It's an amazing Grotto lead by a very friendly guest and Signora Flora and her team are highly guest and service oriented. The culinary experience with local specialities and fresh produce is a highlight, lovely garden patio to enjoy drinks in the evening and breakfast in the morning. Off the beaten path - but reachable by public transport (bus) from Lugano station.
The ensuite bathroom was very clean, however even for a very slim person tiny - fine for a couple of nights.

Very warm, friendly service
It would nice to have tea/coffee alongside the kettle. Very nice to have a warm drink when one arrives at a hotel. Seemed odd to have a kettle but no teabags etc.

The lady who was checking in and serving the breakfast was extremely nice. Breakfast is predefined and served on a plate, but it was more than enough for me. Coffee was not bad. The breakfast is served in a nice patio with birdsong, which I would have enjoyed if not the extremely talkative and loud guests at the other table. Free parking is available. The B&B is situated on top of the mountain, and there's a vibe as if you're visiting your grandparents' place in a village. Not bad for 1 night.
My room was really small, especially the bathroom area. A net on the windows must be added as I had a bunch of insects and fireflies in my room.

Beautiful area and wonderful property. A bit of a challenge to drive the narrow streets to climb the hill but well worth it. The staff treats you like a long lost friend and you feel at home immediately. Delightful dinner and breakfast. Most highly recommended

It was very beautiful- like being in a comfortable home. Loved the flowers and ambiance and the joy of the owners.

Fantastic place!
This is a family run B&B for 100 years.
The owner with the team provide great service with kindness and smile on the face. The place has unique spirit and character, with the way it is decorated, designed...The Teddy bears at the reception!
And if you want to take a few mins ride (or 25-30min walk like I did) you can enjoy the breathtaking panoramic view- Sasso delle Parole.

Flora, the owner, was the sweetest little lady. I felt like I was visiting an old friend. The breakfast and dinner were both delicious. The breakfast was even served to me at the table, with coffee, prosciutto, homemade jam, bread etc, while Flora sat at my table and talked to me.
The room was a little small, but still clean and had all the amenities. The location was hard to find since there were no visible signs. I also had to drive through some very narrow roads that a bigger car than my Audi A3 might not have fit through.

Nicest and warmest welcome of any stay in my life. The staff made me feel at home every day.
Rooms are clean, the BnB also has a popular restaurant. The breakfast is personnalized.
They offer ingredients from their own garden in the breakfast and dinner formulas.
The business is family owned and run.
Transport (Ticino ticket) is included with the stay, so no need to bother bringing a car.
There was nothing i didn't like. Everything was perfect for a 4 days solo hiking trip.
In terms of transport only: to arrive to the BnB with no car meant using the postal bus, which stops running at midnight. The Grotto Flora BnB is 15 min uphill from Lugano so late nights in town without a car is challenging (taxis are expensive in Switzerland).

dinner was very good, room and bed comfortable and cool despite the heat outside. Quirky decor in places and the most wonderful selection of glasses all of which seem to be in use.
breakfast was disappointing both in service and quality compared to the evening meal experience. Despite there being boiled eggs and yogurt available to order the overwhelming impression we were left with was one of skimpiness as the table was given only one small and very thin piece of dried meat per person and one small cube of cheese. It's a shame to do this as the breakfast is the final impression of a hotel. This could be fixed very easily.

Very nice welcome. It is nice to feel that this B&B has been run by the same family for many years. The rroms were very spacious, one of them was very nicely decorated with a strong Italian feel. Breakfast was great, very homely.

I am convinced I could not find a better place to stay in Lugano with my budget. I enjoyed being there with Flora and Ziella's hospitality; they were nice to me like a family. The location was distant(25 min by bus) from the city, but it was worth it.
The room was small, and access to the city wasn't easy as it should be done via the 436-line bus passing the station every hour.

Nicely decorated room. Comfortable bed & pillows. Very clean! In an older building which had a lot of charm. The owner was friendly. Breakfast was not a lot, but was good. Dinner was amazing!
My room was right outside the courtyard where you eat breakfast. I had the window open, so I was woken up a little earlier than I would have liked...

Amazing hotel aside from tourist crowds, near the viewpoint. Clean, a lot of nice designed details in the 300 y.o renovated villa. Owner Flora is extremely kind and welcoming!!
