Parking was a bit tricky but not bad and owner was helpful

It was very quaint, breakfast was excellent, loved the 24hr coffee.
If Landscaping and a bit more general maintenance were done it would be an exceptional property.

It was absolutely beautiful! Every detail was entirely perfect and made the experience magical. I could have spent weeks there. Plus the breakfast was amazing.

The location was quite central, about 10 minutes’ walk from bus terminal (#70, 72) to the property. The area is safe, well lit and quiet. At the time of our visit, I think we were the only guests there, so it was very quiet and pleasant. Breakfast was adequate, with different offerings each morning (we stayed for 3 nights). Bread was of good quality, totally enjoyed the toast with jam and butter. It also had a mixture of Asian selection, wonton, spring rolls and pot stickers. Cereal, orange juice, yogurt, hard boiled eggs and bananas were available. Especially enjoyed the automatic coffee machine (24 hours), where you can choose from cappuccino, mochachinno, latte, espresso or just regular coffee and chocolate. A variety of teas were also available.
Soap and shampoo dispenser in the bathroom - it only squirts an extremely small amount each time you place your hand underneath the dispenser, and it took quite a bit of back and forth to get a decent amount for a basic shower.

Great location, comfortable rooms, awesome breakfasts and quiet space
It’s not that I didn’t like it but just a note regarding parking. It’s tight and might be easier to park on street. No big deal for us. …. But just wanted to mention.

Great location. Excellent attentive staff. Very comfortable.

It was quiet and in a good location to access the harbour on foot.
The bed was very comfortable. We thought it was excellent value for the price.
It appeared to have been recently taken over by new management or new owners and the beautiful old heritage home was in need of some restoration as well as exterior cleanup.

Warm and friendly host who has converted this lovely, large old house into a quirky B&B. Very well equipped rooms and common spaces. The decor is old fashioned with a jumble of old furniture and lamps, floral wallpaper and wainscotting. I was upgraded to the Victoriana room, which has a king bed and a full bed in a small loft, a large jacuzzi bathtub /shower, fridge, large screen TV, desk with a computer, tea and coffee making facilities. Super comfortable house and great value. On a quiet residential street.

The proximity to everything was great. It was also very quiet. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was spacious.
I like the Victorian charm, but do think it could use a little freshening up.

A bit cluttered looking inside in some areas.

Location was good, near sights in downtown Victoria . Proprietor was accommodating in allowing a change of plans
Concerns about cleanliness - bedbugs detected upon pulling back bedclothes. Thin Plexiglass instead of a window. Awkward arrival procedures. Didn’t stay, (however the proprietor was gracious about cancellation )

Free upgrade to spacious comfortable suite ("secret garden" with kingsize bed from suite with queen size bed) with Jacuzzi tub.
Very comfortable bed with excellent quality bedding and pillows. Keurig machine, mini bar fridge, quaint Victorian furniture and room decor. Quiet neighborhood.
Extremely friendly owner/B&B host. Fancy, complimentary full hot breakfast with specialty coffees/hot beverages. Continental foods available as well. Optional use of exercise equipment on the porch. Very clean.

Location, old heritage home with separate units and lovely ambiance all around.
The automatic specialized coffee/hot chocolate machine didn’t work very well; however, there was a second espresso machine also.

It was perfect location. It's a bit pricy but also its thanksgiving and RVM so price are extremely high everywhere. But I cant ask for more. The place feels homy. I was able to sleep well thats the most importabt thing. The owner is hands-on and he made sure you are taken good care of. The breakfast was superb. You can't really complain. The location is just what we are looking for, 5-minute walk or even less you are already at the Parliament.
Its just a personal preference but i dont think it matter that much weighing over the convenience of location and the kindness of the owner. I see that there are too many things in the house maybe those are significant for the feels of victorian and the room orientation are different , i tried to get the hanger in the cabinet but there is a chair that block it. Also there is kind of a smell when you get in , i think so from cooking and from the cat. The cat was lovely though . It did not really bother me that much but its there so set your expectation if you are booking this place. The sheets were clean and the bathroom is also clean, that matters more for me.

The breakfast was not typical but very tasty, a mix of Asian and Western cuisine.
Great location, the cruise terminal was only a 10-15min walk from here and both Down Town and Fishermans wharf were only a short walk too.
The room was not made up on a daily basis but that wasn't a problem for me.

Great location — close to downtown but very quiet. The building has a lot of charm, and the caretaker/owner was very friendly and helpful. The resident cat was adorable, and breakfast was generous and homemade. Check-in and check-out were easy, and we appreciated having air conditioning, a good fan, and Netflix in the room.
We stayed in the Gable Room, which was a bit small and not ideal for two people or tall guests. It was dusty and smelled musty, and the slanted ceilings made the shower tricky to use. The bathroom felt makeshift with thin walls, so there wasn’t much privacy. We didn’t get to choose our breakfast items, so some food went uneaten, and on the last morning we found a live bug on the bed — possibly from the window, which didn’t have screens.

The location is great. We were leaving early the next morning on the Black Ball ferry to Port Angeles, so the location was super close and convenient!
The price ($350 US plus taxes) was very high. The building is tired and did not merit such a high price. Also, while we were told there was parking on site, it was very hard to use - super tight space at the back of the building that was challenging to access, and there was no spot for us. However, we found convenient and free street parking nearby.

We had a wonderful stay at the Haterleigh Heritage Inn. The location is ideal - a quiet street just a short walk from the harbour, downtown and ferry terminals. The building is full of character and our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was homemade and delicious and the host made us feel really welcome. A great mix of old-world charm and modern comfort. We’d definitely stay again.

Location. Breakfast was good. Bed was comfortable.
Host very helpful.
Property needs repair. Window in my room wouldn’t shut. Alot of paint peeling on exterior of window frames. I blew the electrical by having the floor a/c on and the kettle plugged in.
Stairs narrow and steep to the second floor. Hard to carry things as I needed one hand on the railing ( I am a senior with poor balance)
Parking in the back was free but backing out to the road was challenging. Needs to cut back his bushes on the driveway.

The bathroom in the room didn’t have a door

Quiet location was excellent with parking, host was very polite,
Unable to digest breakfast, much too fatty. Coffee poor quality, patron needs to be given a choice for breakfast. Bathroom faucets were unusable. AC blows directly onto pillow on bed.

It was a unique experience as we don't normally stay in this type of accommodation. The room was big and comfortable and breakfast was very good.
7.0 / 10.0
Great location, free parking, good communication with the host, quaint with charm, breakfast with an Asian twist - who doesn’t love dumplings for breakfast!
Too much stuff in the room - I like homely but sometimes a bit too much clutter, some elements around the bathroom (loofa / soap etc) felt unnecessary.

Location was great! Staff were very friendly. The home is a beautiful old heritage home.
It would have been nice to have been asked what we want for breakfast. We wasted food that didn’t agree with our stomachs but was served automatically. The tuna and seafood toast was not very appetizing.
The bathroom is also tiny and had black mould in several places.

Kind proprietor. Comfortable bed. Excellent breakfast! Good location.
Decor a little quirky. Victorian, lots of antiques, as per older B & B’s.

Very close to town and ferry station. Host kind and attentive.
So Cluttered…to much unmatched furniture and odd layout, rundown, old rubber duck and shampoo bottle in bathroom. Reported as two bedroom suite but beds only separated by curtain. Very tight parking!

Location. Was walkable to Harbour.
Furniture was a little shabby.

the location was excellent and the breakfast was very good.
The bathroom was very tiny. It had a toilet that a taller person would have had a hard time using. The shower and sink were combined and the shower would only be good for to rinse yourself off as it was right above the sink and very low.
