Far from city
Nice view and nice accommodation
The hotel is located quite far from the city, so it’s more convenient if you have your own car. We used buses whenever we went out and returned, but there was still a 15–20 minute walk from the bus stop to the hotel. Aside from that, everything else was really nice.

Fantastic position, almost everything up to standards
Marvellous position, very close to the city, easy to find. Clean and relatively modern room, with a fantastic view, a good bed and a good shower. Breakfast up to standards. Guests should know that this hotel does not have staff on site at night. The lady in charge had a certain kind of grumpiness, but in a strange way this refusal to all modern marketing strategies only confirms this place's authenticity.
A few details: a piece of soap or squeeze bottle was lacking in our bathroom and our hair-dryer did not function.

Peaceful
Lovely quiet location, nice walk through the woods down to the city.
Could do with a bit more facilities, make sure to stop at shop on your way.

Pros and cons
Great view from the breakfast room/balcony. Also, our room had an uninterrupted view of a grassy field, which was nice to wake up to. Good sized room!
The owner of the hotel did not appear to be very friendly, at least not to us. On our day of departure, while I was packing my suitcase, the owner knocked on our door to tell us it was time to check out. I politely told her that we would certainly be out of the room by the designated checkout time. She then rolled her eyes and showed me her watch, saying that she wants to close the hotel reception so we need to hurry up and check out. Again I confirmed that we would be out of the room by the official checkout time. She then walked away without another word. We checked out precisely on time. In my opinion, if the owner wishes guests to depart from the room earlier, then the stated checkout time should be earlier. We felt pressure from the owner, even though we were within our rights to use the morning to check out, it negatively affected how we felt about staying at the hotel. Other observations - there might be a wasp nest near the balcony as there were many wasps at breakfast. One little boy at the breakfast table next to us was stung. The bathroom towels could be upgraded as they were thin and old.

Nice well maitained and run place worth visiting
Breakfast good european breakfast, but if you like a cooked breakfast, with say hash brown, fried sausages, fried egges , ommelets to name a few, its not there, but given the price / quality we were happy View is fine from our room. Not being able to get lunch or dinner is a set back but I understand is a personel issue and will be back again in the near future. Shower cubicle is tight in particular for large people. Bed matres is not so good and I fell mout of bed in the middle of the night due to the matresnot firm close to edges.
What I like is that committed staff, in particular the lady with the name Ursula. The road leading to the hotel requires some touching up and I am worried about the safety when road is iced up or with loose snow. On the tv stations , they are all german language besides on in French. To have say BBC, CNN added would be good. To have a small brochure that would give insight in the hystory of the hotel / castje would be nice to have available

Beautiful location with an even better view of the city.
- Unbelievable price-quality ratio. - We received a free upgrade to a room with a beautiful view of the city. - The location is brilliant, peace and quiet and nature all around. - Good breakfast. - Very nice, polite and helpful owner. - It is also worth adding that there is free water in a glass bottle. Free if we do not take a bottle with us, otherwise we can buy it and take it with us.
