Location was perfect for my purposes. I did arrive in the morning for a lunch time meeting, and as there was an available room, the front desk kindly checked me in early. This was hugely appreciated.
Within the actual room itself, I would have appreciated a coat hook and a boot tray for wet shoes. I was there during a light winter storm, and it was not ideal to hang my wet things in the closet.

Location
Staying here used to b a wonderful full service experience and now it’s a run down service-less mess. Everything in the room is broken and room service is the girl at the front who checked u in with to go containers in a brown bag with plastic forks. A towel and a half and a 5 dollar water in a 400 dollar a night room is disgusting. The curtains have holes and there r pictures ripped off the walls. We won’t b back for the view as we will try and remember what once was a very nice place and is now a run down mess with very very very bad service.

They are planning renovation and the last 2 times we stayed there the drapes were very ripped and toilet seat bad shape

Location Location Location!
Great place to stay when seeing a show at the Benedum.
The room's doorknob gave us some problems. The card worked but we had to really yank hard on the door lever to get the door open. Also, while showering, a good bit of water escaped to the floor (enough to soak the bath mat) even though we had the liner inside the tub.

Staff was very friendly and inclusive. Location location location!!!! Loved the area. Super easy to get around and close to so many things. Valley service was really nice. A little pricey I think but super nice.
On morning of checkout could not watch anything on the tv in the room starting at like 3-4 am. Was up early and wanted a slow morning checking out, finish watching a movie from the night before and get breakfast. The tv kept kicking me out every 30 mins or so after not having any problems the other days we stayed.

I loved the location. My wife and I always do a night staycation in our city after Christmas (It had been some time since we had stayed here, but this may be my favorite). However, having booked through booking, and having stayed before with a more complete view down the river, I will make sure to pay more, get the full view, experience. The bathroom was actually larger this stay with the smaller room (we still had a slight view. The room was still comfortable/ romantic. And I always look for rooms that are soundproofed to put my wife at ease. On a cold evening, to have the restaurant downstairs, even in the lobby, made things so easy. We enjoyed our complimentary appetizer, everything, and our server couldn't have been nicer. I loved the lobby decorated for Christmas. It is simply grand. The bed is incredibly comfortable, the room warm (perhaps my wife made it too so, but it was fine). For a grande dame of yesteryear, you also receive the best of modern comfort. We loved the interior design in the hallways, the contrasting gray and whites, and bold artistic choices...felt again both contemporary and original and highlighted the city and its artists. I really appreciate they honored my request for extra towels. I always request something to check the hospitality of a hotel. This hotel provides friendly correspondance and first class accomodations.
The limited view. I will save, or schedule better to ensure to get a true riverview room. We really needed the black out shades to be pulled also from some incredibly bright lights shining from the building. I think the hotel had already planned for this. However, in the morning, it was nice to open the one window, and get a view of the bridge and PNC park from bed!
I "didn't like" that the Turkish Breakfast was closed down the street on a Wed. of all days, but that is more a disappointment, their perogative. I was really looking forward to that treat since it was so close, but luckily the hotel has a coffee bar in the lobby selling La Prima espresso and coffee drinks (from anyone out of town, that is one of our premier roasters from our market/ "Strip" district, and I would recommend their cappucino or espresso).

From the moment you walk in it smells good and is very clean! The structure and decor is absolutely beautiful in the lobby area
Could just hear some traffic in the morning but not bad enough to where I wouldn’t stay again

Gorgeous hotel and location is key!
The shower did not work, the water was cold, and the fan in bathroom didn’t work.

Great location in the heart of the cultural district
The restaurant renovation made the beginning of our lobby meal noisy; the staff did their best to distract from the noise

Not very nice area; didn’t feel safe letting my wife go outside by herself after dark. Bed was broken.

There was leaking in on the left side of the sink when you turn on the hot water.

Location, lobby. The fact that they allowed us to check in a bit early.
The maintenance of the room was awful. Broken furniture, tore down curtains, dripping faucet in the shower. The room (9th floor) was in bad shape. Also, the fact that they don’t clean every meat is noticeable. A giant spider web in the inside of the window. The room had a view, but the windows were so incredibly dirty outside that it made it not enjoyable. Breakfast not included, parking is one block away from the hotel.

we received breakfast coupons for each day and the breakfast was very nice. Coffee was good. Service was great.
The only thing I can think of that could be improved is the doors to the suite and the toilet stall, swing freely and slam against the walls. Also, the floor to ceiling curtains are so heavy they’re pretty much impossible to move freely on the slides. They need to have upgraded curtain rods to support them and heavier pulls to close them. Don’t try to be cheap on that. Everything else is so nice!

I’m so disappointed it’s very hard to think through what I enjoyed because we stayed for literally two hours and checked out
When we booked this hotel several months ago, we did not know there was some sort of festival going on in Pittsburgh. Why this hotel would sell out on their valet and not save spots for their hotel guest is beyond belief so we had to walk to park our car And being a cancer patient It was terrible.

Location was perfect, located near restaurants and shopping.
Parking was across the street.

They put us on (almost) the top floor without me asking. We paid for a river view which was totally worth it. We didn't try the restaurant or bar. We would absolutely stay here again. Location was great. We went to the symphony which was right next door.

Great location. Great breakfast. Clean and comfortable rooms
Better price for parking. We ended parking a block away for much cheaper than paying hotel parking rate.

Fabulous - love the decor, gorgeous corner king room with a fantastic view of PNC Park! Excellent staff and hospitality. Our favorite place to stay in Pittsburgh!

Location to concert venue.
The heating, air conditioning and fan didn’t work in the room. The fact that I called and they were going to have an engineer check our issue the next day. We were gone for the day, when we returned the engineer nor the cleaning lady had been to our room and we had to call and request services.

Property has a great view
This hotel was significantly cheaper to stay in just a couple years ago. It has nearly tripled in price in the last 5 years. The rooms need updating and the staff was mediocre at best. There are better hotel in Pittsburgh for a fraction of the price

The location was fabulous and having public parking across the street made it even better. Valet parking was available also. Everything was spotless and the rooms were very spacious and clean. We did stay for breakfast in the restaurant in the lobby and it was superb and the wait staff were amazing.
Everything was great, so I can’t comment

Excellent location in the cultural district, super close to everything. Also the stadiums. Very comfortable room, excellent view (as promised) and friendly staff. Characteristic property with grand features but not as fussy as the William Penn. Easy parking (no need to do the valet thanks to the parking across the street..).
Coffee bar is not always open.
