Loved Hamburg, Loved Ruby Lotti Hotel

We really enjoyed our stay at the Ruby Lotti hotel - it is in a perfect location, easy train access from the Airport - two stations a very short walk to the hotel. We found everything we wanted to do in easy walking distance. Great bar area - quirky enviroment with great views - very comfortable good service - great pizza. Rooms are a bit compact but very well done so not a problem - bed also very comfy and great shower gels and shampoo's. All staff really polite and helpful, good spoken English - happy to answer questions and assist in tips for Hamburg. Hamburg itself was delight!

Tea and coffee is not in the room but in a shared "galley" area - which is fine but the hot tap was very tricky (probably a me problem)! Qulit in bedroom, was in two halves which was a bit odd.

A lovely stay, minus the breakfast

The location was superb. Right on the Fleet and within walking distance to many of Hamburg's attractions and well connected to public transport. Staff were friendly and the hotel lobby was a very nice place to relax in. Our room was quite small but clean, cosy and with a great city view. We personally loved the design of the shower.

Breakfast was overpriced and badly thought out. The room was overcrowded and hectic. People were bumping into each other walking to and from the buffet. There were eggs but no egg cups, only loose leaf tea but nothing to strain it with, and a few food items that looked past their prime/no longer appetizing, so they remained untouched. The bread and cheese were very nice though.

For a short stay, I couldn't ask for much more.

Location was ideal for the purpose of my visit. The room was very clean and quiet. Breakfast was rich in variety and of good quality.

The room's decoration/set-up a bit too modern for my liking. Not very spacious, either. For €24, I found breakfast a bit overpriced.

Nice hotel for a 3-day trip in Hamburg for couples

- Excellent location, near to S-Bahn, within 20-25 min walk (worst case) to almost any point of interest for sightseeing for a 3-day trip. - In terms of cleanliness, it was very good. - Bright room and very quiet. - Breakfast quality very good. - Bonus: automatic upgrade from cozy to lovely room.

- It is understood that the hotel tried to take the most from small rooms (and imagine ours was from upgrade), but some design options are not understood (e.g. limited area to walk around the bed, further minimized by a tv stand - the latter, in the age of internet, may be not needed or at least hang it at another point, only a small chair and a stool). - Breakfast selection is limited. Hotel has to consider automatic coffee machine instead of the policy of asking from bar. Also, the fact that the breakfast was on the bar area, made it extremely crowded. - Toilet ventilation needs a stronger motor.

Great hotel and atmosphere. If you have strict requirements for invoices, avoid visiting this hotel.

Great hotel. Very stylish. Super breakfast.

Reception is a nightmare. I have requested invoice 3 or 4 times. Each time they asked me to reach them next day. I have a strict rules from my company about invoices for the business trips and I need to check the invoice before leaving the hotel. This is crucial for me. First time I see when 3 different persons (one of them said that he is the owner of the hotel) lie to you looking right in your eyes.

Disappointing.

Location.

Breakfast was unfortunately not good. Looked great but the taste was not good. Soft boiled eggs were very hard (and this at 8am…) 24€/person not worth. Cleaning staff didn’t clean our room for two straight days. When complaining the reception told us something about small letters when booking that I must have over read, very weird and unfair way to treat customers. Basically not taking any accountability. 600€ for 3 days, you would expect cleaning no? Beds too hard in my opinion. The cosy rooms setup is very weird! The toilet is in the shower and the sink is outside the bathroom in the room. Incredibly weird and wrongly designed. Not particularly smart…

Fabulous hotel ,in a lovely location ,within walking distance to everything .Staff were excellent.

Our room was very comfortable, we stayed here before and new what to expect . we didn't take the breakfast option we just felt 22 euro per head was a bit pricey ,but there was a lovely supply of Danish treats and fresh fruit, i don't know how we missed it but they have a fabulous Gallery room where you can make tea or coffee ( free of charge) and it also has a vending machine .

I can't complain but I think the cost of breakfast should be reviewed .

Nice and calm hotel, with a wonderful staff.

The Ruby staff is super nice. The breakfast covers many possible diets, so it's hard to stay hungry and disappointed. The AC in the room is very effective without making much noise. Despite of being right in the downtown area, the hotel is still quiet.

Having the bathroom and the toilet as glass cubicles right in the room was an interesting and novel (to me) design approach. The intimacy factor is definitely lower than it bee in case of a more traditional design. It didn't particularly bother me but might be a factor for some.

Self checkin and no checkout required (you drop the cards in a box on your way out). 7. Friendly staff 8. Comfortable beds (you have your own cover too) and easy to set temperature in the room. 9. Seif in the wardrobe.

1. Barely any space for storrage, no bedside furniture, just a tiny shelf by the bed. There is a wardrobe, with a few hangers, but nothing for the rest of the clothes. 2. Sink in the room (you can get water on the floor, plus the noise if you use it at night). 3. A bucket for a garbage bin. I can understand no daily cleaning if you choose that, but not even daily garbage disposal? 4. No fridge 5. Shower in the room - you can choose to pull a courtain for more privacy, but only on the side facing the bed. The side facing the sink is still open. 6. Some instructions would be necessary before coming to the location about where and how to do checkin. It can take a while to figure it out in your own. 7. Rock hard pillows.

Clean hotel, good cheaper option but you get for what you pay for. Staff weren’t friendly.

The staff weren’t very helpful. In the evening I had a drink at the bar, one guy was working really hard but the other (who was very unhelpful earlier in the day when I asked him for some help) was just lazy, he burnt pizzas and forgot drink orders. He was more interested in just hanging out and flopping his long hair! It felt like he didn’t particularly want to be there which didn’t help the vibe of the hotel.

Absolutely again!

I love hotels with personality and this hotel has personality! The location is great and the vibe and decor is just welcoming! I loved my room, very clean and spacious....allot of white, which I love!! The body products are suitable for sensitive skin. I will definitely stay here again.

I would have loved to have coffee in my room. This is a preference and not a complaint! I did get an amazing coffee downstairs though ;)

A lot to be done to make the hotel live up to its reputation

The warm and welcoming staff and its location right above a channel and very conveniently close to the city centre.

For a hotel of its category, certain things, such as minibar, amenities kit, slippers, a desk phone to contact the reception in case of emergency at least and cleanliness should be for granted. The lack of the above and the spiders I shared the room with, certainly do not justify the pricing charged. Moreover, this inexplicable trend of window dividers for the bathroom and the sink placed in the room and outside the bathroom MUST STOP. Thankfully I was on my own, but don’t know who would enjoy sharing their most private moment at the loo with their partner.

One of the nicest location, bright and large room, great value for money and quality service

This is a total value for money in my opinion. Situated in one of the nicest area in Hamburg and offering a great 180 degree view of the canal/river and the city, is simply amazing. Very close to the train/metro, cafes & restaurants, shopping areas, and tourist attractions. Very hospitable stuffs and great service. The room was large, bright, equipped with all necessary amenities and the bonus is the view of course. Highly recommended.

Perhaps a mini refrigerator in the room would have been great. This is something I always enjoy in hotel rooms. Otherwise everything else was simply superb.

Location is excellent, just a few stations from all the main attractions by U bahn. The room is spacious with great river view. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There were somehow two spiders in the room which is ok for me but may be scary for some. The facilities in the room is also minimal with no water kettle, coffee machine, fridge, etc. That being said, the bar is at the front desk and quite easy to reach. Breakfast was really nice (also in the bar area) and offers good variety of bread, pastry and meat. The layout and decor of the bar is warm and retro, offering a really comfortable, at home feel. Overall a great place to stay in Hamburg

Lovely stay in an enjoyable city,

Location excellent, very close to S Bahn and U Bahn and harbour. Cleanliness excellent and friendly service. Well stocked bar and fun modern environment, excellent sustainability credentials, in line with the Hamburg ethos. Appreciated the Gallery and excellent Breakfast.

All very good, just one slight criticism, I enjoyed the sausages at breakfast and final morning, they didn't have any! But that is me being very critical with tongue in cheek,

Excellent hotel in central Hamburg

Straight forward e-checkin, the room was small but expected, super clean, the toilet and shower area was large and could be closed off via a curtain. The room was on the lower floor, level with one of the waterways. Bed was comfortable, shower worked very well. Very nice.

Everything has the right style. The room is very nice, clean, trendy and it has a bluetooth sound box that allowed me to hear the music during my staying.

The hotel and bar staff - namely Maria, Liviu, Jenny, and Pocolo - were exceptionally friendly, helpful, and professional, and made me want to return to Ruby on my next trip to Hamburg. It was a huge add to the charming hotel design, and the professional setup.
