I just needed a bed.

Just about ok for a night but not for any longer.

Restaurant was good in the evenings, nice selection of food. Very limited at breakfast - if you go with a 1950's American vibe where were the Pancakes, eggs easier over etc etc.

Room was tiny and felt more like student accommodation (that's being nice) than a Hotel Room. Shower was unpleasant and had tiles missing from the floor and more came off on my feet. Bed was ok but squeaked and creaked like it was a rubber mattress when you moved. When the hotel corridors are candy pink and colourful the room was just white and lifeless. The only colour in the room was the green(ish) Tiles in the bath room.

It has potential, but needs some simple fixes

Good location for travelling, very easy to find (as we had no phone signal at the time, we found it without even knowing the address 😅). The lady on reception was very kind and helpful. The bathrooms felt recently renovated and were very nice. (however, see the bits we didn't like before reading the next section) For the reasons listed below, we requested a refund but as this had to be done through Booking.com we couldn't receive a refund. The lady on reception very kindly allowed us to upgrade to a larger room for a minimal extra payment. It could be a nicer place, it just needs some simple renovation with better lighting and bedding decisions.

Entrance and hallway to the rooms needs renovating. It had a strange smell, was a bit dark and had missing or worn carpet. It was clean but it felt dirty for the reasons mentioned above. The room we were given was quite claustrophobic (it would suit a single bed better). The fluorescent tube bulbs used for the main lighting were too bright for the size of the room and made a weird humming noise (could easily change this to a LED with a warm colour temperature). The side light was very cheap and the colour temperature was far too white (even just changing the bulb to a 2700K bulb would help). Finally, the bedding felt very cheap and was two single duvets instead of one double duvet? Again, I think the room was clean but it felt dirty due to the lighting and cheap bedding. As mentioned above, we were given a room upgrade with a view of the road and more space which helped but the bedding and lighting issued remained. We actually removed the fluoresant tube bulbs for the duration of the stay 😅 Pool wasn't open and looked like it wasn't opening any time soon? We didn't eat at the restaurant but it seemed very expensive. They seem like nice people but everything is looking and feeling a bit old and tired. Hope these simple things can be fixed 😊

Staff were very friendly and helpful. The pool area was very good - plenty of room to relax, not crowded, with options for cocktails before dinner and dinner. Food was a high standard, and they were really accommodating to the children. The hotel is a way out of Lugano, so it was good to be able to relax by the pool after sightseeing and knowing you don´t have to go and find a restaurant. The staff helped us change one of the rooms we booked after it became apparent that we had´t made the right choices via booking.com. Note that some rooms face outwards and are light but the ones at the back are not so light and seem smaller (but are cheaper). Breakfast selection not extensive but adequate. They made us cappuccinos on request which was appreciated.

It is further out of Lugano than expected. 20 minute drive into the lake. Air conditioning had been installed but was localised to when you were near the machine. My parents (in another room) reported that their air conditioning was really noisy with a light which lit up the room and they couldn´t sleep well as a result.

We loved the retro vibe of the hotel & beautiful view of the mountains from the room and the pool.

We loved the pool, including the excellent view of the mountains, good vibes of the bartender and other patrons. They made us feel welcome and we had a lot of fun!

We just would have preferred a queen or full bed, as opposed to two separate beds pushed together.

Theme 3.5 star hotel off the beaten path is a good value for under $150

Hotel Vezia is a theme hotel in which my husband and I enjoyed. He was even happier that the hotel offered a free bus voucher that allowed us to travel to Central Lugano at no extra cost. We walked 20 meters to the bus stop and was downtown within 15 minutes. Clean and comfortable room.

I booked the Hotel Vezia using Booking.com because the address stated it was in Lugano, the cost, and the theme. However, we paid $260 for one night. Therefore, we paid $100( One hundred dollars/Swiss Francs) over the price of the room by using Booking.com compared to if we had booked directly with Hotel Vezia. If I had booked directly with the hotel, I would have paid $120 (One hundred twenty dollars/Swiss Francs) less. Also, the hotel is located in Vezia, Switzerland and not in Lugano. Although it is a 10 min bus/car ride from Lugano, but it is not in Lugano which is misleading.

Time travel to the 1950s (with modern comfort!)

Absolutely fantastic stay, from start-to-finish! The location was perfect, with ample on-site parking. There is free public transport available, included in the price of the room and a bus stop outside the hotel, with the bus taking around 10 minutes to reach the centre. The rooms was clean and comfortable, with air conditioning. The staff were fantastic and the 1950s style diner on site was amazing! Lugano was the most beautiful place that we stayed at, in Switzerland and if we came back again, this is where we would want to stay.

The room was clean and it was quiet in the night time. The staff was really nice and helpful. The swimming pool is nice!

The breakfast is poor, both option and quality wise. Bread and croissants not fresh. There was no omlette or other warm dishes.

Superb

Fantastic idea with the 50’s theme - we both loved it! Very unusual and creates a unique experience… the staff are very welcoming and nice.. the fact that one can have a place to stay and a garage is super cool! The place is not far from Lugano so that is also quite convenient… we enjoyed it all very much!

The pillows were not the most comfortable (more like almost nonexistent:))..

It was a nice and pleasant stay.

The personnel is very friendly and helpful. The premises are tidy and clean. And each room (I think so) has its own garage box so that you can close your car away protected from environmental influences (given that your car is not over-sized).

The WIFI was rather weak. By the installation of a few repeaters this could be improved easily.
