Just Perfect

Peaceful, comfortable, clean, views were amazing

Very minor but cleaning essential like sponge and detergent and complimentary shampoo and body wash would have been perfect.

Disappointed

The cleanliness in the property left a lot to be desired. Areas of mould in bedroom and bathroom on ground floor. Bins had not been cleaned, rusty and near toilet..... . Towel rail had never been cleaned and in close proximity to toilet....... there was on the one bin bag to each bin ...No shower gel or soap. I have photos to back up our observations. In my opinion there did not seem to have been anyone in to clean - relying on guests to clean up after themselves. I placed iPad on shelf under bedside table and when I picked it up it was thick with dust. Had the place been clean I would have marked it a lot higher.

A home away from home in a beautiful location, close to Lake Windermere.

Beautiful converted barn property, plenty of space and excellent facilities in the property, large lounge with access to patio area outside, large kitchen/dining area with nice big range cooker. 3 bedrooms all with their own en-suite. Free wi-fi. Amazing views all around. The caretaker was kind and helpful. We phoned him on the way there and he told us the combination for the keylock safe to let ourselves in, and then the following morning came up to the property, introduced himself and made sure we were happy. Set in idyllic countryside at least a mile from the nearest busy road, plenty of space for kids to play. Only 10 mins by car to Windermere and 20 mins to Ambleside.

Everything was great the only little criticisms I could give it is that the kettle is a Smart kettle which took us a few minutes to figure out how to switch it on and make a cup of tea, The TV is not a smart TV, just a simple Freeview TV. So if you want to login to your Netflix or TV Streaming service to keep the kids entertained on rainy days take an ipad or tablet to make use of the fast free wi-fi.

Great loation and property but slightly let down inside

Location was amazing with stunning views and well out the way so great views on a night very large accomadation and all had own on suits.

A damaged fence causing myself to loose a wingmirrow in heavy rain late at night on the grounds - these things happen though. Lots of dust and cobwebs even though we were told cleaners were in that morning. Also lots of damage to the property. No doors had stoppers so every wall was smashed in by the handles behind leaving holes. Blinds damaged affecting privacy.... could list more problems but dont want to slate the beutiful property

Enjoyable weekend at the festival but disappointed that when we got back to property to relax lounge was cold!

We loved the house.and where it was based at.

The cleaning could of been better if iam honest.we found rubbish and things other guests had left.around the cooker and in the cooker it was quit dirty.some pots were dirty in the cupboard.there was no toilet rolls in the bathrooms.

Lovely cottage 😍

Excellent location 👏 Lovely cottage, fully equipped and contains everything and extras. Heating system worked well. View from the lounge was amazing. Pet friendly, nice and quiet. The owner popped into ask about our stay and if we needed anything which was kind.

Exceptional

The location, property, the view from the property everything is extraordinary. The landlord came in person to say hi to everyone and asked if we are ok.. We felt really humbled and amazed with this gesture.

Just a bit of confusion and mis coordination in the payment between Booking.com and the Holiday company. It was resolved at the end though.

Staveley was a good location, quiet spot & good for visiting other places.

The location was perfect. Beautiful area.

The 3 piece suite and the crockery were worn and dated. The table mats were in a poor condition. The desert spoons were huge and the kitchen equipment was dated. From the photos we were led to believe that we had an enclosed garden but we just had a table and chairs on stones in an area shared with the other two attached homes, so it was not very private and not child friendly. The downstairs bedroom was cramped. There wasn't any drawers and we could only just walk round the bed. I'm glad we did not have 7 in the Byre. It was advertised to accommodate seven guests.

Very nice cottage- tucked away above Staveley - great for 6-7 adults. Instructions to the cottage were easy to follow. Great views down the valley, clean and comfortable and very adequately furnished including kitchen. Easy drive into Windermere and Kendal as well as south lakes. We loved our mini break.
