Served my purpose - a bed, a bath, breakfast - but would not recommend for tourists.

Clean, decent bathroom. Close to the train station.

Very basic room, practically nothing else but a bed, a cupboard, a bathroom, and a small TV with limited channels. Other guests were very noisy, talking in the hallways, opening and closing doors, coming and going, it all echoed through the hotel. Breakfast was basic continental. There are few amenities around, or eat-out places, other than sandwich shops at the station. Getting to restaurants involves a steep climb down to the promenade, and a steep climb back up. There is a funicular though.

Located near train station

The hotel was a 5 minute walk from the railway station. Gabrielle from the front desk was extremely helpful and accommodated our requests.

The quantity of the bath gel sachets was insufficient. It would have been more efficient and environmentally friendly to provide the gel in a single soap dispenser instead of multiple plastic sachets with tiny amounts of gel.

Estancia perfecta

Sólo estuvimos una noche pero estuvo genial porque llegamos caminando desde la estación de tren, después fuimos a pasear al lago y también fue caminando y muy bonito el trayecto. La habitación tenía un balcón y todo se veía muy tranquilo.

Disappointing

This hotels major asset is its location and that is what you are paying for. On the plus side the reception staff were friendly and the room was clean but that's where the positives end.

The furniture is very dated and sets a disappointing tone from the start. The beds are uncomfortable and the pillows were so thin that they offered no support to the neck. There is no dedicated shower in the bathroom, just a shower hose extension on the bath. We had a family room at the front of the building which for some reason was located directly across from the lift exit. On top of that there was zero noise insulation from the road in front of our room and we could also hear all noises from the tenants around us. The balcony was an afterthought with plastic seating and generally dirty. This property is just about passable for one night.

Simple, comfortable hotel

The staff were very welcoming and helpful during check in. Our rooms were comfortable. It is a short walk from the train station and the main part of Lugano and lake is a short funicular ride. We used the free transportation passes provided at checkin.

There is not much to do or places to eat by the hotel. You can not really walk to much from the hotel besides the train station.

Planned one night and stayed for three.loved the area and the Ticino ticket I will return

Location perfect. Bus stop in front of hotel to downtown. Quick 2-3 minute walk to train station on side by track number 4. Robert and staff most helpful answering travel questions and providing directions. The included Ticino ticket is amazing for Free transportation.

Property is basic. Clean and comfortable, perfect as base for day trips.

Simple check in, very friendly and cooperative staff. The room was basic, but clean and air conditioned. Location is fair.

There was no facilities to make te or coffee, however, the staff provided hot water whenever I needed.

Rapide et efficace.

La situation géographique, le prix ainsi que la raison de mon voyage ont fait porter mon choix sur cet hôtel raisonnable au niveau du prix et à côté de la gare. J'ai été satisfaite de mon séjour car la chambre était certes vieillotte mais propre et sans punaises de lit, deux critères primordiaux pour moi.

Rien en particulier. C'est un veille hôtel, il faudrait qu'il soit complètement rénové mais si c'était le cas, les tarifs ne seraient plus les mêmes.

So close to train station if take the correct path (but lack of clear walking direction from the hotel)

Tiny motel like feeling, and most noticeably, the room key is attached to a heavy and bulky metal tower that hard to carry (see picture). Maybe a style 100 year ago, but total inconvenient for today's traveler. That shows the age of this hotel and the management.

Hôtel à excellent rapport qualité-prix. Accueil chaleureux. On se sent à la maison.

Nous avons beaucoup apprécié l'accueil du personnel. La situation de l'hôtel à deux minutes de la gare et du funiculaire qui relie la gare au centre de Lugano est idéale. Les chambres sont grandes, les salles de bain aussi. Propreté remarquable. Le petit-déjeuner est payant (10 francs) mais très copieux et diversifié.

Seul bémol pour les chambres qui donnent sur la route: le bruit de la circulation qui peut déranger même avec des fenêtres insonorisées.
