A very noisy stay that forced to do an early check-out - one night before my departure

Highly recommended and pleasant stay

Great location for Europa Park, only a 10-15min walk. Lots of restaurants to choose from nearby. Small shop just opposite Europa for convenience food such as sandwiches, milk, bread etc. Very clean and tidy with everything you need, cutlery, plates, coffee maker, kettle, iron. About 20-25mins walk to supermarket Very safe area and scenic. Enough space for around 4 people and 2 children with fold out couch. Nice hot shower with everything you need such as towels and toilet rolls quiet area

It was 35 degrees during my stay and the room does not have aircon - VERY hot and stuffy. View from room is of industrial style vents which continually hum. The pillow was very thin and uncomfortable

Great value for money in perfect Cologne location

The location is unbeatable for a city break in Cologne. Walking distance everywhere and great restaurants and shopping on your doorstep. It’s perfectly clean and functional. The staff is friendly. Really good value for money for a trip with friends.

Ask for a quiet room facing the courtyard, as the streets around can get noisy at night. Long queues at check in/out as there is never enough reception staff. Had to ask for additional pillows as the one provided were so thin. The hotel itself is a bit dated (but clean). If you are looking for a romantic get away, look somewhere else.

All tough renovated, the hotel looks like an eighties lower middle class hotel. There is a wide choice at the breakfast, but all the products are cheap and not very tasteful The staff is not client oriented

Superb

Room 632 was very good. I had enough space for more than 3-4 pieces of luggage and a spacious desk where I could work very well. The room was on the opposite side of the boulevard and was not noisy at all, very clean and with curtains that really block the light in the morning. The fridge and the clothes spaces were spacious.

Cologne Comforts

As a regular visitor to this hotel, I find the hotel a perfect bolthole for the city. It always offers everything you need for a weekend stay in Cologne. Close to shops, amenities and public transport.

Some of the public areas (the bar area etc) are starting to look a bit dated. Bar area could benefit from more seating and offering a place to wait for travelling companions.

Disappointment

Bad, really really bad. When checking in, the receptionist gave half information with half attention. Then the room we got was empty. We booked the business room, which was exactly the same as the classic room. It was only a bit bigger. The room was set up for single use (one towel, one desk chair). The bathroom was small. A desk was cramped in a corner with the TV on top, so hardly any workspace and the TV is far away from the bed to watch. There was NO seating area, although mentioned in their room details. As was NO safe, which is actually at the reception and only available upon first come, first serve. Do not be fooled by their nice images. When booked, I requested a quiet room, and we were on the busy main street. Also requested single beds. Both options were an explicit choice when booking. When asking about it, I only got an "we don't have a garden view or inner court", "we have only 5 with single beds", and a "hotel is full". Asked for a second chair, so we could actually both sit, and we got a "we check what room type you have, then see what we can do". I booked well in advance, so it is a matter of planning, or at least informing your customer! On top of it all: The room was very dirty with cobwebs and piled grey dust along the floor edges and under the bedside table. Plus, there was an ant problem in the bathroom AND on the bed. YUK. The receptionists (iow: the hotel) did not give a toss!

Lots of stairs to reach the room (or reach he elevator). Breakfast was ok, but not great, with barely any staff available to refill items that had run out.

elevator of the old part of the hotel ends between two stairs, not comfortable for carrying a big bag. the lights in the corridor are always on and it disturbs the sleep a bit.
