Wonderful stay in a historic inn and a peaceful village!

I had a wonderful two-night stay. Room was very attractive. Great views of the mountains and the village. Peaceful. A step back in time. Staff was very friendly. Very tasty dinner.

Exceptional

Ristorante Unione is a restaurant and hotel with several rooms. We stayed at the hotel in early August. The room was neat and clean with a beautiful view of the mountains. The bathrooms were separate. The outside restaurant was especially nice, a few tables surrounded in a beautiful garden, lots of plants and flowers and atmospheric lighting. Food was really good. The owners took great care of us and other guests and told interesting facts about the area. Real service with passion straight from the heart. About 4 km further there is a beautiful waterfall Cascata del Salto, which is worth seeing. Having a car, it is worth going to Lavertezzo to see the Ponte dei Salti bridge over the Verzasca river as well. Also worth seeing is Locarno, which can be reached by direct bus. I highly recommend Unione, I will definitely visit again!

Submerged in Nature, friendly and comfortable stay!

Unione is the perfect stay for exploring the surrounding area of Valle Maggia. The location is breathtaking, right next to the mountains and a little river nearby you feel submerged in nature. Unione has a beautiful garden with all sorts of fruits and flowers growing. You can eat your breakfast outside taking in the view and the serene atmosphere. The rooms are very clean and comfortable, the shared bathrooms were also spotless! They keep the house cool during the hot day which is very satisfying as well. Price vs. Value is 10/10. I liked the location and the breakfast. The room had rustic charm and a kettle, table, chair and desk in the room with wardrobe.

There was no ensuite bathroom so be prepared to share. Also the room has no TV but that isnt necessary for us, however the walls are quite thin and you can hear noisy neighbors.

Not bad, but not great either - OK for a short short stay

Location is good. My room was spacious with a small balcony, and had a nice view to the old town of Gordevio. Staff is friendly.

Rooms are poorly furbished, which is a pity because the building itself is charming and has a lot of potential. Beds are not the best. I only had a very slim pillow and there were no additional ones available. Breakfast was a big let down - one would expect to have a few local products since the valley has so much to offer. The fact that bathrooms are shared is OK, but I guess it would be annoying for a stay more than a few days.

Perfekt gelegen für eine Übernachtung von zwei Wandervögeln im wunderschönen Herbst des Maggiatals.

Wir brauchten für eine zweitägige Wanderung eine Unterkunft im Maggiatal. Das Hotel Unione war dafür ideal. Einfache Zimmer mit Labvabo und Gemeinschafts-Wc und -Duschen auf der Etage. Beides neu renoviert, in bestem Zustand und blitzsauber. Das Frühstück war tadellos. Wir waren die einzigen Frühstücksgäste, was aber beim Buffet keinerlei Abstriche verursachte. Das Nachtessen war ebenfalls sehr fein und die Bedienung äusserst nett

Authentisch, im Grünen, gut erreichbar, wunderschön!

Das Hotel Unione ist wundervoll, denn es liegt absolut ruhig im oberen Dorfteil. Nur das Rauschen des Baches ist zu hören. Das Zimmer ist gemütlich eingerichtet und der Wirt ist sehr hilfsbereit. Ein Gartenrestaurant lädt zum Verweilen ein und grenzt an Garten und Wald. Dazu kommt, dass im 30 min Takt ein Bus von Locarno ins Maggiatal fährt und man so mit öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln schnell überall hinkommt. Ich kann diese Unterkunft wärmstens empfehlen und komme gerne wieder.
