Just seemed like the place could use some TLC

The breakfast was excellent

Condition of the room. First room lights went out in the bathroom. Moved to another room. Minifridge light was blinking on and off. Not cooling properly

Great location, but the hotel is in need of renovation.

The location was excellent, right in the city center, close to several restaurants and within walking distance of the cathedral, the Christmas market, and the main shopping street.

The rooms felt very outdated. Although they appear to have been renovated, the updates were insufficient, and the old character was still noticeable in the furniture and overall feel. The pillows were extremely hard and uncomfortable, which resulted in sore necks after our stay. The carpet was dusty, causing us to sneeze frequently and feel unwell, despite not having any allergies. Additionally, the room was excessively warm; even after turning off the heater, the temperature remained uncomfortable.

Old bedrooms, beds were not made, and be aware the is a nightclub in the street, so very noisy until 4.00am. Mold in the bathroom

Okay as we weren’t in the room a lot

The location is good it’s not far to walk to the centre. Nice little shop bit for essentials like water and snacks, naturally very overpriced for the convenience

The bed was so uncomfortable, the pillow was non existent with no spares anywhere. We asked for extra but they couldn’t get until the next day when we were leaving. The door of the room was a complete nightmare. They are impossible to open. You have to get it at a certain point like a puzzle and we had to go get reception to open it for us one evening after 20 minutes of trying. We are both frequent travellers and have never experienced this before. Complete joke. Hotel is much more a low 3 star than a 4. We had a mecure booked for next year for another trip, but after this being our first stay at one each, we have cancelled it and changed to a Marriott. Corner of bath grout was also black.

disappointing overrated and not good value for money

breakfast was very good

When we arrived the receptionist was very unhelpful infact quite rude. There was no wifi in the room even though it specifically promised free wifi. They did move us the next day but we had to wait until 3pm to get new room. We had to pack up put our luggage in reception and wait. The new room was dirty. Long black hairs on bathroom floor and it the shower

Sufficient as a place to sleep but limited in functionality/facilities.

Location brilliant for bars/restaurants and short walk from the main city centre.

Wifi was poor - often didn’t connect or once connected would disconnect. Pillows were incredibly thin and lacked firmness. TV didn’t work at all (not sure if this was due to Wifi issues) so was of no use in the room.

Well worn hotel clearly short of staff

Reasonable distance to city centre.

No cleaning service. Bar not open. Noisy outside at the weekend due to bars / clubs all around. Water in shower went from warm to scalding back to warm without touching the tap. Decor in room tired and outdated.

Terrible don't ever stay here

The hotel is directly in the party rave part of town, The room was moldy and the furniture was falling apart, the shower leaked and was very dirty and didn't drain. The room came with feather pillows and duvet ask for non feather and they brought more feather items and didn't have any more for non allergy. When came to check out was at this point were informed that the parking is 30 pounds a night told there is sign and found it in German no translation and is so small u wouldn't see it so overpriced for what is a 1 star hotel

Good Low Budget stay in an area filled with nightlife and great amenities surrounding the hotel

The location was perfect to travel, eat at restaurants and was in close proximity to other amenities. Staff were polite during the stay and helped with general inquiries with how to use the train system for e.g. as well as other questions which as a tourist made it a lot easier! Bathroom was spacious.

When checking in, there was a bit of an attitude with one of the people at the Desk but it was pretty late in the evening so not a big deal. Lack of pillows on the bed which ended up killing my neck as well as my other partners on my stay. The room could get quite hot whilst in season, would be great if there was some form of air conditioning since it got pretty uncomfortable

Breakfast a bit too pricey (21€). In the room I did not manage to find the switch for the main table lamp. Mini bar fridge was switched off, I wished it was On, so that I can put my yoghurt overnight there (had to keep near the open window).

Decent stay with good breakfast

Location was fairly close to central however it is in a middle of a party street…. Until early morning, loud music and trashy people are guaranteed. Good breakfast

It’s very tired looking unfortunately. It’s far from 4*standards in many ways. The aircon unit was probably from the late 70’s. It worked, but very noise and fiddly to operate with the remote which is hanging on a cable attached to the main unit - so it’s rather and extended control panel than a remote controller. Mould in bathroom, shower gel was not topped up and pump was broken.

Cologne at Christmas

This hotel was perfect for our city break and for the Christmas markets. It was easy to get to, from the airport on the trains. The room itself was clean & tidy; the room was cleaned each day. The contents of the mini bar were free and restocked each day - a nice touch. We found the bed very comfortable. Breakfast was great with hot and cold options, fruit, continental and sausages/eggs. All hotel staff were very pleasant.

The bedroom decor could do with updating/modernising, like the main areas in the hotel have been but it didn’t have any impact on us.
