SIDE, Hamburg, a Member of Design Hotels

The location is great, very central, nice area. Good breakfast. Nice, spacious room. We stayed with our toddler daughter and they have prepped some snacks and a plushie when we arrived.

The problem was that they didn’t clean the room. We left our room around 8.30 in the morning and when we came back at 17.00 the room wasn’t cleaned. The cleaning staff came around 17.30 when we were resting after a long and exciting day, so we weren’t eager to leave and wait until they clean. The front desk staff didn’t think that it was an issue and we didn’t really get an apology either. It’s a 5 star hotel and daily cleaning is expected especially when we have a toddler with diapers and sand everywhere. So this situation and the attitude of the staff kinda ruined the very good impression we had. Also hotel doesn’t have their own parking and the closest parking house costs 50 eur per night, street parking is just as expensive.

Amazing stay, excellent hotel. Definitely recommend for any travelers, leisure of business alike. Great Spa area, sauna, steam bath, pool, jacuzzi, technogym equipped gym. comfortable bed, pillows and duvets are amazing. room has a nice coffee machine.

the bathroom is a bit weird, especially if sharing a room with someone other than your significant other. bathroom has sliding doors but does not fully close and there is no real wall, rather a glass with a see through curtain.

Location and staff were great.

We had a superior room and the double bed was extremely small and not in my opinion what one expects in a 5 star hotel. Also the lighting in the room, if you turn the bathroom light on the whole room lights up, not good in the middle of the night!!
