Good and affordable one night stay.
Comfortable, clean, easy to find, easy instructions, responsive and caring host. We needed two separate beds and we got them!
There is no elevator, so be prepared to carry your suitcase upstairs. Our windows looked directly onto the local dance club, the noise didn't stop until 4am, then there was just noise from the people near the club.

JUST acceptable for the high price of rooms in the middle of Trier.
Once we found it, the hotel location was very good.
First problem: finding the hotel. Google maps told us we had arrived when we were in front of a supermarket and cinema. Rang the hotel number but the woman who replied (owner?) spoke little English and could tell us only which carpark to use, not where the hotel was. She also - in German - said we had a message from Booking telling us how to get in and that she would see us tomorrow! We were unable to locate the message and several phone calls later, she came back, handed over a key from a moving car and waved us toward the hotel - which turned out to be in the middle of a pedestrian area. No wonder Google was confused! Booking.com should make the access to this hotel much, much clearer with entry instructions sent - in English - at the point of booking confirmation. Transporting luggage to the hotel is not easy. Nor is there a lift and rooms are all on upper floors. The room itself was just acceptable. The bathroom was clean, but the other surfaces dusty. And, to top it all, one side of the iron bedstead was broken, so sleep quality was not of the best. On the particular night we were there, it was a public holiday and, being a tourist square, there was a lot of noise well into the night and yet windows needed to be opened as a fairly inadequate fan was the only means of cooling the air. The lady in charge needs to be more aware of the needs of guests of all ages - though she was friendly enough, in German!

If only it was a little clearer about...
Excellent location and the room was large and comfortable. Very clean. It's bare bones decor but perfectly fine. It can be a bit noisy with the cafes underneath, but I just used ear plugs. There is no check-in desk, so be aware there is very little interaction with any staff. I only had interaction during breakfast.
It was unclear that breakfast was an extra fee. I reviewed the listing after I was charged and it appears like you only get charged for wine and alcohol. It does not mention that breakfast is charged. Be aware there is no elevator.

Convenient location for activity in Trier
Very convenient for the 8 a.m. Trier run the next day.
Quite basic room, noisy outside but that wasn’t a big deal for me.

Passable
Very good place to visit the center of gorgeous Trier.
Very bad place to sleep: deliveries start around 5, then cleaning the streets, then garbage collecting. Breakfast is just minimum.

Good
The breakfast was excellent - the location was very good.
It was not clear what you had to go to get into the hotel as there was no staff (until the morning). The description said there was parking, but all the parking was street parking and difficult to find. The hotel was next to a pizza restaurant (surprisingly enough, not too noisy).
