laut. Zimmer war sehr warm, keine Möglichkeit die Temperatur zu regeln.

Haben uns nicht willkommen gefühlt

Die Fotos auf Booking.com suggerierten uns den Eindruck eines wirklich schönen und gemütlichen Hotels mit Stil, spiegeln aber aus unserer Sicht nicht die Realität wieder. Wir fühlten uns durch die toll belichteten und inszenierten Bilder hinters Licht geführt. Auf uns wirkte das ganze Hotel lieblos und ausgestorben. Die beiden Mitarbeiter*innen ausreichend freundlich, aber unmotiviert und freudlos. Das Zimmer (Nummer 3) (105 Euro) roch schimmelig/modrig. Geöffnetes Fenster zur Straße mit Autolärm hat nicht geholfen. Am Morgen roch es immer noch so. Ein Silberfischchen im Schlafzimmer, zwei im Badezimmer entdeckt. Frühstück sollte es um 7 Uhr geben, Tür zum Essensraum UND zur Rezeption waren jedoch beide um die Zeit noch verschlossen. Auf freundliche Nachfrage, was los wäre, wurden wir nochmal drei Minuten vor geschlossener Tür stehengelassen. Als wir reindurften, war das Frühstück noch nicht vollständig. All dies habe ich dem Hotelteam in einer Mail (sieh Fotos) geschildert. Keine Antwort. Und mich deshalb entschieden, diese Rezension zu verfassen. Denn für mich muß ein Hotel nicht perfekt sein, ich könnte über all das oben genannte hinwegsehen. Weil es bestimmt nicht immer einfach ist, ein Hotel zu leiten und sich um alles zu kümmern. Aber ich möchte mich willkommen und erstgenommen fühlen. Und das war im Ehringer Hof leider nicht der Fall. Deshalb nur einen Stern.

Empfehlenswertes Hotel mit moderner Ausstattung und guter Lage

Wir wurden sehr freundlich empfangen, das Zimmer war überraschend groß und sehr modern, mit offener Dusche und einer hochwertigen Ausstattung. Sehr sauber und gepflegt. Sogar eine kleine Terrasse gehörte zum Zimmer. Bequeme Betten, Getränkekühlschrank (gegen Aufpreis). Wasserkocher und Instant Kaffee kostenlos immer Zimmer. Frühstück bei dem es absolut nichts zu verbessern gab. Unsere E-Bikes konnten sicher in einer Garage untergestellt und kostenlos geladen werden.

Eigentlich nichts. Wenn man nach Fehlern sucht, kann man zwei Spinnen in der Ecke finden, was sich zu dieser Jahreszeit kaum vermeiden lässt.

Round about war alles super!

Das Zimmer war super sauber. Ich hatte ein Zimmer nach hinten heraus, sodass ich nachts das Fenster geöffnet lassen konnte und es trotzdem super still war! Das ist mir als Landmensch besonders wichtig, da ich keine laute Atmosphäre gewohnt bin. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und Check-In & Check-Out waren sehr unkompliziert!

Das Bad war etwas klein und nicht super neumodisch, aber das war kein Problem.

De mail die ik via booking.com heb gestuurd om aan te geven dat ik in een rolstoel zit is niet overgekomen. Ze hebben nl een prima aangepaste kamer. De eigenaar heeft het opgelost, maar wij moesten daardoor bijbetalen voor een extra kamer. Ik heb booking.com gebeld, maar de verbinding werd door booking.com verbroken ! Twee keer over. Geen goede reclame voor jullie. Ben hier erg boos over

Geen 3 sterren waard

Het was een heel mooi klein kamertje, wij hadden gekozen voor een iets uitgebreidere kamer. Met sauna en bubbelbad op de kamer. Het was allemaal erg schoon en ruim.

Helaas was het bubbelbad defect, dit hadden ze niet vermeld in de informatie. Er stond in de beschrijving ook dat er een privé zwembad was en een hot tub. Er was helaas geen hottub, en er stond een opzet zwembad van intex. Erg jammer. Onze kamer was naast de keuken waardoor ik vroeg wakker werd door het gepiep van de oven en de aanwezigheid van mensen. Naast de andere kant voor onze kamer was de voorraad kast waar ze ook steeds naartoe liepen om eten te pakken. Niet heel erg slim gedaan. Het moet een 3 sterren hotel zijn, maar het viel mij een beetje tegen.

Wir haben Freunde in der Nähe - werden aber nächstes mal definitiv eine andere Unterkunft suchen...

Ziemlich seelenlos und ohne jegliche Empathie geführt. Das Personal gab sich Mühe nett zu sein - das war es dann aber auch schon. Zwei Tage auf einen zweiten Zimmerschlüssel gewartet - und bei Abreise war er auch nicht bereit! Übervolle Aschbecher in der "Lounge" im Hof , dreckige Tische...... völlig unansprechend, schmutzig und mit offenen Garagentoren und Sicht auf Gerümpel, Harrassen und Material. Frühstück war sagen wir mal ok - aber nicht dem Preis entsprechend! Kalte Tassen ..... halbleere Platten .... keine Gläser für die Säfte ...... und auch kein Personal ersichtlich. Alles in allem gab sich das Personal Mühe nicht gesehen zu werden ........ Highlight: wir durften aber unseren Golden Retriver dabei haben - sogar im Frühstücksraum! Danke.

Poging tot betaling scam

schoon, goed bed, nachtrust en douche. De core business van een hotel. Prima hotel voor op doorreis per trein of bus, maar niet per auto. Jammer van de betaling scam.

Ik had vooraf de rekening per creditcard voldaan net zoals bij het eerste bezoek twee weken geleden. Het toneelstukje dat de rekening niet betaald zou zijn kun je als receptionist 1 keer doen, bij een tweede keer valt het extra hard op. Ik ben blij dat ik er de eerste keer ook niet was ingetrapt. Dit was de druppel die de emmer deed overlopen. We komen hier nooit meer terug. Het is dat het zoontje van de receptioniste er bij was anders had ik meteen directer gecommuniceerd. Foto van de geblokkeerde brandblusser gaat naar de Trier brandweer. Er was beloofd hier iets aan te doen. Na twee weken niets! WiFi is onbruikbaar; logisch als je een spoel maakt van de te lange ethernet kabel. Daarnaast onveilig vanwege fysiek toegankelijk accesspoint. Een korter 30cm ethernet kabel lost het eerste probleem op. De Parkeerplaats voor je auto is op de stoep of bij het station aan de overkant of verderop in de straat. Het station was afgezet wegens bouwwerkzaamheden en ik verwacht dat het parkeerterrein normaal ook vol staat.

Poging tot betaling scam. Ik had de rekening vooraf per creditcard betaald. de receptioniste bleef vrij lang volhouden dat er niet betaald was. Dit viel extra hard op door hetzelfde toneelstukje bij een tweede keer op onze terugreis. We komen hier nooit meer terug. Het is dat het zoontje van de receptioniste er was, anders had ik meteen directer gecommuniceerd. Brandblusser op de gang is geblokkeerd door een tafel. Dit had ik gemeld. Bij ons tweede bezoek twee weken later was er niets aan gedaan. De foto gaat naar de Trier Brandweer. WiFi werkt niet vanwege spoel gemaakt van te lange ethernet kabel bij accespoint. Als je iets meer doet dan een mail sturen, dan klapt de verbinding er uit. Een kort 30 cm kabel lost dit op. De fysieke toegankelijke ethernet poorten op het accesspoint vind ik een security risico. Parkeren is op straat of op de stoep. Normaal ook bij het stadion aan de overkant als er plek is. Het is nu een bouwplaats.

Niet voor herhaling vatbaar

Wie buiten de beperkte openingstijden van de receptie arriveert, kan alsnog inchecken en sleutelkaart ontvangen. Kamer was erg schoon. Douche was goed al duurde het wat lang voor er warm water uit kwam. Supermarkt en tankstation vlakbij. Treinstation naar Trier aan de overkant. Let wel, de treintijden zijn beperkt. Parkeerplaats van het hotel ligt links op het terrein voor het station.

Kussens waren erg zacht. Op de binnenplaats, waar veel kamers op uitkijken, nog tot na middernacht spraaklawaai. Het raam sluiten hielp niet. Na 23u hoort zo'n terras dicht te zijn. De schoonmaakservice functioneerde niet. Middels een formulier op een gastensite zou kenbaar gemaakt moeten worden of men er gebruik van wil maken. De informatie op de site is echter niet duidelijk. Ook spreken de Engelse en Duitse variant elkaar volledig tegen. Als gevolg daarvan werd niet alleen de kamer niet schoon gemaakt, maar hadden wij ook geen schone handdoeken, mede omdat de receptie minimaal bezet is. Het kaartje om aan de deurknop te hangen voor schoonmaak, hielp ook al niet. Met een goed werkend digitaal formulier zou het kaartje overigens niet nodig moeten zijn. Voor een hotel dat in 2011 een excellentieprijs heeft ontvangen is dit gewoonweg slecht. Na 2011 moet er het nodige mis zijn gegaan. Te duur voor zo'n beperkt aanbod. De dame achter de receptie was overigens vriendelijk. Zij kan er niets aan doen.

Ac var ur funktion eller fungerade väldigt dåligt. När man duschade så rann en del av vattnet ut genom dörren till sovrummet. Parkering fanns på boendet men det stod inget om att man ville ha 8€/dygn på en parkering på andra sidan gatan vid hotellet, som dessutom inte var inhängd. Hade bokat bord för middag dagen innan på deras hemsida. När vi skulle äta middag så fick vi veta att det var fullbokat och våran bokning var inte godkänd från deras sida men vi fick aldrig något svar från dem att det var fullbokat. Kanske låter detta lite gnälligt men om man bokar ett rum och middag samtidigt och får ok för rummet, hur ska man då veta att det inte är ok med middagen? Dessutom så var det en helgdag och inget annat öppet i närheten av hotellet.
