Poor accommodation but great view/location

The property’s location is great as it’s on the top of a tiny hill with a great view over the mountains and overall the place is charming, almost entirely made of rocks surrounded by plants and trees.

Mixed information about the parking space and kind of annoying to park at the bottom of the hill knowing you’ll have to walk with your luggages to the final place. The place is extremely tiny, mattresses were not comfortable and for four people definitely not enough space. The night was extremely difficult as two out of the four beds were in the attic which made the night way too warm to sleep. I had to get the mattress downstairs ( not easy ) to hope for some sleep. Plus, we spent the whole night without electricity! Indeed, a moment after arriving we turned on ONE fan and lost power, expect in the bathroom. Despite the instructions we spent 30-40mn in the dark inside and outside trying to solve the issue without anyone to call and without success. Facilities inside were not enough as an example : a not usable coffee machine. Overall for the price we expected way much more and the only positive thing about that stay was the view in the morning. We left very fast.

Very pleasant courtyard area and a nice place to stay.

Clean house. Dishwashing machine was a huge plus compared to other locatons I stayed in during my vacation. During sunny days the courtyard was a nice place to be and eat outside. Bathroom color was a bit weird, but it was also very clean and the shower was good. There was nothing to complain about

It's possible that the groundfloor kitchen area is cold and damp during the colder time of the year, but during our stay we ate outside in the courtyard anyway so this did not afffect the grade. Anyway upstairs bedroom air was warm and dry so no real issues.

Charming and quaint

It’s a great location, really original and truly charming. The communication with the staff was great, we even got a map with parking spots explained.

Walking to the bathroom in the rain wasn’t too pleasant but we are also not made of sugar! :) It was a bit hard to find our cottage as we arrived late at night in the dark. It would be great to install plates with directions.

The view.

Read the description of the room EXTREMELY CAREFULLY! We thought external bathroom meant bathroom on the hallway,but it was actually outside, in another building which was 2 small staircases away. If it rains,it's really unpleasant especially because the stairs are slippery and there are not enough lights outside and the sensor light from the building where the bathroom is goes out really really fast! The room was basically underground,badly lit, very humid,with a musty smell and also an awkward door inside. This room was most certainly part of an appartament since on the other side you could hear people cook and go to the bathroom! There was no chair or table,not to mention mirror or even space to put your luggage. The sheets smelled terribly musty and gave the impression of being used before; after wetting the towels you couldn't get near them anymore because of the pungent smell. The parking lot near the Rustici is ALWAYS FULL. the other ones are very very very far away! Reccomandations: -change the description: private Bathroom in a nearby building outside!! - change the towels and the sheets with new ones-most likely they are worn out and because of the humidity won't ever have a good smell! -there is a water source and next door also a bathroom! Maybe invest in a sink at least? - use a dehumidifier and air freshener? The price for such a room should be at least half of the price of a normal room! Tops chf 70 for 2 nights. There is no justification for the price you rent the room just because we are in Switzerland.

The Rustico is very special and has a very uncommon structure

When we arrived it was dark and we spent half an hour to figure out where to park and what was the better way to go up with the Rustico. At the end we parked down the slope and we had to walk about 500 m up on the slope to reach the place

Exceptional

Original stone exterior create amazing atmosphere as if you're being moved back in time. The is a lovely garden. I also had a big window with the direct entrance to the garden with wonderful view. The kitchen is well equipped. The contact person answers very quickly and both check in and check out is well organized and quick. The place is close to many interesting trails. The parking is outside but it's close and easy to find.

I liked everything. Would be however nice to have a little wood for the barbeque outside.

Nothing, really. only that manager doesn’t respond right away. we always were able to get answers eventually (like code to enter— we booked just an hour before arriving, and next morning we asked if we could stay another night and took some time and effort to get a response)— but we always did get it figured out. ideally, book a bit more in advance!

Nice quiet and good location, old rustici, lovely from the outside and on pictures.

The light sensors at night don't really light up until you are right under them, hence dangerous because they should turn on at a distance, not right in front of stairs and small alleys and low roofs. The way is just very dark and not well lit. Towels were old and there was one / person, no hand towel provided. No fan in the room, and not enough space for the bags and luggage, no wifi and no instructions. No answer to my request, since I was on medical leave and thus had to return home after one night. My little girl was scared at night to go to the bathroom and wet the bed. Not even coffee was offered in the morning. Service is BARE MINIMUM - however the owners stretch the price up.

Cute compound of individual houses, comfortable & clean, amazing surroundings with garden and terrace and decoration.

Not ideal for spontaneous booking - I did the reservation the same day, arrived 1h later. Now there is no front desk, only a letterbox with a code you're supposed to have received via SMS or eMail. Called the number, no one answers, received the code only 25min later.

Fabulous little rustico. Just 15 min drive from Lugano but already offers a feeling of being somewhere remote. Very well equipped, superbly clean and versatile.

My wife and I have stayed in almost all of the units in the Rustici Maggia, and have always been happy with the accommodations. The houses are simple but charming. The kitchens are well equipped, and there are indoor and outdoor fireplaces. The houses are well maintained and always clean. For climbers, the location is ideal, as there are many climbing locations near by.

Wonderful cottages with all you need. Loved the spacious private garden. Peaceful. Very comfy bed. Overall well kept and clean. Kitchen was well equipped. Even though we came in December, the heating was perfect and the additional fireplace amazing. Easy check in and good info beforehand. But we never so staff. Makes it a bit impersonal.

When lying in bed we realized that the ceiling was covered in spider webs - not a pleasant feeling and could have been easily cleaned. The hot water boiler is perfect with enough water for 2 people. But if 2 more people have a shower from room 5 (we stayed in cottage 2), I wonder if it is enough.

The Moment we Opened the main door it was very scary , the rooms smelled like fungus and room number 3 has bathroom in the opposite room which was shared by other rooms as well, so there was no privacy and the neighbors were too loud at night and we had to cancel our trip and come back early as possible . because my wife was falling sick . one of the worst experience 😔 not worth for the money

The huts habe been made very nicely and the outside area with the different sitting areas was great.

With room no 3 ther e was no nice cosy area to sit inside (e.g. no sofa nor armchair.
