Middlethorpe Apartment

Jo and Andy are the best with regards with their Sublime Middlethorpe Apartment. I could fault it at all and I would score alot higher than a 10. Their attention to detail and thorough information with regards to contact details far exceeds any other Air bnb I have stayed in.

I cannot find anything to fault. It was a lovely 2 days for me and my needs. All items that you have access to are to a high standard with no expense spared. Their attention to detail is flawless.

Very private place to stay in a quiet area.

Room to move. Having stayed in one room accommodation most of our trip, it was nice to be able to stretch out and relax. Bonus, it even had a separate dining room. Our hosts Jo and Andy were very friendly and helpful. It was well stocked with all the essentials and then some. Warm and very comfortable.

Very tight parking off the street. The gates were quite narrow.

Lovely comfortable clean quiet place to stay in York, off road parking, short walk to Tesco's, good butcher just across from apartment, around half hour walk to city but plenty of buses pass 5 min top of street, will hopefully be stopping next year

Absolutely fantastic property and can’t wait to visit again

We felt treated in a special way. The hosts took their annex as a way of welcoming you with as much tea, coffee, sugar, chocolate as you wanted. There was fresh fruit and chocolates and a pint of milk. The kitchen was well stocked and had everything you needed to make it feel like home

First class accommodation.

Could not fault anything about this property and the hosts. Jo and Andrew made us very welcome. On arrival we found welcome note with sweets and flowers. The cupboards were stocked with tea, coffee, condiments, and coffee machine, and cereals and milk in the fridge. In the bathroom was shampoo, shower gel, etc. Everything you could need. Great position for travelling into York City. We used the local bus service, stop right outside apartment or 5 minute walk down to the main road. We tried the local pub for a meal out, very good. Also, the fish and chip shop, very big portions :). Would definitely book this property again.

Absolutely loved it!

This exceeded our expectations and we loved it. We honestly couldn't find one thing wrong with it because it was so great. The bedroom was so comfortable and the main room cosy with brilliant facilities. It is on a lovely, quiet street near York, with a short bus ride allowing us to easily get to the city centre. Great welcome pack, with cupboards well stocked with a range of beverages and condiments. We have been visiting York since 2006 and this is the best place we've stayed at. We hope to stay there again next time we visit.

Amazing place to stay

This place is AMAZING a real home from home. Everything was so clean and cared for. On arrival there was fresh milk in the fridge, fresh flowers 💐 a wide range of teas coffees even cereals. As visiting in winter the heating was on or we had a fire we could use but didn't need to. Really spacious, comfortable bed great shower. 10/10 5* all round. Kitchen Very well equipped. Information and instructions of local services, taxis restaurants etc.... in a folder. Can't praise enough and Highly recommend a visit.

A perfect stay with the best hosts.

This was by far the best apartment we have stayed in (and we have stayed in some great ones) The hosts were marvelous, messaging ahead to say we could check in early if we wanted and giving us a very warm personal welcome. The apartment was spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated with a great kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, living room, dining room, sun room and even a furnished garden area. The hosts left fresh milk, a huge bowl of lovely fresh fruits, chocolates, an amazing selection of coffees teas and biscuits and even a fresh bouquet of flowers!! There really were too many thoughtful extras to list (such as a torch and a night light in the hallway) The location was great. Very quiet but close to bus routes. Buses run regularly to the center and only take a few minutes. One evening we walked home from the center in about 40 minutes along the attractive Tadcaster road. Private parking was a huge bonus. Perfect! We would love to stay again. If there was a Booking.com award for the best hosts, these guys deserve it. Many thanks Andy and Jo.

The apartment was very well equipped, particularly the kitchen which made it much easier to self-cater than in other places we've stayed in. A lot of thought has clearly gone into making the stay as comfortable as possible for their guests and it was greatly appreciated. We would definitely stay here again if we were to return to York.

We had an amazing time in this cute and lovingly prepared apartment. The selection of tea, the range of cooking equipment, the cozy living room and the comfy beds exceeded our expectations. You could tell that a lot of thought has gone into preparing this apartment for guests and we were left wanting for nothing, other than having booked an even longer stay. The apartment was bigger than we expected and the connections to the centre of York are good.

This is a self catering property .Location is about 2.5 miles from the city centre and public transport is easily accessible. We got a taxi into York and it cost £8 each way.

Brilliant host and beautiful apartment in an ideal quiet location. A welcome gift of fresh flowers and chocolates was a lovely touch. Apartment was immaculately clean. The fridge was stocked with milk. The kitchen was stocked with tea bags, coffee and breakfast cereals. York City centre is easily accessible by bus. The bus stop only a 5 minute walk away. We also had a great meal at the local pub which was only a 10 minute walk away. Also make sure you visit the Butchers across the road. The best pork pies I've ever tasted and beautiful bacon!!!!! Couldn't recommend this booking enough. Would gladly book again. Worth every penny.

Excellent and most comfortable stay in a well placed apartment

The host met us on arrival and gave us a quick tour of the apartment. A bottle of milk and orange juice had been provided for our arrival and a selection of tea/coffee etc. were available to use if required. The apartment was comfortable and warm, and the host indicated that if we were not warm enough to just let them know and they would turn up the heating. They seemed to have gone over and above to make sure you have an enjoyable stay. We really liked that bath sheet towels had been provided as well as bath and hand towels as these are not normally provided at other places we have stayed. In the hallway lots of information on places to visit during our stay had been provided and details of bus services to and from the vicinity of the property were included in the apartment information folder. The hosts have thought of everything to make your stay an enjoyable and stress free one - we even spotted some items that other accommodation hosts have not provided, e.g. luggage weighing device, USB phone charger. We were using the apartment as a base whilst we visited the Yorkshire Balloon Fiesta which was being held in nearby Knavesmire, but we have already said that the apartment would also be great to use as a base for exploring York city centre. Our daughter and family were coming to the Balloon Fiesta on the Sunday and the hosts were kind enough to let them park their car on the drive as well as our car, which we felt was very lovely of them. as it saved our daughter parking costs at the fiesta.

The only negative we can come up with is that we felt the size of the tea cups/mugs were on the small side - but this is down to personal choice and by no way is really a negative. There were other smaller coffee cups and some larger cups that were more like bowls. This small point by us might not be something others would be bothered about and it certainly did not spoil our stay. In the bigger scheme of things if that was the only thing we did not like then it's nothing.
