Fantastic base for hiking in the region

The Locanda is located at a key spot in Vallemaggia, close to many hikes, Grottos and also from Maggia but w/o being too close to urban areas - there is a bus stop just in front of the Locanda. The staff is very friendly. The breakfast is good. The room we stayed in was big, very clean and comfortable.

The Locanda is close to the road in Vallemaggia, and we could hear cars passing by at night. Nothing grave, but if you have problems sleeping (which you shouldn't have after a good day of hiking), maybe you should look for other places.

What a great place to stay

It's like staying at a friend's house. A very nice house with a great room ( way bigger than we expected), great hosts and a lovely and delicious breakfast. Highly recommend.

The hotel was very nice and the garden a great place for dinner and breakfast. The staff was extremely kind and easy going. Breakfast were delicious with plenty of homemade staff! We had a family bedroom which was very clean and we loved our stay there. Dinner was also homemade and very yummy. I am not a fan of Polenta and there it worths a try! very very good. We hope to be back soon.

Lovely place

We only stayed for one night, in the family suite. It has two comfortable bedrooms plus a nursery with a little cot, and a nice bathroom with shower. We slept very well! The breakfast was great, with lots of homemade jams and yogurt.

If really one wants to be picky the bathroom could benefit from an update. And being a family room, a bathtub would be much more convenient to bath the kids at night. But we were absolutely fine with it.

Nicht gefallen ist übertrieben, das Hotel liegt direkt an der Strasse. Wer ein leichter Schlaf hat könnte sich am Verkehr stören. Uns hat es nicht gestört.

Als besonders positiv haben wir die Freundlichkeit und die Servicebereitschaft von dem gesamten Team empfunden!Wir wurden ständig gefragt ob alles in Ordnung ist...Zudem ist das Personal sehr Tierlieb und unser Hund hat sich genauso wohl gefühlt wie wir!Der freute sich jeden Morgen besonders darüber,dass er vom gesamten Hotelpersonal persönlich begrüßt worden ist:-)Als eines Abends ein herrenloser Hund vor dem Hotel aufgetaucht ist,hat sich das Personal intensiv darum gekümmert den Besitzer zu finden und den Hund mit Nahrung/Wasser versorgt.Das hat uns wirklich sehr berührt!Als wir zudem am letzten Tag kurzfristig schon um 5 Uhr Morgens abreisen mussten,hat uns die nette Dame am Abend zuvor noch ein großzügiges "Frühstück to Go "zubereitet.Wirklich ein unglaublich tolles Hotel mit sehr lieben Menschen und jedem zu empfehlen!
