Warm & inviting home, great for families with kids

This was one of the warmest and most inviting Airbnbs I’ve stayed in! The apartment had beautiful Christmas decorations and the owner Hubert had left lots of treats for us - chocolates, coffee & tea, fresh milk from a neighbouring farm, wine… He also gave us a lot of recommendations on places of attractions, restaurants and neighbourhood amenities. My kids especially loved the huge box of toys they found in one of the bedrooms. In all, the property was so welcoming it felt like we were staying with some lovely Austrian friends.

The only downside is that the property is a little out of central Salzburg and the closest bus did not come very often so you may need to take taxis into the city center.

The villa is just beautiful.

Villa Maxglan was beautiful. We spent Christmas there it was lovely the house was beautifully decorated for Christmas. The house had everything you need it was so warm and comfortable. Herbert was a wonderful host .

Magnificent apartment on a beautiful property.

Lovely apartment and attentive host. Good communication throughout our stay. We liked the attention to detail. Good location with lots of space. Lovely option to enjoy meals on the terrace.

Kitchenware such an oven dish was lacking. But other than that everything was great.

Excellent stay- would highly recommend!

Everything was wonderful!! The hosts were very communicative and were able to accomodate us bringing an infant with us, going above and beyond by providing a crib and toys for him. The location was very walkable to busses and the city center and the space itself was in a beautiful location and had plenty of space for all of us.

FABULOUS!

This place was fantastic! Upon our arrival, our host, Hubert, was waiting in the driveway for us. He immediately greeted us with a smile and true warmth that he was happy we were there. He helped with our bags and proceeded to tell us about the area and things we could do that were within walking distance of the property. The property is private, quiet and just lovely! The farm next door has fresh eggs and milk each morning that were delicious and the perfect start to our day. We took a short cab ride to the city center and walked over 15 miles through Salzburg seeing all the sights and beauty of the area. This was a girls trip and we could not have been happier. 10 out of 10

The perfect Salzburg stay

This was the perfect stay in Salzburg! I’ve been several times but this one was the most memorable because of the Villa Maxglan experience. Hubert was attentive, pleasant and warm in his welcome- we felt like we were being hosted by family. The home is large and so beautifully decorated. It has a gorgeous garden and is located right next to a farm where you can get fresh milk and eggs! Close to a brewery and a few minutes drive from the city. I highly recommend it!

The lush gardens really made for a feeling of being on vacation. This place is wonderful.

Great cozy, peaceful & warm nest at Salzburg

Location, size of place, amenities, cleanliness, garden, quietness, kitchen, toilets, farm near by the villa, and above all this the great hospitality, reception & follow up of the owner. If we come back in the future, we will stay here.

Every thing was fine, nothing we didn’t like. The owner was very helpful even he just lost his wife two months back. We sympathize with him for his loss and hope he go through this soon.

Villa Maxglan was a wonderful location where we would love to stay again.

Villa Maxglan is an exceptional property. It is located in a safe and quiet residential area of Salzburg on the other side of the stone mountain that divides the city, with the residential area on one side and the old city on the other. It is only a 5 minute drive from the parking structure under the stone mountain where you can park your car and walk into the old city and then explore by foot. Parking at the villa is safe, private and secure -- you can park in a large courtyard to the side of the house that is hidden behind the back wall of the front car port -- drive up, push a button and the back wall opens up to let you in. The courtyard has parking for 5+ vehicles and is securely off the street. The villa is attached to a larger house with other residents but we didn't see or hear them during our stay. It was very quiet. The villa is spotlessly clean, well maintained and tastefully decorated with beautiful original pieces of art. Downstairs features an up-to-date and well appointed kitchen with eating bar, a dining area and a large sitting room with two comfortable couches. There are also French doors opening onto a small terrace with an outdoor dining area and small garden with sculptures. It is a beautiful sight and very relaxing. Also downstairs is the WC and separate bathroom with combined tub/shower. The bathroom is good sized and updated. Upstairs are three good sized bedrooms with queen sized beds and armoires, with good ventilation from the windows. Everything was clean, quiet, comfortable and beautifully decorated. We also met the hosts who were very nice, gracious and responsive to questions and requests. This is a highly recommended, exceptional property.

The only particularity that I would point out (and it's not a dislike), is that only two of the upstairs bedrooms have access to the hall and stairs. To access the third bedroom, you have to go through one of the other two. Not a big deal, but something to point out -- and it's perfect if you want to monitor children.

Impressive stay

Villa is a very beautiful, neat, and comfortable apartment. We and friends all love it! Ingrid is responsive and very nice. She introduced a short trip plan in Salzburg to us and told what we could look around nearby. We got the fresh milk and bought beers as she recommended. We hope to be here again!

Quiet and clean with beautiful garden

It was quiet and clean. We liked that there were 3 bedrooms. We had a car so town was very close and convenient. Unfortunately I left a lot of my lulu lemon clothes by accident.

I wish there were more pillows… (only one per person was provided).

The accommodations were very nice and we enjoyed our stay. The recommendation of the brewery for dinner was a great one and we appreciated it. The neighborhood was lovely.

The location was a little far from the part of town we were touring. We had to drive in and park all day. That was our problem, as I knew the location when I booked it.

Superb

The landlady was very enthusiastic and gave us milk from local farm and advice on local attractions. There is everything in the house. Even the kitchen has essential equipments and seasoning for cooking. I was surprised by the free Nespresso capsules and coffee machine. It actually felt like home.

Superb

Spacious, warm, and very well equipped. The house was very clean and Ingrid our host was very helpful in recommending restaurants and activities and in helping make bookings. There is a lovely courtyard and handy off street parking that is complimentary.

The trade off for the spacious family accommodation is that it's location is not in the town centre, though an easy walk through the fields to the altstadt. Being next to a popular local dairy was great in procuring eggs and milk, though our host was kind enough to have supplied some on arrival. A minor inconvenience is that one of the bedrooms can only be accessed via the other two but we found it no big deal.

the location is perfect to enjoy all that Salzburg has to offer. This is a beautiful well designed property. But the very best part of this stay is the host. She made sure that we had everything and more for the stay. We brought our granddaughter and she had toys for her and other special items. Just a awesome host

Spacious, fully equiped villa with gated parking area. Perfect and we will stay here again!

Spacious, fully equiped 3 bedroom villa with convenient and safe gated entry parking. Washing machine, heated bathroom floors, full size kitchen, dining, and living areas. Friendly, accomodating hostess. We will definitely stay here again. Would be nice to visit in the spring or summer to enjoy the garden.

It didn't bother us at all, but it's worth noting that you need to walk through one of the bedrooms in order to access the 3rd bedroom.

Virtually perfect in every way - host was available, helpful, and friendly but respected our privacy as well.

Every accommodation imaginable, including two high chairs and two baby beds for our toddler twins. in a quiet neighborhood with a farm next door that we could get fresh milk from. sparkling clean, toys for the children, overall everything was wonderful. Long-ish walk to the center (20 minutes) but a few nice restaurants nearby (and parking on the edge of the center was very easy).
