great place, good skiing nearby

exciting to be at 2000 m in the mountains, not much else than a solid building with really nice clean setup and great staff

busses were a little tricky, little challenging to get to the destination. But there are also trains. It's just connecting from Zurich later in the day was a challenge

Bathroom and amenities a bit basic Some rules seem weird for this kind of hotel and considering the price: for instance to ask to pay if you use more than 2 coffee pods (we stayed 4 nights) or the amount of soap given (we did not even get a refill) Missing maybe a cosy room with fire and coffee / tea

The staff were ready to help with any questions (Tanya was very attentive). The breakfasts were varied and delicious.

Over priced paid for location

Breakfast was good. Location on top of pass.

Very noisy underneath my room. I am going to assume I was above a dining room but chairs being dragged and tables all eveni g and esrly morning. Despite leaving a sign on the door do not disturb the cleaners came in the room long before check out. Grass cutting guys outside my window shouting early morning. Expensive for what you got. No discount given for local facilities.

We loved the place and definitely expect to stay here again

If you dont mind staying in a more remote / natural area away from stores, restaurants, attractions in town, this place is great and better value for money than Pontresina, etc. everything was excellent including the restaurant which is a bit pricey with no alternatives in the vicinity. Travelling with your own vehicle this is not an issue. If you arrive by / rely on public transport, make sure you always check the train / bus schedule to get back in time!!! We did opt for their Chateaubriand special on our last day and it was top notch. Our two bedroom Suite was pretty and clean, it is quiet at night and the hotel is close to Diavolezza cable car station. A free pass for regional transportation is included if you stay multiple nights and is a good deal.

Breakfast buffet is excellent but starts at 7:30 only. Would have been nice to get an earlier start to hit some of the hiking trails a bit earlier too.

I liked the cleanliness of the room, and this had central heating in January. The breakfast was nice, a choice of croissants and bread, cereals, fresh juice and hot drinks. I liked the closeness to resorts like Saint Moritz and a local train and bus route next to the hotel

I prefer a private ensuite bathroom and found my room had a shared bathroom, which got busy on a Saturday morning.

Charming stay with a great location - the perfect pit stop for a multi-day hike

Fantastic location as a part of our two day hike. The room feels authentic, and I love the wood interior and finish. Good food at the restaurant, and great breakfast. They also arranged a packed lunch for us.

Price of food and drink in the restaurant (and the restaurant and waiter felt a bit posh for us with our "hiking wardrobe" :)).

cozy and comfortable

We didn’t have hot water for 2 out of the 3 days! Apparently because we all showered the first day! the Italian guy at the reception (assistant/waiter) was SO rude! breakfast was supposed to be until 10am, but when we showed up at 9am he said we are late and the last ones so there’s nothing left! so in a very bad manner he brought some stuff as if he was doing us a favour!! every morning the same!!! When I complained at the check-out, he said if what I was looking for was a discount I should just say so and not just complain!! 🤯 I had never experienced such a poor customer service! unbelievable!!

wonderful and restful mountain retreat.

brilliant mtn location, in the Bernina pass with beautiful views and pure nature - but just a few minutes from Pontresina and the Engadin. great skiing at your doorstep with Diavolezza and Lagalb, on piste or touring/snowshoeing.

nothing! the shower and hot water could be improved; choice of pillows. road-facing windows need to be closed at night for early-morning traffic over the pass to Italy.
