Good option for a short stay in Trier

This hotel suited our needs for a one night stay in Trier. The beds were very comfortable and the bathroom was a good size. The hotel is very near the river path which offers the option of a very pleasant walk or cycle along the Mosel.

The hotel is located on a busy road so there was some traffic noise. However, it did not stop us from sleeping well.

Overall good stay. We didn’t run into any major problems

Beds were comfortable. It was a bit of a walk to the central square but a nice walk.

Shower was very messy. Water went all over the bathroom when it was used. Check in time was very late but we tried to plan to arrive at check in time. We also had issues connecting to the wifi.

as I was travelling with a group on a motorcycle tour being able to get 4 twin rooms on a budget ‘‘twas a priority. Hotel Balkan easily accommodated us. the rooms are very quiet and the restaurant on site is good

for thé price it was great, the bathroom in my room wasn’t plush but it had what I needed

Bad Value

IBreakfast Disgraceful. Location to far from City Centre. 24. Euros for breakfast 1 hard boiled egg . And small butter rock hard for to try and spread on a Breakfast roll . Never mind the Duvet being too small for the bed No shower gel or shampoo had to be requested . Overall never again would I stay there .Paddy from Dublin. Ireland

Pleasant accommodation for a one night stay.

Pleasant staff. Very helpful. THey waived off the parking charges for us which was a pleasant surprise. Room and facilities were ok for a one night stay. Might not prefer it for a longer stay due to limited service.

Acceptable hotel, very close to the Mosel, ridiculously expensive breakfast.

The hotel is very close to the Mosel, and it was nice to be able to go for a walk along the river. As the hotel is a little bit outside of the city centre, this stretch of the river bank was not very crowded, so perfect for jogging in the morning and chilling out in the evening.

The breakfast was very expensive: €12 per person per day. That would be fine if for that amount you got a great breakfast with lots of options, but that was not the case. Perhaps it was due to the Covid-19 situation that the breakfast options were so limited, I don't know - whatever the case may be, as it was now the breakfast was a bit of a rip-off. Also, when we wanted to check-out (during the opening hours of the reception) there was no one to be found.

OK until we returned to our car.

Quick check in - we arrived at 6pm. Basic but comfortable room. Check out was easy - just leave the keys in the room.

Parking is stated as free so we left our car parked overnight and as there was no-one around the next morning to ask, and the car park was empty, we left the car and walked into town for a few hours. Upon returning to our car (and an empty car park) we were greeted with duck tape on the front car windscreen and graffiti on the driver window in permanent marker saying 'No P'. The hotel had our details and could have contacted us by email or telephone (we speak a little German) and we would have happily moved the car. Defacing a customer's property is never acceptable. We did think that the hotel may not have noticed it was our car, however the graffiti was written in English and the gentleman who checked us in knew we were English and watched us park our car.

Smakelijk jaarseinde in Trier

Het restaurant vonden wij zeer smaakvol en kerst ingericht. Het eten was prima, veel vlees lekker klaar gemaakt. Wij hebben alle 7 dagen daar gegeten en daarna aan tafel gerummicupt. Sfeer en Bedienung was uitstekend. Zeker een 8 waard.

Wij wisten dat de kamer niet groot was maar voor ons 2e en de grote hondenbench was genoeg plaats. Het feit dat we een Hallenser naar de badkamer met toilet hadden was ook prima. De kamer(s) zijn sofern en de badkamer wat verouderd maar alles werkte prima. Om 7 dagen op deze locatie te verblijven kon maar 5 dagen was ook goed geweest want dan heb je Trier wel gezien. De kamer vonden wij een 7 waard.

Moyen tant pour l'accueil que les odeurs

L'hôte qui n'était conciliant et qui ne respecte pas les heures où l'on pouvait disposer des clefs. Ds le contrat booking, c'était noté entre 12het 22h. Nous nous sommes présentés à 16h et personne pour nous accueillir. Nous avons pu avoir les clefs seulement à 17h30. Nous devions partir le lendemain absolument pour 10h selon l'hote et après négociation avons pu avoir 30 minutes en plus. Or ds le contrat booking, c'était jusqu'à 11h. L'odeur dans la chambre n'était pas agréable. Cela sentait un vieux reste de cigarette

Erwartungsgemäß gut, der Betreiber und Empf sehr nett und freundlich!

Zuerst einmal gesagt: Wir hatten ein Dreibettzimmer für nur eine Nacht gebucht und kaum erwartungen an Komfort und Luxus bei dem Preis! Es gab kein Es wurde kein Frühstück angeboten, die Betzten waren Preisentsprechend ok - für mich leider etwas zu weich. Das Zimmer war schlicht und einfach - aber Zweckmäßig und sauber! Der Empfang im Restaurant und das Restaurant selber waren wirklich sehrt gut bis gut...die Angebotenen Speisen Preislich im oberen viertel - aber für Trier noch ok - geschmacklich ein solides Balkan Restaurant! Alles in Allem war es eine erwartungsgemäße Übernachtung!

Ein kleines, aber nettes Haus. Die Besitzer sind sehr nett. Die Zimmer sind etwas in die Jahre gekommen, aber alles sehr sauber. Für uns war es ideal. Das Essen im Restaurant war wirklich gut!

het is makkelijk dat de kamers in hetzelfde gebouw waren als het restaurant. Als je van dit soort restaurant houdt natuurlijk.

Alles is erg gedateerd. Het restaurant kan wel een opfrisbeurt gebruiken om weer in de nieuwe eeuw te komen. De kamer was kaal, leeg en ook hier erg gedateerd. Daarnaast ruikt alles naar openbaar toilet want de toiletten voor het restaurant zijn op de gang bij de kamers. Jammer
