Villa Maxglan

The house is very comfortable and well set up with all of the kitchen and laundry things you could possibly need. It has a lovely garden which is a real treat so close to the old town of Salzburg.

For our group it would’ve been handy to have a second bathroom on the first floor where the bedrooms are but we soon got used to it

Very comfortable and spacious , with a cool terrace on hot summer days . The host thought of everything and our stay was extremely relaxing .

The internet is really slow , which is a problem if you need to do some work.

The location was private, quiet, and next to a farm that offers fresh milk, butter, and eggs for a small price. We felt like we were in the country, with beautiful views from the farm of the local Alps, yet we were close to sites, including Steigl brewery and restaurants, Hangar 7, and a reasonable walk (for those who like to walk) from downtown Salzburg. Many good restaurants, concerts, Sound of Music Tour and many sites are easy to access from this property. Taking an uber is always an option or parking your car in the parking garage near the walking tunnel. We enjoyed the residence because it was clean, spacious for our family of 5, had all the kitchen necessities, and had a lovely outdoor patio and interior living space where everyone could relax. Private parking for the car is also available behind a secure gate. We felt very safe and had no problems with this lovely rental. The host was personable, kind, helpful, and communicative. He made excellent recommendations on places to visit. We even had some laundry that needed to be cleaned off site which he accommodated for us. We feel like we made a friend and look forward to going back again. We would strongly recommend this property to anyone. You are in great hands with Hubert. (PS: The host contacted us when he found one of our shirts left behind in the home. He graciously sent it to us. That is going above and beyond!)

We could have used a couple of fans in each of the bedrooms since it was a little bit warm, but we propped open windows to get some air to circulate. There is no A/C, which did not really bother us, even though it was warm. The house stays pretty cool. We also could have benefitted from an additional shower, but we chose this location because it had at least a separate half bath for use when the full bath was being occupied. It all worked out fine.

The property was in a picturesque location. Very comfortable and idyllic. The host is extremely welcoming and provided fresh eggs and milk from the neighbouring farm. A short walk to view mountains and to the Stiegl brewery. A short ride to old town. A perfect stat for our family.
