A perfect getaway spot but still usefully located.

A charming hotel and wonderful owners. Check-in was friendly, the room was spotless, clean and nicely presented, the breakfast was outstanding and exceedingly generous, and the location was perfect... literally across from the (very) local rail line and a short walk to a couple of lovely restaurants.

Very modern and clean. Great interior design and a very good breakfast! Location is good and near a train stop. Incredibly Great restaurants near by. A nice little town to walk around in nearby.

Parking costs extra if the small, tight parking lot is full. A train goes right next to the hotel until midnight and from 6 am. So ask for a room away from the tracks if you want peace and quiet

Perfect comfort

I loved everything about Hotel Barbaté. The room was spacious, bed really very comfortable. The hotel is at Tegna Railway Station one of the stops of the Centovalli Railway. I travel by public transport and it was a great advantage for me. Bus stations are close too. Breakfasts were delicious, with great choice. What I liked the best was the owners hospitality and friendliness.

Really charming hotel

The room was a little bit tiny (we booked the cheapest one), but the hotel is very cozy and you can feel it is cared of with love. It has great views and everything is where it should be. The breackfast is very nice, with very good products. The best are the owners, very attentive and irradiating good vibes. In one word, you can define it as CHARM (as its name)

The railway is 2 metres away from the hotel, if you open the windows you feel it, but if not, It is very well soundproofed.

We and our friends had a wonderful ground floor room each with access to private sitting area in lovely garden. The staff was exceptionally friendly, helpful and welcoming. They booked two restaurant for us. The breakfast buffet was of outstanding quality.

Amazing !

There's nothing not to like about it ! This hotel is simply amazing, from staff to facility. We arrived a bit late post check-in hours but the owner kindly came to check-us in anyways, he was very friendly and seems to speak a ton of languages ! We had booked an economy room but he said that a better one was available so he offered it to us for no further money. We just felt so welcome from the start, the room we ended up in had a little garden with a view, the shower was amazing ! The bed simply one of the most comfortables I"ve ever slept in ! It was simply an overall wonderful stay ! We got a ticino ticket for free which allowed us to take public transportations for free around ticino for one day. That's a very nice bonus !

Never again.

My girlfriend and I, we are both entrepreneurs and wanted a short 2 night escape to recover from our everyday life. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a bad idea staying at this place. What is good and what we support: + small family run hotel + local produce + friendly staff

What was very disappointing: - paying for regular ("more expensive room"), we received the worst room (which we did not book) for the first night (out of 2 nights; both cost CHF 570!). The owner informed us that if we would not be able to sleep, we could get another room the next night. Indeed, first night was a sleepless night, then we got moved for the last night to the room we had booked. - one of the owners behaves totally rude and one could have the impression she selected the wrong industry to work in. Our perception was that she was an unpleasant person to be dealing with and to be surrounded with (#badkarma).

TOP! Wir kommen wieder! Klare Empfehlung!

Das Frühstück war ausgezeichnet – nicht übermässig gross, dafür in erstklassiger Qualität. Die Gastgeber waren ausgesprochen freundlich, gaben uns hilfreiche Restaurantempfehlungen und übernahmen sogar die Reservierung. Das Hotel wirkt sehr gepflegt, gemütlich und angenehm familiär, mit vielen Stammgästen. In unmittelbarer Nähe gibt es einen öffentlichen Parkplatz; Parkkarten erhält man direkt im Hotel. Alternativ kann man auch einen Platz direkt beim Eingang buchen, der jedoch in der Regel im Voraus reserviert werden muss. Hunde sind im Hotel erlaubt – uns hat das nicht gestört, aber für Allergiker ist diese Information sicher hilfreich.

Zimmer auf der Bahnseite sind für lärmempfindliche Gäste weniger empfehlenswert. Auch an das im Tessin typische Glockengeläut muss man sich zunächst gewöhnen. Die Kirche mit Glockenturm ist in unmittelbarer Nähe. Ev. 1 Glas Merlot mehr trinken vor dem zu Bett gehen! :-)
